idk its kinda just finesse? This uncle kinda mentally ill and he doesnt feel right unless he knows everyones business and secrets. so he's kept on an info diet. Usually the strategy is to say i dont know, insert other person knows.

if he asks something about my dad, ill just say i dont know

acting clueless and having a positive attitude smiling and laughing can really help finessing nosy family. if you wanna be a little combative you can try being equally nosy about them but i dont recommend that for the peace, although it feels great

some (not all) are the least socially aware people, will take offence at any small thing while expecting you to take pure insult without reaction. will be terrible guests and hosts, and will expect you to be the best guest/host

I understand you might not want to be aggressive but the best way to get rid of nosy relatives is to just fight back with them. Most nosy relatives are pretty insecure and there is almost always reasonable amounts of backing as to why. Me personally if a relative gets pretty nosy, i just flip he entire "conversation" back onto them, going into touchy subject territory. Its only when their own dignity is at stake will such type of people back off.

without causing a stir in front of my other relatives

i have chose to cut ties with these nosy relatives for my well-being, and i would not want to be back into square one even if it were for an hour or two
