Shop Discounts - Upgrading Teamwork

So I had asked Dev MattB about the Regular Shop Discounts vs Secret Shop Discounts. At this point with the Regular Shop Discount being basically a bug that is shared with all your team members, I'd say keep it that way forever. Personally like things that encourage players to work together, helping new players with say an experienced player going with someone that is new.

As far as the secret shop, make it like the regular shop, a global, team sharable discount. It just feels good to have discounts, without it, not having it shared feels like the bug.

But then, having more than 2 people in a lobby will make a major node useless. And that's an actual "bug"

everyone getting the discounts, why does it matter

I mean if there's a group of 4 friends who bought the game together, they play and level up together, then for 2 of them that node will be pointless. It'd be a bad design.

Also, secret shops are already OP

all of the chance to get gold, health, none of that stacks, only 1 person needs it

so technically just as useless

Well, just because these are useless doesn't mean we have to make everything else useless too 😛

but disounts, sharing and teamwork just make it feel good and I mean that is why people play, so why not, can guarentee if they take away shared discount on Regular Shop, people would start complaining

lol, let's make every weapon deal 99999 dmg, people would stop complaining. I'm not like super against it, but that's not an argument

right now 3/4 players in a 4 man can get secret shop discount while also getting regular, whats just allowing another to get it really change much except for making it feel less like a bug with the regular shop already being shared.

minor things, just comes down to what the players feel is better gameplay

i'd say it feels better to have shared discounts, because discount are a positive experience

Well, right now it's not ideal either. Ideal long term solution would be to balance the shops and just make it individual for both. Secret shop is too strong now

i mean discounts and power of things are two different discussions

It just makes the game easier. It may be positive experience for someone who doesn't play the game to be challenged, which is strange why they bought a roguelike game in the first place.

again, this is talking to the experience of the discount and sharing things, not the power in each of those, right now 1 person not getting a 15% discount is the current state of the game.

This game is about teamwork, after all.
Why have co-op if you can't help teammates in the process? ❤️
