Komodo 12 on 64-bit 4CPU performs at the strength of around 3386 +-17 to say that you are able to beat an engine with a performance of 3300+ is complete bs. There is no way for you to flag the engine as it will never lose on time all the while analyzing to an insane depth. A draw is more believable although you still have to be of insane playing strength to pull it off.

The rating is derived from the results and the rating of the opponents
a computer that doesn't have a rating is matched against people or computers who do have ratings, and then based on which ones it beats or loses to (win %, draw %, and matchup results), you can calculate how good it is.
A elo difference of 400 points is expected to yield a result of 76% in favor of the stronger player
a difference of 600 means a result of 92%
so to say you can maintain a ratio of 1:5
you have to be rated at least 2900
so unless you're magnus carlson
