Lmao no
Which server is this from? It says no access.
Under AS group?
But I can see some AS channels
/roles
@tawdry gull study session when XD
Hmm added roles but still not visible. How does it work?
Idk maybe ask the mods?
You dint put AS further maths?
Ok it’s visible now
Ask πerrot. He explains these questions very well.
@tawdry gull math god can show us the way? 🥺
Is ok haha he’s gaming now we’ll just wait for his reply 😂
Compile a few questions then request a study session from him haha
Damn we would have the PS5 tower too
I can no longer read FP1 questions, my vision blurs
Ikr it’s like I have amnesia
Here’s a nice question. What is tan (α + β + γ) in terms of the tangents of the individual angles?
;-;
Hmm
Is there a nice symmetrical way to solve this without using multiple angles twice?
And such that it can be generalized?
Like wat
T.T
My math knowledge too insufficient to answer your high level math qs T.T
Where is Brave going and what is he studying?
I’m retarded :’)
Canada, Data Science
September
Im more retarded
Nice. Good luck!
Thanks

UofT?
Lots of statistics
Yes, 75 sample Wilcoxon sign rank test momento
I still hate that they gave us 24 samples
During paper I literally forgot how to do a hypothesis test
I forgot when to reject H0
This is not that difficult. Occurred to me when solving one of those FM complex numbers questions on tan 4x or something similar.
Got actual question?
So many similar ones. Using DeMoivre’s theorem show that etc etc.
Help needed <@&597104882482413589>
Haha looks interesting!
we should do some of these questions sometimes
@rancid schooner
You can do a livesolving session here!
Presolve then go though and explain :)
thats our discussion here :)
help
u can parametrize vectors parallel to xz plane, then dot it with the "a" vector and equate it to 0
how
xz plane means the vector must be in the form (x, 0, z) right?
yes
nope
not z
wdym?
i would just divide the vector with it's resultant?
by the magnitude sir
yea
yeah
modulus
yep
my bad
i forgot
np sir
thanks
no probs bro
i started vectors after a long time, forgot the terms and the ways, now it is making sense
It’s more fun and less stressful if you solve then explain and share with everyone else here 😄
it would be less fun and more stressful to me though
Given three complex numbers a,b,c, represented on the complex plane as points A,B,C respectively, express the area of triangle ABC in terms of a,b,c and their conjugates
this doesn't seem that bad for some reason...
but i feel like there's a twist to it
especially cause Mr V sent it
wdym?
final answer cannot have e.g. Re(a), or arg(b), etc
ok
otherwise you could just use the shoelace formula using Re and Im for x and y.
Can you not just get around that by using polar form?
well arg(.) is not allowed either. and neither is |z| .
question specifies in terms of a,b,c, or their conjugates, i.e a*, b*, c*.
Is this similar to that one
complex vectors
@verbal nova yk which 1 i'm talking about?
I
Hmm even modulus not allowed
yes not allowed. just the complex numbers and their conjugates allowed. and numbers of course.
you can use modulus for the final answer to make it positive.
(hope this works haha)
and maybe i, as necessary.
@rancid schooner here are some stpm furthermaths past years if you're interested lol, I haven't got time to go through them :(
Please host a study sessions and go through a few questions
The questions are not that recent though
petition to make alex host study sessions
Ay
🙏
Bots cannot host study sessions but they will gladly participate and contribute mathematical jokes 😄
biased bot
Biased estimator? 😄
@tawdry gull try this #ug-maths-physics message
Why so little content abt this :(
Why is 0th rising factorial of x = 1 and not x? Same goes to the falling factorial one (second last line)
Because the first rising factorial of x is x. Only one term. So the 0th is 1. In the world of multiplication everything starts with 1.
The last one is the nth rising factorial of 1 not falling factorial
You’re watching maths videos at 4am?
The guy could just be an American version of @tawdry gull 😄
:)
Maybe next study session πerrot can write on a whiteboard and do a similar Socrates pose :)
Very nice explanation, thanks prof :)

Coz I do nothing whole day 🤡
you don't sleep?
At 5am🤣
Looks complicated. Please show workings.
AlexV bot trying to understand emotions
Anyone wanna try out Proof by Intimacy? 😳
What’s that?
You prove left hand side, i prove right hand side, but we also hold hands 😳😳😳
Everyone i have a proposal
Can we start a rebellion against pi
To use its on legged brother instead
You wanna start a rebellion for a letter who’s name you dont know?
Done
That would be inconvenient. @tawdry gull would have to become TheHalfτrot.
LOL
I support the movement even more
This is a good reason
We need to see the The Half Taurrot come to life
$f(x)+f'(-x)=x^2 +3$
The πerrot
find f(x)
f(x) = x^2 + 3 - f’(-x)
||f(x)=(x+1)²||
incomplete
i dont think ||exp(-x)|| is part of the solution
Haha yes. It isn’t.
||f(x)=(x+1)²+k(cos x - sin x)||
yep there u go
Sorry it’s kinda chaotic lol
But I honestly don’t get the question for part b
||f(x)=2x + 3 + A sinh(x) + B cos(x)||
Nice 😄
Now this? @tawdry gull
gaussian maybe
That’s a pic from my lunch 😄
nice gaussian lunch 👍
Haha it’s wine in a wine glass 🍷
If you turn it upside down it does resemble a t-distribution for different degrees of freedom.
Tending to Gaussian
All in the name of science :)
do bots question their existence too?
Hmm this could set them in an endless loop
This statement is False
@rancid schooner does your programming break from paradoxes tho
It would be a paradox if it does
I like how we label anything that goes in an endless loop a paradox
The people jus got lazy and said fuck it
Help needed <@&597104882482413589>
shud u check the continuity on y' and the partial derivative?
I'm clueless how to solve this problem 😅😞
Do an experiment
unless the glass is tilted with an angle greater than 90 degrees the rear window is bound to get wet nah?
You have to drive faster than the speed of rain
then what will happen?
the droplets that would have dropped on the roof will drop at the rear window or sth like that but still the rear window would get wet
"there is the roof of the car in front of the back glass...."
Thanks @tawdry gull
Gave +1 rep to The_Pierrot#7889
Might bother you for an explanation later 😅
Please post your solution
did u try to solve it yet?
Looks difficult 😄
That's what professors say
Creepy but henlo
:)
How ya doin
great
Aww
i still have stuffs to do ofc
but nothing has been bothering me
emotionally or physically
πerrot sounds like a πrofessor
pirofessor
pyrofessor
That's a lovely place to be in
Haffun
Half taurot is happy
die
Isn't the whole power in g(x) '-h'?
Acid
Damn even Wolfram agrees
Yes
What about $2^i$?
AlexV
||e^(iln2)||
||cos(ln2) + isin(ln2)||
Ez
Hmmm
@rancid schooner
What does it mean to raise to power i?
It’s complex :)
A complex number may be taken to the power of another complex number. In particular, complex exponentiation satisfies (a+bi)^(c+di)=(a^2+b^2)^((c+id)/2)e^(i(c+id)arg(a+ib)), (1) where arg(z) is the complex argument. Written explicitly in terms of real and imaginary parts, (a+bi)^(c+di)=(a^2+b^2)^(c/2)e^(-darg(a+ib))×{cos[carg(a+ib)+1/2dln(a...
$x = \sqrt{x-\frac 1x} +\sqrt {1-\frac1x}, x\in \mathbb R$
AlexV
Find x.
Nice 👏🏻😄
@tawdry gull how would you solve this?
My solution yesterday
Came up with a more elegant solution today 😊
@verbal nova @tawdry gull
Bruh
omg this guy🤣
This is beautiful 🥹
Agreed
😊
Thank you! Very kind of you to say so. That made my day :)
Gave +1 rep to BraveGuys42#5303
How did you come up with the triangle solution
😊
Haha no no
Was trying to come up with a neat solution. Tried a few substitutions but none really worked. Same with conjugates.
But if you look at it again it does remind you a bit of Pythagoras. So after some experimenting the solution hits you :)
Just noticed your name change haha
Lol
🤨
The half taurot is bewildered
So you can start off as a poet and still win the top prize in mathematics
Nope
That’s been around for some time. It’s a very useful function.
I saw that vid too
Did you see the one on cas(x)?
cat(x) tho
Naw i only saw sinc
It showed up on my feed
Havent done maths in a bit
So thought itd be nice vid to get back

Is that easier than remembering how to spell Prosthaphaeresis? 😄
Yeah I saw this HAHAHAHA
Hello crysto
Halo, I'll prolly be given MAT(Maths admission test), TMUA(Test of Mathematics for University Admission) or STEP(Sixth Term Examination Paper) since I'll be applying to unis in UK. Not 100% sure which one I'll attempt at the moment but I'd really appreciate if anyone could send hard/unique questions which may be questions from these last test or just relevant ones you might have come across. Thxxxx (and if someone wants to prepare for them together pls shoot a DM would really appreciate it)
Good luck! I’m sure you’ll do very well, since you like to grapple with unusual maths problems.
Thx! But still need practice 😅 the summer holidays have made me rusty
@tawdry gull
You could always post some questions in #step
Thx, I didn't know that existed
uhh any tips to solve this?
Looks intimidating 😄
But powers are even. Maybe that might help.
late replies 😦 but hi math god
You must be referring to Pierrot 😄
You’re not posting solutions here any more?
Nope hahahaa. I mean I rarely lurk around here
Will try to write solutions ahem 👌😎
Why so busy?
Well actually.. I tend to do something else hahaha. Like watching dramas, listening to music, doing work and sorts
But it has been a long time huh HAHAH I m a long lost friend 💀😮
Thought you enjoy doing maths :)
Anyway I just posted a solution written with the Muji pen.
i enjoy maths a lot regardless xd
muji pen ah
which model, how much

where is this from?

Interesting fact: just discovered that you can’t use τ as a variable in Desmos because its value has been preset to 2π
