BA Biology isn't really recommended. Mostly because there shouldn't be a lot of distinction between a biologist and a biology teacher because both of them should be knowing their subject the same way, just that there's an added skill fo being able to transfer your knowledge and skills

Also, it's important to try and do the practical work of several courses. For example, I originally wanted to be an archeologist so I took history and all that but before deciding. I contacted an actual archeologist and did some field work and I realized that I didn't enjoy it as much as I did. So I tried doing other activities such as volunteer work for patients, for the community and then I became friends with high tier leaders in embassies and learned about their work and such. And so I realized that I wanted to get into politics instead. You'll know it in your gut, like if it feels like it is meant for you, that field of work. Go try and find a course that will sustain you for that. Goodluck!

SAT subject tests, uncertain, but you should aim for 2400

especially if you're applying to Caltech

it doesn't make much of a difference according to the data when you're at the 1520+ range, so that's the cutoff at least for me

I'm not in any of the Ivy League unis (applying for 2020 undergrad entry to the UK), but I've seen reports written by Ivy League grads

but still, I've seen plenty of people from our school getting rejected with 1520+ on their SATs by Ivy Leagues

2. do you want to study fluid dynamics?

4. do you want to study control theory?

if the answer to all 4 are "yes", then go do chemical engineering

chem eng is much more harder than you would expect, it's nothing alike chemistry

engineering with fluids is completely different from engineering with solids

A degree is become less and less worthwhile due to the simple fact that it teaches us to follow a set of rules and guidelines that push for conformity and limit creativity, especially in medicine where the real creativity only really shines have doing a phd in medical research. Companies no longer look at GPA's or how smart you are, They look for Innovators, Outside the box thinkers and people who are creativity, mutilskilled and are able to bring a competitive edge to their firm. Yes a degree can assist in that, but in our growing world in regards to over saturation of certain degrees, the ability to be creative and push for innovation and team working are some of the most important skills in jobs nowadays. pushing yourselves to be not apart of the crowd.

degrees and education needs to actually change from their old ways and equip people for the future

not a future where they cant find a job due to their being so many people with the same skill set as you, rather push people to be the leaders,innovators and change makers of today and tomorrow.
