Decided I needed to go faster when there were around 30 mins left, so I did but I missed two pages in the middle (total 7 marks) that I only saw in the last three minutes when looking through my paper and I had to write anything really fast in them

You don't actually have to memorize it or anything, you can work it out from the unit for enthalpy change (kJ mol⁻¹) so Q/n
I only made Q -ve because it's an exothermic reaction

It’s pretty different yeah, the regulations of the exam boards area different when taking the exam, the content of the exam is really different and so on, stick to using only Edexcel books since those will give you exactly what’s on the exam.

I guess something you should keep in mind is the mark schemes.
For cambridge as an example, mark schemes may give additional points that can be awarded for the question
- it can give a brief explanation to the person reading why this point is correct.
In edexcel , mark schemes may be more narrow / not that flexible.....
That is also a broad statement. I think it depends on the subject you are studying.
nevertheless, u should be able to be in line with your syllabus requirements and your mind should be adapted to work on the your actual exam format.

imo for Edexcel and A-levels it goes
Chemistry -> Straight-forward questions, decent ms but horrible grade boundaries (64/80 for an A in unit 1 last year was maddd)
Biology -> Interesting questions, reasonable grade boundaries but super restrictive ms
Physics -> Crazy questions, reasonable grade boundaries and okay ms
I don't take physics but this is based on what some of my friends have told me

Don't worry man I've had my fair share of Us and Cs in AS
It gets much better with each retake
Plus the unit 1 chemistry curve is notoriously high so don't beat yourself up too much about it
January last year was disappointment after disappointment for me but it made me a stronger candidate as a result so you'll come out of this a better person anyway, guaranteed A or not. Mind you, you don't need an A in every single paper to get an A* anyway so if your only worry is not getting 3 As then you have nothing to worry about
With how the UMS system works it really doesn't matter what the letter grade is
I have friends who graduated last year who went from straight Ds and Us in their first session to an A* A* A

Lots of graph descriptions, analysis and calculations
A lot less content-heavy compared to some of the other papers
My classmates said that they struggled with the "trust in scientists graph" question

Go through the Unit 3 ZNotes, read through the core practicals in your lab book or on PMT and solve one or 2 new spec papers
Most importantly, get a good night's rest
You can ace most of the graph, calculation, drawing, measurement, e.t.c. questions if you're focused
Do that and you could be looking at an A

I also highly reccomend memorizing some of the marking schemes for the experiment questions but if you understand the experiment then no need tbh

There'll usually be a little section on them in the coursebook so you can read that over just incase but you'll be fine even if you don't study them
