i think i never realized human beings could have their body parts severed. i mean i knew i could bleed but due to all the cartoons I watched where someone would get thrown through 3 walls or tank an explosion point blank without injury, i naturally assumed limbs could not be severed. i was always very confused when my mum frantically told me to be careful with knives or scissors, or any scenario really where she mentioned how my "finger might come off" cuz like... fingers don't come off? im glad i was never smart enough to test my hypothesis, most likely cuz i didnt want to make myself bleed
