chin up anon. i know that right now it may seem like everything is going to shit, but i promise you it’ll get better. your dad’s being an insensitive prick - nothing that he’s saying is justified whatsoever, and no matter what he says or does, remember that you are completely within your rights to be making decisions for your future, and for your own benefit. i’m hoping that your dad comes around eventually - it seems like he’s saying a lot of very hurtful things which i hope he doesn’t mean, but i want you to know that even if he does mean them, they hold no value. you are not a traitor to anyone for doing what’s best to you, and you are not the “worst child one could ask for” just for making a decision that conflicts with your parents’ views.

as for whether it’s worth it - you’re doing all of this for yourself. for your future. and that’s what makes it all worth it. because someday you will be looking back at the choices you made, and you’ll thank yourself for making the tough choices that benefitted you in the long run. life is always worth living; there’s so much to see, so much to do, so many people to meet and so much string cheese to consume. i know sometimes it can seem like it isn’t worth it, but believe me when i say that there will come a day when you don’t feel like that anymore, and on that day you will appreciate having made the right decisions.
