okay so, he was expressive in TOA, but what aboutt??? i will agree thta i really liked his passion towards that project he started, and as for ||the sacrificing part, i loved him by that point, i absolutely bawled when he passed, genuinely was pained by that, even tho most readers/critics view that as a desperate measure taken to shoot book interest rates||, as for percy being overrated, i don't think thas true, his character is annoyingly likeable, hes witty, caring, literally too loyal, and gives importance to the small things that matter

once again, like i said, i don't dislike jason, hes an amazing character, but in comparative analysis, id go for percy

i dont know why but because my friend forced me i tried to read -" i fell in love with hope" and i really couldn't stand it. In every sentence she tried to include a metaphor, and it was just a waste of words. the reader does not need to be spoonfed emotions, and they didn't feel deep or anything. She tried to make every sentence a tumblr quote or instagram quote or something, and i guess it worked because the book went viral.

i think she could have cut on the descriptions a little and edited it more ;-;

Omg I feel the same way frfr like some of the metaphors were actually good. However she literally overdid it which took away from the meaning.I read the whole book in a time span of 3 months on and off, tbh that's how wierd and perspectiveless the writing was. The plot was pretty okish; I feel like you'll figure out the ending pretty easily if not for the superfluously complex sentences.

I would still reccomend to read the entire book but if you feel like it's not worth your time feel free to drop it

Okay so uhh I need some input for this project I'm working on. (It's multi-media but this is the novel part so I think this is the correct channel to ask?)
The main character to this story is kinda like a jack-of-all-trades-master-of-none type, yk?
And there's this scene where they go the city of heroes and they meet all the other heroes and the other heroes are kinda like "So... what's your talent?" and the MC is kinda like "I... Don't have one" and anyway they have to deal with the very human fear that they might just not be good at anything
So uhh I need data on how y'all would deal with that fear because at the end of the story it's revealed that this character is the hero of humanity (Not much of a grand reveal cause that's also the title but yk)
I've always seen this project as like. A collaboration between emotions feelings and stuff and I'm asking a bunch of people the same thing

I was gonna write a few examples
But then realized I was just yapping
But its honeslty depends on you character's personality,mental state or/and the backstory.
Are they the type to bury their emotion and slip under. Amask of indifference?
Are they the type to lose their cool easily and snap at eveyone? Even the ones who try to help?
Are they the type to find solutions to their problems even if the solutions could be fatal?
Or are they the type who talk about how they feel with people they trust and create a support system?
Under stressful situations, do they overwork themselves until they crash and burn?
You have to look at their personality. That would help you figure out how they would handle situations.
But in most scenes like, the character almost always ends up depressed and insecure whether it builds up or
It happens immediately.
First they would be in denial until the signs become to hard to ignore. How the character reacts after depends on you.

In my casemy character would go through
Denial and avoidance (huding behind a mask of indifference whil feelings like resentment and jealousy begin to eat at them) They would try to convince themselves they are perfectly fine without powers but as time goes on the facade gets harder and harder to maintain

Realization. The mc no matter how much they try to deny would eventually come to the realization they are more vulnerable than they refused to let themself believe . This realization might become known after a certain event where the mc wpuld be in position where they aren't strong enough to stop or assist in.
Isolation and Depression. After the realization, the mc might try to keep yp the facade but self doubt and anxiety might cause them to spiral down into a depression. Others might try to help them after witnessing them slowly descend but the mc wpuld unknowingly begin to pull away from everyone, hiding behind their shell. During this slwo descent into isolation and depression, emotions like anger and envy become harde rto hide and control. Depending on you the.mc could also tr yto find ways to become stronger whether physically or magically. My character would choose the physical route.
Acceptance. After a certain event or certain conversations with another character, the mc wpuld slowly come to term with being powerless. The would slowly stip seeing it as curse ajd hinderence and begin rebuilding their relationships.
They would stop overworking themselves and put they know skill to good use.
Now depending on the type of storyline, the may be different events that coukd occur to bring the character to this stage. Whether someone gets hurt by them or someone beats the realization out of them.

Anyway this is how I would deal with my characters emotions
From Denial and fake happiness and indifference to depression and uncontrollable rage and envy to finding peace and actual joy or more depression
Depends on the plot

• Psych101, A pretty good book with basics although some words may be a bit difficult
• Surrounded by Idiots, there are a few other similar titles by the same author and all are about dealing with different types of people, it wasnt a bad book and I kinda enjoyed it (although Ive read an Arabic translation)
• Atomic Habits, this was a really good read in my opinon - more of a self-help too but Goodreads put this with psychology books

Other books:

• The 48 Laws of Power, Ive heard this was a pretty good book on social skills - more of a self-help book I would say
• How to win friends and Influence people, I believe this is what you would be looking for.. and I found this an interesting title (Ive seen it several times in a bookstore)
• Psychology: A complete introduction, I have books from the same series but I havent read this one; the other books Ive read were intuitively easy to follow (although Im unsure about the complexity of words) with end-of-chapter questions too

nope it's not really philosophy. it's about two boys and their love story. what i really loved about the book was that the author didn't make them your 'token gay character'. you know how some authors just add LGBTQ+ characters just to gain 'woke points'? and then end up forgetting to give them a personality? yeah this author doesn't. he gives both of the boys a beautiful personality that is also flawed. so they feel real, you get me?

and it's their love story and their journey of discovering their sexuality and then realising their feelings
