I have a suggestion for the helper ping thing for study channels. When someone has been helped and understands, there should be a way for that person to mark the question as resolved and remove that ping. I don't really like waking up to 30 pings in the morning lol its a little annoying. I know deleting a message just leaves a ghost ping and I'm not familiar with the intricacies of discord, but I would like for someone from the developers to look into whether or not it can be done. Its a pretty minor thing at the end of the day though so if it can't be done, there's not really a problem.

A way to mark a question as resolved and remove helper pings.
@botdeveloper i cant ping the role
I don't think you can really remove a ping for particular users
Coz that would require access to Discord's server
Maybe I'm wrong
@warm patio
Eminem is correct. But we could achieve smth beneficial by delaying the ping from /ask by a few seconds, say 15-30 in case the user deletes the q themselves within that time and so it does not ping.
A way that I can think of to properly achieve this would look smth like
- user runs /ask, which should ping role xyz
- every online user from role xyz is pinged (maybe @here for any user active in a specific channel), and when every other user from the same role comes online, they get a dm with a msg link to the q, only if the q wasn’t marked as resolved by a new command used to mark a q as solved
This is just what I can think of atm
Good problem to tackle tho I wish I got more challenging problems in my work, but sadly my time is nearing its end
The q for resolving could be called /solved whenever a user runs it it would mark their last asked q as solved
These are not full solutions but alternatives because what u are asking for us impossible
I like this. So if I'm getting this right, they get a dm for the question only if the person is online and if the question isnt marked as resolved? I like this idea, it will at least get rid of the overnight pings
cause rn I'm at 23 pings
Yeah understood. I think this would be a major improvement
I get what you mean but this sentence sounds like youre dying lol
This would be a major improvement. If you get the chance to do so, please do implement it
hey, any progress made? Or is this on hold
@surreal bluff needs to weigh in on this
Not a fan of the ideas suggested. Would rather stick to role pings, makes everything smoother. Don't want to overcomplicate things tbh
Yeah
I don’t see any straightforward solution anyway
