Ooo I'll check out Hungary and Poland
How's the quality of courses in Europe any idea?
Yes
Okay then go with the ones I mentioned but ask around before making any final decision
As Idk alot about European unis
What universities are there
It's not as good as the UK but I heard its decent
Yeah I've been wanting to connect with students who do study there
Yeah but uk is hella expensive out of my reach and they need near to perfect grades too
But what I also heard was that some doctors might ask you to pay them in order to let you pass(I have no idea how true this is so do your own research)
Tbh I don't remember the names anymore
Been a while since I looked at eu unis
Idt we have many people who study in Europe here tbh
Try asking your teachers if they could give you the contact details of some graduate of your own school who has gone to a European uni
They might give you if that student agrees
nah they are good to
the probles arise due to language bariers
ooohokayy ill look up on google
yeah thats why idk wanna find someone who is going to one
yeah i already tried they dont know anyone
yeah fully
and 3rd year you gotta do the language cause its all clinical
soo
I have a friend doing medicine in Poland in Lodz (there are accents on the letters but idk) she had to take polish classes and said the lecturers don't always know very good english
And yea she has to learn enough by the clinical years
Does the uni provide the extra classes for language as well, or we need to jojn different language centre??
The uni had mandatory polish modules
hi, can i ask about uk university apps here
Can you please get the name of uni??
I've asked
So whats the name??🫠
Bruh they haven't replied yet.. if they did I'd tell you
Mb, I misunderstood the sentence!! Will wait!!
Lodz university, U med is what they said
So they don't have good scholarships, ,
Anyways, thanks for asking tho..
Eeks sorry
This is what they said about the uni if you want more info
Thanks, will try to dig deeper for scholarships!!

I wanted help in writing personal statment
What kind of help??
like structure
how we are suppose to write and what are we suppose to write
Could someone suggest me any Ivy League which is well known for their Computer Science Program?
guys anyone over here has a like a list of cheap unis all around the world
which are good
and if not all around the world then can i get a suggestion for cheap american Unis
Idt so. The person with PhD can write Dr in their initial name
But the doctors is someone with a MD degree in medicine mainly
As per ok
Ik*
Theyre both doctors
Oh right okay
That is what u meant
Phd typically jus refers to a person having done research i believe
Not necessarily
"In the United Kingdom, India, Pakistan, Hong Kong, Trinidad and Tobago,South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Ghana, and other countries whose cultures were recently linked to the UK, the title Dr is generally used both for those who hold doctoral degrees and for registered medical practitioners."
It can be used for both people who hold degrees and medical practitioners.
as I said, it differs across countries
that's the wikipedia
If i remember correctly
where are you getting your information from, image?
Lots of phd students give lectures for people theyre under
ah okay, just because you said "nope" I thought you were saying a doctor is only someone who holds a doctorate and not a practitioner
And was referring to how phd holders who have Dr initial
it's just weird wording on your part honestly, yeah it's a misunderstanding
why are you getting defensive all I said was it's improper wording
all right buddy you're right you happy now?
objectively incorrect
but whatever
Perhaps a poor choice of wording i dare add.
A brain fart one could say
Yeah, that was my point, a person having a MD degree only, can write doctors, even if they don't have a doctorate degree!! and the person with PhD can also write it!! But it completely depends on country!!
We have lecturers who don't have the title of professors..
You can still teach without the title of professor
It's a higher level
Guys can you suggest me top universities in the uk for biomedical engineering?
When applying to uni should I use my predicted A2 marks or use my actual marks?
if you have actual then you use them
if you dont have them then use predicted @young whale
Would that effect the acceptancy rate or it wouldn't?
Because to use might actual marks I need to wait for a whole year
oh no i just meant if you'd already taken a gap year
most people apply with predicted grades so dw!
very few places ask for the final grade before you apply, if they do then that will be made explicitly clear
Alright thanks for the advice!
no worries
Hello guys
I aced my IGCSEs last year and I'm now in AS level going to A level next year. I know this server has peeps from around the world, I would like to know which universities are the best for international students...by the way I want to take a program with computers...somewhere around Actuarial science and Data Science...may I please have recommendations? Please?@everyone
I have heard of good international unis in abu dhabi for that course
uk have also good uni
Hello. What are some good universities close to Sheffield?
How is nanyang technological university?
What are good european countries for international students?
the Netherlands has some amazing unis and they’re more affordable than other countries’ as well
courses in english?
Yea
England is best for English edu
In Europe
In Netherlands education is in English but for jobs you still need to know Dutch language
tysm

Hi i have a doubt.
What are the A level entry requirements to study accounting and finance in the UK ?
And is studying economics or business more important for my future in accounting and finance. Other maths and accounting. To be studying in the UK
Im rly stuck and id love someome to help me through this
And which uni is best fr this.
You just look at the individual university websites for the universities you want to go to and check there entry requirements for each course cause some would require A-level Maths for there accounting and finance course I know that both Kings college London and Warwick require Maths A-level for accounting and finance
However some others won’t require maths A-levels for there course and entry requirements will be less stricter
Yes..
My question is wht do i choose.. business or economics.? Wht wud be best for my future?
Ive already chosen accounting and maths
queens mary was gonna be my firm choice but theyve just upped the entry requirements for compsci by two grades wtf
has your offer changed?
i havent sent my ucas yet
Im beggining to start studying my A levels
Whats should i choose?
Business or economics as my 3rd option?
First 2 are maths and accounting
for a levels?
id do economics
Can SAT be helpful for uk or european applications?
for uk no, usually they would rather accept AP scores
Question: Can you take Cambridge international examinations for AS/A levels privately in the UK?
Like can I choose that exam board.
There are no helper roles set for this channel! | Please ask a moderator to set one!
???
I think yes!!
But check on Ur interested board website, they'll have more detailed info on this!!
I've been looking hard but they don't give me a definitive answer
Actually, they say some private schools use CIE in the UK, but they don't specify whether someone can take it privately
Okay so for which board, Cambridge/Edexcel/ or any other?
Cambridge
thats for AS/A levels
You may not have to attend a Cambridge school to sit one of our exams. Check entry guidelines for private candidates.
This might help
Or call their call center, they cooperate really well.
Which subjects are compulsory if im wanting to be a software engineer
Maths
any specific sciences?
That would depend on the country
Broadly speaking, you only need maths
what about india, i heard chem and physics are mandatory, is that true?
oh okay
I personally don't know but there wil be other people here who will
alright, tysm
Gave +1 rep to Aishwarya#7376
Anybody in here that did either Chem Math Phy or FM and just got into either Oxford LSE Imperial UCL last year for econ related courses last year?
Depends on Ur uni!
Can you tell me how do I find out
If it’s a bachelor of engineering degree you 99% of the time need Chemistry too
You can also study computer science and choose software engineering electives
so right now ive taken, chem, physics, comp science and maths
is that fine>
?
That's perfect
Yep
Although I wouldn’t advise taking that many solely so you can study software engineering (but if you want to broaden your options and can handle that many it’s better)
It’s not uncommon for people who take computer science to become software engineers
at all
I want to do either pharmacology or pharmaceutical sciences, other than the UK, I am not sure of any other european countries I could consider due to the language barrier and mode of teaching, does anyone have any suggestions other than the netherlands?
For ug your chances are limited to the Netherlands as far as I am aware
There are some unis in other countries which offer ug English courses but they are very hard to find as you have to check every unis website for that
But for Masters I can confirm to you that both Italy and Germany have masters in English
I haven't fully researched this yet but a few of my friends have said this so this will be correct
yeah :( idk what to do if my parents say no to the uk
When to apply for 2023 cs degree in uk?
Before Jan 15
For which session
September 2023
bachelors?
Yeah
ty
Np
What is harder AP or IGCSE ?
AP
Why?
whats the difference
Ones more American ones more international
For igcse
Like pretty low raw mark still gets pushed up to a or a*
well it depends on the thresholds
So I’d say esp for math and science it’s pretty easy to get a or a*
What subjects are u looking at
AP doesn’t or ACT lets say
I’m just saying in general
Literally all subject goes pretty deep
in igcse
Nah not really now I think about it
If IGCSE was a bit deeper then there wouldn’t be so many ppl struggling at a-levels after igcse
They’re struggling bc the subject even more deeper
like it’s what people at uni take
and not many people r struggling tbh it just depends on how well u did in IGCSE
But u can make igcse bit harder so ppl don’t get that much confidence from it ig
Not struggle I’d say they complain about the jump being really big
Not necessarily struggle
SO at the end what goes pretty deeeeep into each subject (act and AP ) or igcse, alevel
or which has the hardest exams
It really depends on what kinda students u r
I think for a levels if u do enough papers ur pretty fine
But for ap’s u probably need a bit more creativity and use ur brain a bit more
Bro currently i am attending IGCSE O level
i planned to go to US after IGCSE
shall i take
SAT or GED ?
Is Common app necessary for Germany?
Ig there is only one college from Germany in common app!!
You can use univassist, tho!
Which one? Can you please tell me about it
What is uni assist?
It's a similar platform to common app but for Germany!!
Okay thanks for telling
Gave +1 rep to Konsept#2679
Guys how long did it take any of u to make a account for ucas and common app with writing the personal statement draft
For p/s took like 4 drafts maybe a day or 2?
Ucas wasn’t so long to set up even tho u have to fill in ur grades and all ur personal info
Should be fine if u have a counsellor or mentor to guide u thru
As far as I’m aware it’s about the same but u need to get 1 or 2 of ur subject teachers to write something about u
And sitting SAT’s are probably recommended but not necessary
Pls inform me if anybody knows about CBIT
There are no helper roles set for this channel! | Please ask a moderator to set one!
Question: Is applying to Unis free or do they charge fees for that?
ucas is like £27
They most likely charge
is it too much?
It'll be like $50 max per application group I think but I'm not sure
You should look it up
oh oky
what do unis look for while providing scholarships?
it is ECAs? Grades? SATs or ILETs
Some extra curriculars and how u can contribute to the student community of the uni
can anyone recommend me good unis for biotech/microbio or pharmacy
But yea insanely good grades would defs make u stand out from the others
do we need to show them certificates or can i just mention them in essays
do IGCSEs matter? or is it A lvls
Mainly a levels
I don’t think they really care about IGCSE’ s if u have got good enough grades in a levels
Like IGCSE is just proof that u have achieved the basic literacy/numeracy
Depending if ur arts or science student
Cos some unis have tough English language requirements
For a levels?
ffor both
Is this for scholarship or getting into a top uni?
scholarships
Yeah unis don't care at all about IGCSE
For example imperial right even if ur from English speaking country u have to get C in English language
Not even English literature
u mean "more than C"
At least c yea
Like if u take lit then u will have to do duolinguo English test or ielts
I see
Scholarship ig still depends if ur going for a top unis scholarship or an average scholarship
what much do it cost tho to study in a good uni
Cuz each uni look for different scholarship ppl
in US
Like a lot bro
I think if ur in a top uni then the amount of work u get is probably too overwhelming for u to work at the same time
i see
how much do these unis provide scholarships
like 30-50%
or more than that
My cousin is in oxford and i don’t think she has spare time at all
There’s all sorts
i thought unis are fun
Well it’s oxford
u get free time
Not at uni yet still applying
so it depends on unis
Yea ig
whats ur major
Engineering most likely
do ur "major" affects chances of scholarship and acceptance
like i want to study biotech
or pharmacy
Thee r scholarships that are based on ur subject
so more demand= more scholarships
So if ur going for a biomed schol then I’d say that it’s more competitive
why tho
Well all the smart ppl do biomed
Ok that’s an exaggeration but I can still say most
Like if a person do 3 sciences then they r probably big brain right
And those ppl probably go on to do biomed
IN South Asian countries like Bangladesh
if you dont pick engineering
u are dumb
Lmfao they engineer engineers ig
Yea commerce has the lowest requirements lmao
Don’t wanna offend anyone
yes
Starting in a levels?
Yea u got quite a bit of work to do next 2 years buddy
pure science and maths
ik man
A lvl is tough
I think ig to as has the biggest jump
mcqs are tough
But good thing is there’s resits
p2 p3 is relatively easier
But preferably u want to avoid that
Yea bro my exams cost a fortune
are u doing A2?
Cambridge’s a rip off
A2 2023?
what are ur subs
Physics further math history geo
Yea im not sure I recommend that if ur gonna do biomed
but where is mathematics
Not really necessary and too much hard work
like general maths
Done that last year
U can do it again if u want ofc
Further math is the general math after a2 basically
Don’t recommend it unless ur ready to grind math all year
what are the chances of getting into University of Alberta with grades ABB in AS Level?
does anyone have links regarding universities in Germany offering Bachelors in Computer Science(BSCS) course in English?
Use daad.de !!
can anyone recommend culinary arts universities?
I think I had read about university of Mississippi school of medicine having low Goa requirement! But depends how low u want it!!
Okay ig!
Btw I just found out, only us citizens can apply for that uni
And the lowest Gpa uni is American uni school of medicine with 3.0
Med in US means you need to do 4 years of undergrad first, so you can't apply right after high school
check out Italy, high school grades don't matter (as long as you pass) but you do need to pass a national entrance examination
Language requirements??
Yes
There are around 13 universities that have medicine courses in English, however the downside is non-eus can only apply to one
Anyone planning for Germany?
Oh
I think there're many universities that teach in English aswell
For medicine u need to learn German eventually for clinical practice!!
Quick question, Can i give SAT after applying or sending my application to Unis
Incase i missed the registration deadlines
Hey guys for AS and A levels, what good schools are there in India?
Anyone know how's keele university??
For cs?
Yeah, CS and cyber security combined!
I used but couldn't find any
Oh then I'm sorry I'm not very aware regarding CS
But I think for biological stuff it's good
I am also applying for biology and CS combined, also so that's good to hear!!!
Thanks!!
Has anyone here have any experience with KCL
Yea what subject r u studying?
Biology , Psychology and Business studies
Nursing
Most likely
My parents want me to do it
I’m not sure about nursing individually
But there’s nothing that specific about applying to kcl
It’s just like applying to any other ucas uni
But it’s good to keep in mind that the fees are quite expensive unless u get a scholarship or ur domestic
Well
I am one grade short
If the entry requirements
And not sure if it’s worth applying still or not
Yeah I have done AS
I am doing A2 next year
Year 13
Yea it probably is worth applying
Resist the subject that ur not satisfied with
Resit*
I don’t need to
My AS grades don’t count towards my A2 grade
I am a home student
I live in the Uk
They count towards a level tho
Don’t they?
I mean if ur domestic then it’s probably worth it it only cost 27 pounds to apply
So ur not sitting cie?
Ah idk how those work then
AS has no effect on A2
A2 exams count towards 100% of the final A-level grades
Only biology I am not so confident in
I think if u feel like ur ready to work hard enough to get the entry requirements then u should be fine
Bio does require u to write quite precisely
Esp when ur doing the structured and also there’s a stats part to bio at a2
At least this is for cie
The thing is
My predicted UCAS grade
If I was one grade short
Would they still accept me
Yeah biology I find really hard
I think it’s ur final grade that matters
Your right
Ig
If I can get a B in Biology A2 I should be able
To get into KCL
Idk the requirements for nursing
BBB
I can get an A in psychology
A in business
I might have to settle for a C in Biology
Do u guys not do a 4th subject
No
Cause
We only need 3 for university here
Yea so do we
But ppl still do 4th just in case u screw up in the external exam
But yea I’d say only apply if ur ready to sacrifice everything to study biology
I mean if you wanna do nursing and you're not good at bio then you're kinda fucked
Like you will not enjoy it
No because you get a conditional offer based on your predicted grades, they could just not give you an offer at all
You should apply to one reach school tho, you have 5 choices so you don't lose anything by applying
But that conditional offer is same for everyone?
not necessarily
they usually give you the typical offer on the website
but they can give you a lower contextual offer based on your circumstances if they deem it necessary
Not necessarily, they can amend it
one random question: do recommendation letters affect your chances of getting scholarships or acceptance from an university
probably yes
It's a part of the application for a reason, so I would say it's important!!
does anyone know what unis in the uk don't use ucas
I'm really anxious and worried about my predicted grades not being high enough
cuz usually I always need more time to study for A levels than my friends
I'm pretty sure they all are required to use it
Otherwise you'll have to apply through common app
But then idk how commonapp works or if good british unis are on it
Common app is for the US
Even if they didn't use UCAS, they'd ask for predicted grades
Can you talk to your teachers about it?
sure thing
ok
does anyone know if singaporean universities give more way to Permanent Residents?
Harvest or stans ford ?
Harvest some potatoes then sell them at stans ford 😆
umm i have a question-
just for knowledge, do universities have any age limits? e.g the ivy leagues/mit etc?
like it's okay if for instance you're 15-16 by the time you apply for uni, right?
Fatimah Is that U?
yesh 💀
You've finished a levels at 15-16??
no no not me
'just for knowledge'
😂😂what does that mean
They'll probably be more than happy to have a prodigy
But moving out and living alone will be annoying because it's much less than legal age
oh hmm
alright
oh i meant, I havent finished A Levels at that age, i'm just asking about it as a possible circumstance if you get wim 😅
and ty for the answer (:
Honestly you don't gain that much more by going to uni that early
If you're that smart, you don't need to be formally enrolled to make it
Enjoy school, learn social skills
Take it easy
mhm
Ik friends who moved out at 17 and it's just annoying not being able to have your own bank accounts and shit
Like even the couple of months before they turn 18 it's like that
I can't imagine a few years
By that point you'd have nearly graduated😂
no you must apply before you turn 11
you must also have worked on some amazing scientific breakthrough
like helped significantly in working towards finding a cure for cancer or smthn
does anybody know good universities in the US for a physics major?
im applying for my bachelors
MIT, Caltech, Princeton many more
list goes on
there’s too many good ones
you need to find what’s good for you
where would you fit well
which would fit your budget
etc
Are u a US student?
Or are u fully international?
does anyone regret choosing their major in uni and why so?
wdym
they regretted not choosing gender studies
whose they
whats that now
whats gender studies
is an actual course in like uni's
the best course
yes
Bruhh
i am if the intention counts but havent put any action to do so
I'm going UK for backup options, just azy to write the personal statement tbh
kinda holding off these past 2-3 days
Yeah, I am applying to UK specially to Keele university!!
same here
i chose to apply to 5 unis
but not so sure what to do next
Anyone applying Uni for US?
hello does american universities require to like give all your olevels in one session?
they require the transcript, not your olevel results, if your olevel results are greAT ,U CAN ASK YOUR COUNSELLOR TO CHANGE IT
You guys use counsellors?🙄
yh
wish we had those
Hold up
can I apply to ucas
NOT USING MY PREDICTED GRADES
but using my ACTUAL A LEVEL GRADES
his ACTUAL A LEVEL GRADES
Yes
Just put the grade into the designated slot
Instead of pending put the actual grade
Well I never submitted my application to the UK but you have to fill in your personal statement, fill in any extracurricular you have, upload documents iirc
Get references
Predicted grades should be added
There is probably a video explaining this on YouTube so go and have a look
If you're taking a gap year yes
WHAT I DIDN'T KNOW THAT
wait can my ex teacher still be my reference?
Yep
wow okay thanks I didn't need to stress out too much over my exams then
Gave +1 rep to Aishwarya#7376
will the university requirements change tho:
I want to write my personal... is it a good idea to write alot about problems I had during my schhol year?
Check individual university websites for each academic year for entry requirements it may change and varies between universities
Hi Everyone
I'd love some assistance please, I feel like I'm in a sticky situation and I'd love some guidance
I'm Mozambican/ African and got:
(Grade 11) IGCSE Results = ACCCCCCD
(Grade 12) AS Results = BCEEUU
&
Didn't do my A Levels (Grade 13)
May y'all please share with me international universities (Especially in - Canada, South & North America, Europe, and Australia)
That I can apply to
And that would accept me
@wintry moss wait Grade 11 is IGCSE & Grade 12 is AS
In Mozambique we consider it like that, yes
Also, I've completed 1 semester in a local university
With a scholarship
I'm putting myself in a very vulnerable position 💀 (it's better than just sitting at home and regretting), I don't like my grades. I wish I could've gotten A's B's and C's. But I didn't, I have to work with what I have. I know that I would've gotten better opportunities but unfortunately that wasn't the case for me. And now I'm finding it hard to look for uni's and I'd love and appreciate your help ✨
Full scholarship ?
If possible 😭🥺
Did you pass maths and English IGCSE with C’s and above I noticed you got a D in a IGCSE subject
Also have you started the IETLS if English isn’t your first language
Maths C & English D -
But in AS I got B in English
I am pretty certain American universities the one you have hinted at require you to sit the SATs as part of there Admission process
I did English as my First Language in Both ( because it is)
Based on your circumstances I would suggest to do a international foundation year
You still need to do the IETLS though since English isn’t your first language
I actually have no problem going into a foundation yr, although I can only do it if it's a fully funded ( my folks ain't got the money 💀)
What do you want to study btw is my main question?
Business Management/Studies
Do some research into international foundation programme in Canada and the USA many of them will accept you with just IGCSE alone however in terms of scholarships idk
Alright, thank you @hearty robin 💙

hey guys, is it okay to request a letter of recommendation later on? like after I graduate high school
Yeah, I requested my recommendations letter after my graduation as well!n
university of Alabama at Birmingham accepts igcse students and you can get good scholarships there
🥺
I Have a Doubt
so Basically is CSE course Offered in any country?
If I don't study CS in my IG'S & AL's
See In some countries we have high school till grade 13
Hence g11 was igcse for him
Nice
Oki
hi, anyone here doing Shariah or Islamic studies (undergrad) in KSA?
Hi I’ve done AS Maths and Phy. I too wanna apply for foundation year as a backup. Im giving A2 in may 2023, and have applied to some unis. Should I still apply for foundation year in case I don’t get my preferred alevel grades? Im planning on doing CS btw.
Even if you don’t get the grades to get into the degree programs I would still suggest for you to just retake A-levels again it’s less expensive than doing a foundation year at university
Uhh
wut bout mine
what do you mean
i don’t understand your question
is Computer Science Engineering offered in University
if I haven't studied CS neither in IG's nor AL's
You've asked this so many times
I'm getting clarified so that I don't suffer in my life
did u get it?
If you're so worried then study some programming by yrself beforehand
well
Good luck doing cs private tho
I will learn in Summer Vacations
yup thx

say if I were to apply to a uk university and defer my entry for 20 months (I have to serve the military service), do I need to retake my IELTS again?
because I heard it's limited for 2 years only
It says 2 years, but 20 months is still 4 months away from 2 years so u might be able to make it in time
what if I don't
also what does this mean?
pls don't tell me
means u can’t apply for 2022 entry, only 2023
you can still apply dw, just for next year :)
ahh then change ur courses to 2023 entry, it prolly says that cause u have a course that is for 2022
how do I do that
OH
nvm
haha yea
I got it haha thanks
ofc :)
ohh have u tried removing the course and then adding it again to change the year?
yep
oh wait
bruh I got mixed up with biochemistry and biomedical mb
what does IMD stand for?
hmm no clue tbh
it’s too connect with a school
so ur teacher can send it off
u don’t need it if you aren’t currently going to school
Oh wait you mean one could apply through ucas without being connected to a school? I’m homeschooling.
Yeah but it’s not recommended though
Your school provides you with a reference and predicted grades
you can also upload LORs yourself if you have them
LORs?????
letter of reccommendation
I don’t think my school is registered with ucas. I asked the vice principal of the school where I gave my AS exams this year, no reply. I don’t think she knows what UCAS is 😭
Hi guys okay.. Sorry cause im about to dump alot but i need suggestions or rather advice
Im currently doing (basically done just wait for end year results) AS level bio, chem and English as for the other subjects (physics and maths on IGCSE) i didn't meet the requirements to go with them to AS so i just proceeded with the 3...kinda abit off topic but our school had us take a psychiatric test to determine which field best fit u.. Apparently medicine does and im down for it all the way.. Now here's the real problem i dont have maths and physics on AS so now im in a academic crisis.. Our country doesnt necessarily offer A2 level yet..
So now ive got 2 options
- Is to redo my physics and math to get great grades on IGCSE and try to get into a foundation year
- Redo my AS level subject and apply.. cause honestly i know i didn't do great at all
- Go back to grade 11 redo all my igcse subjects amd and work my way back again to AS 🥲
meds have fr high requirement... are you sure abt that?
cz like most off ppl ik that can proceed to meds will have like at least 2A*2A for their Alevels
yeap :)
you still need to get a reference and stuff but it’s possible
thats the thing.. im willing to further my A levels but there aren't any institutions offing that.. and thats really frustrating
Can you not take your A2 levels as a private candidate
I think to even get into a foundation programme that’s recognised by the world health organisation you need A2 to get in
i haven't thought of that. ill do more research on it thanks
Gave +1 rep to Katnix#1021
Hi Guys
I need help from all of you 🙂
So basically a summary of myself:
I am a computer science geek and I love CS too much. I wanna get into a UK Russell Group Uni
(For CS), I have currently finished IGs and I am at AS level currently and hopefully going to A2 / A levels in the future. I am willing to do anything to achieve this and I mean it. One more thing, I am an international student so if this makes me any different from a normal UK student please let me know 👍
Here are my problems:
My school is highly limiting and only allows 6 subjects for IGs and 3 for A levels, I have taken 6 Igs with 2A* for CS and Physics, 3 As, for maths, Chem and Business, 1 B for First Language English
I am doing my AS exam in May/June next year and I am planning to do 3 A levels as that is the maximum.
My questions:
Should I take more IGs or redo them, and if so what are the IGs I should do and when if possible so I could prepare for it and not miss the deadline for the resume submission?
Should I take an extra A-level and AS-level subject and if so which?
Any tips to get into the university would be lovely to hear.
Il be forever grateful for this advice you guys give me 🥰
I am really new to this whole procedure and life has been difficult for me to catch up to
Good day, folks I want to ask if anyone here has any ideas on where I should start and what topics come in basic since I don't know much about computer science and my test is on December 12th (it's the basic one like so basic). I was initially studying medical but I was unable to pass the entrance test, so I'm now studying computer science. I would be very grateful if anyone here could offer guidance on where to start and what supplies are fundamental.
if we are talking basics then start with binary representation and spiral from there
you could google up the syllabus of A level computer science, 9618 for ideas of study material
AS level syllabus if we are strictly talking basics
hello everyone.
could you guys help me in choosing a good course to do after a levels(phy, chem, bio and fl eng)?
with chem and bio you could do medicine, doctor, biotechnology for a mix of everything
petrochemical if we focus on chem and phy
I would say most engineering fields but like those usually need maths too
or you could completely branch out into computer science simce you'd usually start from scratch anyway but then again you might need maths
depends on the uni I guess
for UK universities, do they need a reference letter from every subject lecturer? or is just 1 reference letter sufficient from one chosen lecturer?
Just 1
ok thanks

which is better? choosing 5 courses where 2 are from the same uni or 2 from two separate unis?
it'll likely be the same admissions team looking at the different applications for the same uni if the courses are similar enough
Hey
Can someone tell me the advantages of A-levels in igcse board and in which aspects it would help me in the future
I don't know what I'm going to do yet but I'll probably do business studies or literature so I don't think A-levels would be of any help right?
And which colleges are best for business studies in India?
Is there an alternative you're comparing it to?
You need some form of 11th and 12th to enter uni
Is that a bad thing?
not necessarily, i just think youll have a similar chance of getting in for both courses no?
Wait what
IGCSE's are like the pre-requisite exams for A-levels
A-levels is what you apply to university with, the only IGCSE's that are mandatory is maths IG and English IG
You can't just do IGCSEs and quit then if you want to end up at uni
Not exactly
Hey, I was wondering if anybody is studying medicine in the UK?
I mean i did all the research for it, but applying for bio hem now
if u have a question i’ll most likely know it :)
ooh okayy so I actually wanted to know like an average fee you would be expected to pay for enrolling into a medical school
right if ur a uk citizen/national it would be about 10,000 - 12,000 quid per year but if ur a international its gonna be about 50,000 - 60,000 ( ik oxbridge is that much) quid per year
it’s quite expensive if ur international
oh damn 😭 that is pretty expensive, thanks for answering btw
Bruh 50?? Non medicine is £21-25k outside of Oxbridge and London
Also Oxbridge is unnecessarily expensive
literally, like I can study my whole life and get all the grades but never come up with the money 😂
thanks a lot for the advice!

Can someone one tell me the advantages and disadvantages of mid year intake in australia and how it may hinder me if it does in anyway?
it’s so god damn expensive
it’s legit just the name at this stage
Branded 😔
my parents keep telling me to apply even through my predicted grades are not sufficient what should I do
I'm just missing by one point
just apply
atleast give it a shot
don’t worry about it :) loads of unis have low predicted requirements
the worst that happens is u don’t get in anywhere. In the end you’ll will get the alevels grades and you can call up the unis and say this and this, or email them ur personal statement ana d stuff and see what happens
yea apply to ur dream one
yes you may not get in, but at least u tried
they say 2 aspirational, one at ur level and 2 below ur level or smth along those lines
as long as u got a good range then dw
aim high so you can at least land in the middle
and who knows, maybe you'll get in
never know until you try
Yeah it’s usually like that you take one dream two you know you can get into and two as back up in case you don’t make requirements
is unsw good for engineering degrees?
anyone here applying to cardiff uni
@simple lake Are you going with a scholarship or without
well SAT is mostly ig maths so you will be fine and you will probably in 11th grade
dont know about that
Gave +1 rep to Slimshady#7669
how do i actually start applying i am so lost i dont even know where to start from, aside from getting the uni you have in mind i dont know where to go from there
go to the desired unis website, apply online, make sure to read all the required information, pay the application fee, attach all ur documents and ig wait for the conformation message.
sounds pretty simple enough
thanks

what can I do with a bachelor's degree in the uk
can I still apply to other unis for my masters?
is it through ucas or I apply on their website?
Masters apps are individual and not through UCAS
But yes you can ofc apply for masters, you normally apply in the beginning of your final year
Although for most STEM degrees it is popular to do the integrated masters course
qatar uni the best
Hey! Does anyone have any ideas on what scholarship I can possibly obtain with those grades:
- 8A*s in IGCSE
- 3A*s in A-Levels
I’m planning on studying dentistry in the UK, but, the fees for international students is ridiculously high, my best shot is to aim for a scholarship and cut the fees down. Any ideas on what I could possibly get with that, and where?
USA I guess?
If anyone here is from turkey do yk any universities in ankara which offer dentistry in english
Ankara university??
does it accept int students
Yeah, it does!!
Yea but is there alot of international students or is it a rare probability that an int student gets accepted
Cause i know alot of uni's there are like that 😭
It is quite popular for intl students!
I think there are more than 4000 intl's studying!
Omgg that's so good to hear thank you sm
Gave +1 rep to Konsept#2679
Yeah easily. They have a minimum score of 1100!
Yea I know but do you happen to know the median SAT score for the students who got accepted
Nope!
Hello guys
I need help
I want to apply to UK universities as an international student and try to get financial aid...what's the process?
apply to unis, wait till you get accepted and they ask u for fee status
same for any fees tbh
then u fill out a form that should include financial aid stuff
and there ya go
@burnt fox I want to apply via UCAS but I cant find info about my profile and grades
Yeah
did you put that buzzword thing in?
i did not see anywhere to put it in?
once you fill in all the info u can then u pay and send it, it goes to a teacher and they would add predicted grades and everything
ohh then i’m not too sure, you should message ur teacher and say i need to connect it to the school
okay thanks
Yeah I found out my school doesn’t do that 💀 apparently they aren’t registered
people who are asking questions like does a uni accept international students
universities have websites
I agree
With what ramen says here
Most of the stuff asked here are you easily google able
You don’t exactly need an answer
Tbf tho websites are made to make them look better than they are
So asking people's opinions of how it actually works is good
yes but questions like if a uni accepts international students and what it’s grade requirements are
the website isn’t going to tell you the wrong thing lol
But the minimum grade requirment isn't necessarily the median grade
Which the website doesn't tell you
the answer is still probably going to come from the internet
I just think people should start doing their own research at this stage
For sure yes but it's also daunting on where to start and it's not like people are pinging you personally lol
If there are people who will answer their questions then let them
That's the whole point of this server
Hi everyone, so I’ve currently applied to university of exeter, cardiff, birmingham, southhampton and leeds for the accounting and finance program, i am still yet to receive any offer letter, but what one is the best one?
Hello, anyone know if I can get into Swedish unis (physics major) with AS levels?
I tried looking into the reqs but i still have zero clue abt equivalency
In Which University does CSE Course Offered in India?
A ton
I didn't asked you @charred fern
How come you didn't tag the person who you did ask
I asked the members who are in India
-.-
he is from other country
ty tho
bruh
do you have to have already done ielts when applying through ucas
or do you just need to have it before accepting a university's offer
Varies from uni to uni
Check up on their webpage
But I think if you haven’t done it it’s fine like you can do it after you get accepted
But better to check either way
ohh thats good to hear thank you
question - would a university ask you for your fee status if they weren’t already considering you?
It's admin so it might have nothing to do with the decision
They might be completely different teams doing these things
actually i searched up the lady who sent the email asking for that stuff and she’s an undergraduate admissions officer
Still admin
Does anyone know any good unis that accept igcse or as level
A lot do
Can you please name them
I don’t think it’s possible to do that
Uhhhhh that’s a lot
Just search online
You will find them
Just FYI in India cse first year you have to study chemistry and stuff non related to computer science.
okay?
this is why I tell people to use google
especially if you have a problem with everyone who tries to help you
hi is there a specific way to check for admission dates and like the grades you need to get in ? cuz ive been on uni websites and it dosent include these info
its usually in there just hard to find
^^
will it be a problem
if i take 2 subjects
in A2
I have 3 subjects currently in my AS
welp
Most universities require 3 A2s at least
if u gonna bitch about it simply dont ask ffs.
-.-
ik that some colleges accept 2 AS subjects instead of an A2, so maybe if u can take an additional AS sub on top of the two A2 subjects. Or look for colleges that accept 2 A2 + 1 AS subjects
there are unis that accept 2 A Levels but you need something to go with it like either 1-2 more AS Levels or 3 IGCSE's. For example im planning to apply to some unis in my country with 2 A levels and 3 IGCES , but pls check the unis you want to go to bec every uni has its own requirements and this doesnt apply everywhere, ideally tho you want to have 3 A levels as its the 'safer' route
Tho if you are aiming for the top tier universities i dont fancy your chances with anything less than 3 A Levels , again it all comes down to the uni's you are interested in
i d say counseling agencies know the best! hire one if it’s really needed:)
the thing is most unis have a point based system. like A* is 3 points per subject. So more the subjects the better cuz it will increase your points. And obviously some have a set requirement in regards to number of subjects and which subjects
IDP is free btw if they work with the country you want
yuppp i’m aware and they’re really good
they’re actually helping me with on of my country application
Hi guys do any of you know any sports college around Europe that are good?

For finance - is Melbourne uni or imperial college London better?
Heyy, is anyone planning to study medicine in Qatar or the Middle East
i live here, i don't plan on studying here though
any questions? i live in dubai and i can answer any questions regarding
i know there's nyu abu dhabi which is the best university here
otherwise, university of wollongong, middlesex university, and herriot watt are pretty popular but i know for a face wollongong has a great campus and herriot watt is right beside it and has its own place too
i went to university of wollongong in dubai for a spring business camp last year so if anyone's got questions just mention / dm me and i'll answer
what about ajman university
or sharjah?
why dont you plan on studying there??
I live here too, and to put it, simply, there are much better options in other countries, and a lot of universities in the UAE are overpriced too
because i'm planning on going ivy league, i've got bigger dreams than what the UAE has to offer. i'm pretty sure the best uni here is only like top 200.
i've never even heard of this one
sharjah's mid, it's in like top 600
Y'all know of full scholarships in the UK?
💀
anyone knows if ucl or kings has like a fencing club
Google for a fencing society, it'll come up on their students union page
alright
Hi,has anyone applied to the University of Alberta in Canada?
hey guys do yall know any good international universities in turkey that accept igcses 11 years
agreed
i agree wholeheartedly, the universities here don't have much to offer
if a university has ABB as entry requirement and you get AAC is it okay ??
depends on what subject you get the C in
if its a core requirement then it might not be
so your C was in chem?
yes
what are you applying for? also check their website
computer science
if its not too competitive it might be okay
in any case, look for info from them and if not then just apply
alr thanks
worst you get is rejected
well don't want that obv
true but its worth sending the application
Hiii guys, does anyone know any good engineering university in Cyprus??
woahh, been a while
north?
waiting for UK offers now
will taking cs as the fourth subject and scoring good in it, increase my scholarship chances?
i plan to study engineering in university
For A levels, I plan to study physics, chemistry, mathematics and either cs or bio
which one should i choose between cs and bio
drop bio unless you want to do med
but for biotechnology, don't I need to know about biology?
what degree is it? is it engineering?
also check requirements in the country you want to study, it may not be necessary
as an engineering degree, they might have a biology crash course at least thats what my sisters uni did
since they expected students of engineering background
i want to study them in either australia, usa, canada, japan, uk or in the netherlands
check at least one in each country
btw does Netherlands offer full scholarships to non-eu students?
alright thanks a lot
no worries!
if it helps, BSc Biotechnology in manchester has bio on the list but not necessary
but keep in mind its a BSc and not a BEng/ BTech
hey guys! I'm planning to take automotive engineering in germany since it's one of the best places to do so if i wanna get into the car industry in the future; but from what i researched, some of the universities that are good in automotive eng are ranked quite low to the point its above top 1000s or even 3000s, do you guys think university ranking matters in the long run? (this is for undergraduate/bachelors degree) thanks!
Advice from an A2 student
I’m assuming you wanna get into the manufacturing and designing industry under automobiles right? Well for starters good luck with your endeavors! University ranking may effect job opportunities as I am told, so getting into a top 100 give a higher likely hood of companies hiring you on the spot. Of course, after your bachelors, aiming for a masters for mechanical engineering may reap a few more benefits to which a higher rank university may provide with.
Ranking actually depends on a few categories. You have the student experience, the individual course itself, the student to staff ratio, employment after graduation percentage, course satisfaction, and sooo many more factors. Yes, Germany is a great place to do automotive engineering, but be cautious. Just because <insert country> is good for <insert industry> doesn’t mean that every single university is made for automotive engineering, especially if those that have a low course ranking.
My recommendation is to go over the course satisfaction and the employability and find about 3 unis that have a good balance between all the factors. Do speak to your student counselor of you have one! And remember! I’m still doing A2, so take or leave my advice 🤪
Alright! Thank you so much. Do you have any suggestion on where to get credible sources on employability or the course satisfaction over the years ( such as by alumni ) or something?

Start with this one
https://www.topuniversities.com/university-rankings/university-subject-rankings/2022/engineering-technology
You can also look for a program here
Discover university programs worldwide with our interactive Program search tool. Use the filter criteria to list programs by location, universities or study level.
For the employability too?
It should be there..
I’ll give a check
So according to this article, what matters most are transferable skills
Find yourself a good uni with a course that provides hands on experience and practicals in their course modules
For the course modules, you’re gonna have to check each one of them individually, but if you send the unis here, I can help getting the course list
Such as vocational trainings I believe?
Internships usually
is studying medicine in egypt worth it ?
guys
does anyone have a link for all the scholarships
i need to apply for a UNI
a link for all the scholarships in the world?
idk maybe?☠️
every website is diff from the other im so lost
i think being more specific would allow others to help you more
Europe?
is it unlikely to get into LSE without doing further maths?
Well I am not studying med in egypt but somewhere else and I think I can answer the "Is studying medicine in [Insert Country] worth it" questions
Let me start with first of all, what are you looking for?
Saving money? Want a hot/cold country to live in? Want to live away from your parents? Etc
Generally in terms of curriculum, by the time you finish med school, Im fairly certain all med schools would've taught you the same stuff
