what are the IB exams

like, are they like A levels?

should i take IB exams after IGCSEs? or after A levels? or do i not need them? whats the difference? i really hope someone could help

yes u give the whole diploma programme which is basically the same as AS and A2, and if ur wanting to do IB you’d start after your igcse’s yup

It’s grade 11 and 12, you give all ur official exams at the end of grade 12

but you do have Internal Assessments as well throughout the year

you also have to do CAS which is like a huge segment of basically what can be considered community work/activities

There’s also theory of knowledge

u should look into this stuff before deciding to take IB or a levels 😁

Greetings young man, I assume you've done Economics in IGCSE like me. I advise you to go through the main concepts before the start of the course. By main I mean things like demand, supply, factors of production and all of that. I say this because this will save you some time, instead of recalling concepts in the class doing it beforehand will allow you to focus on upcoming topics too.
Now, if you haven't done Economics before don't worry the educators will help throughout the course of learning however, I recommend you go through the Introduction part of the coursebook. Grasp the contents, research on it then you're good to go.
If you need any resources feel free to ask.

maths HL, cs HL, and physics HL is a lot of work and very challenging

but they will seriously help u for uni in the future, especially certain topics in maths aa hl which you will see a lot in your major

my advice, look for another subject to replace physics HL and just go to physics SL since its less load

you also have the CS IA which used to be designing and planning a program using coding languages, but i believe theyre changing into something new for the "first assessment 2027" syllabus

If u can I would suggest taking one language as Ab and one language as A (French as Ab and English as A) that way you could maximize your grades to get the highest points possible and get more time for other harder subjects. My biggest regret is taking two language and literature subjects as the bilingual diploma isn’t really valued by universities

Also if you’re looking for computer science I recommend taking physics HL but know that it’s not easy. I recommend switching chemistry for a humanity like economics or something more related to what you want to study like Digital society or Design and technology

Actually, I recommend you enjoy yourself as much as possible now, so you can start IB with a no-nonsense attitude from the very beginning.

Oh, and the best advice: don't date while in IB. Too much time-commitment and frankly, it's gonna ruin you. I speak from experience.

yeah , even though cs is better if you're planning to go into software, i think it can still help to meet the subject prerequisites for computer engineering

@trail aspen it's a lot of memorization, that's for one - whether this is hard or not I'd say would be pretty subjective to whether you're willing to memorize studies and theories of psych

A school with 600 students wants to produce some information from the results of the four standard tests in Maths, Science, English and IT. Each test is out of 100 marks. The information output should be the highest, lowest and average mark for each test and the highest, lowest and average mark overall. All the marks need to be input. Write a program in Python to complete this task.

Hi, so I have a question. I have to pick between Chinese B SL or Japanese AB Inito. I'm currently taking IGCSE Foreign Language Chinese, with a predicted score of A+. What I'm currently doing is dragging my score up by scoring well on my reading comprehension, listening comprehension as well as orals. I basically am around a B to a C student when it comes to writing. I have no prior knowledge of Japanese however.

TLDR: In foreign IGCSE chinese, am counting on my listening, reading and orals to carry me(which is working fine so far, with a predicted of A+). No prior knowledge of Japanese

DP basically consists of 6 subjects, you choose 3 higher level and 3 standard level depending on your future career choice. These 6 subjects account for 42 marks out of the 45 total. The rest 3 will be brought to you by firstly the extended essay which you will be writting between grade 11 and 12. Secondly TOK, Theory of knowledge and finally your CAS. These will provide you with the 3 additional points, if you dont complete either of the three mentioned above you wont be awarded the DP certificate.
