@plain pawn how about the bot being able to move in both x and y direction without having to rotate, like you place 360 degree rolling balls under the bot itself. And then wedges or a spinning roller which will help the bot pull the ball towards itself. If you are allowed, maybe apply a sticky glue to the rollers( the ones which handball players use)
