you see those who escape end up in south korea
and south koreans are like mad haters and racist to north koreans
and they have different education so south koreans dont give them jobs
so as an escapee, the only job you can have is reporting to the media things about north korea
heres the thing, their media wont talk to you or interview you unless you have a crazy story
so a lot of escapees make up a lot of stuff
and they are caught contradicting themselves

this is true, but their a sovereign nation, its not up to us how they choose how they live their lives
i do think they should let their citizens be free and have access to the world
if you want to imagine life in north korea, try to imagine village life. like if you go to your village and rather than coming back you spend your life there. thats the reality for most people around the globe and that's the kind of simple life north koreans spend

they got into top 5 in one of the ICPC contests
and just a couple days ago someone from North Korea in a competitve programming contest I was in won 1st place
and apparantely, they have won 22 gold medals in the IMO
