AS and A2
I won't be able to do 4 A-levels within 18 months
You said you’re looking at QQML right?
you can do the AS exam and self study A2 without appearing for it
QMUL
Yea sorry
wdym without appearing for it
like don't give the cie exam
You need A level math or CS as one of AAB/ABB
So you have to take the full a level math
oh then you'll have to do it
yeah however if you don't have computer science or maths A-level
the entry requiremnts are one grade higher
There’s no way around it
AAB-AAA
Uhh I don’t think that’s how it works
if you don't have computer science or maths
that's what it clearly states on the website though
can you send a ss
so you read it wrong
It doesn’t make sense tho
How come
it does to me
cause they don't offer a foundation course for computer science either
You could have 3 random subjects unrelated but A* A* A*. If you get ABB all of a sudden you need to have math or CS
yeah
so you I just need
3 AAA
and I can do the computer science course at QMUL
what are the modules
are there
I’m not completely sure so don’t take my word on it
Either email the uni or someone else can help
like are they heavily based on computer science
alright
does no one here take computer science at QMUL
@unreal canopy
yeah
The entry requirements is saying
In order to get an admission offer or whatever. You need to be taking either Math or CS or both (your choice). The grades you get in your results must be B or Above
Yes however
you can
still do
computer science
if you don't have maths or computer science A-level
if you get AAB-AAA
For example this is a results card that will get an admission vs a card which will not get one:
Math - B
Physics - B
Chemisy A
Computer science - C
Math - A
Chemistry - B
should I self study AS-level Maths to prepare myself for computer science
and take it in the November series
@sullen fractal he or she is right though
Ik they worded it like that but it doesn’t make sense to me
Grades AAB in any subject i think? (The requirements is vague as fuck) or alternatively..
Bro whoever wrote that needs to retake AS English
Shitty misleading Requirements
I will try contacting the admission team for QMUL
Yea email them
Yea that’s your safest option
However that seems to be the case though
Email for confirmation
I also took a look at this page
School of Electronic Engineering | Queen Mary, University of London
@unreal canopy although
Despite how it is worded
I strongly believe that you need at least Either Math or Computer Science to get an admission
Still ask em tho
do you think
did you take a look
at the
Yes
website link
I did
I showed you
Yes
yeah
But
Like
If someone has German, French and English AAA like @sullen fractal said
Will they get an admission
I could self study AS-level Maths
with a online provider
and do the exams in November
and get the results before the januarary deadline
but if the requirements need math then you need to do A2 to complete the A level
damn I shouldve done that
Is A level math that difficult that you can't do it without a tutor? (Genuine question)@sullen fractal
I'm tryna self study all my A levels
0 tutor
you can 1000000000% do it without a tutor
look
Thank God
no
first of all
they said
they degree course
is catered
so that even if your a novice
@unreal canopy email them
E m a i l & I n q u i r e
yeah
I wanna know
I do that tomorrow
when they open
most computer science courses assume you don't have any knowledge in cs
but idk about math
I really wanna know how many people who haven't studied maths or computer science got into QMUL
and what they personal statements were like
and what extra curricular clubs they did
and what they did outside of school
and any relevant work experience they could of done
pretty sure you just need to know how to subtract add multiply etc
did yall see someone stole a personal statement
Where
on r/6thform
💀
who
Plagiarism
idk but i read it a week ago
so what's the story
how did they know someone stole someone's personal statement btw
Someone else probably wrote it
Someone saw it
Copy paste
stolen
it's not like it's copyrighted or anything
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Well they did.
would know
UCAS
HAS THIS ROBOT AND PLAGRAISM CHECKER THAT CHECKS FOR ANY SIMILARITIES BETWEEN YOUR PERSONAL STATEMENT AND OTHERS SO IF YOU BEEN CAUGHT COPYING SOMEONE'S ELSE THEY WILL NOTIFY THE UNIVERSITIES YOU HAVE APPLIED FOR
AND THAT COULD LEAD TO YOUR OFFER BEING WITHDRAWN
they can't
That's uh called
My mom uses it
Turnitin
Or something
It generally checks plagiarism
In thesis', papers etc
why are you screaming tho 😱
oh I had caps on oops my bad
nope
its all true
@slow widget prove me wrong if you don't believe it by actually googling it yourself
Think the post got deleted or I can’t find it
yeah sure
bruh
https://www.ucas.com/undergraduate/applying-university/filling-your-application/fraud-and-similarity
@slow widget
read this
it proves I am right
Eh a lot do, just not me
💪 😎
ohh nice
still @slow widget do you think
that self studying
AS-level maths
would be helpful
and may make QMUL look at my application more favourably
In the comments he says he ripped the first paragraph lol

Also some glitch in the matrix shit is happening cause I vividly remember seeing a post about someone stealing one
work hard, theres no secret to it
Thank you for the wisdom and motivation
yes that happened i read it too
the dude sent someone their personal statement to help and the person straight up copied it and included all the work experience that they didn't do

ya
Hi, So I have to choose between IB or IG for my 11th and 12th and I cant decide. So any suggestions would be helpful to make my decision clear for me.
IB has much more workload coz more subjects but it's more recognize as well while in A levels you could do 3-4 subjects
wym by more workload? you mean EEs and portfolios, etc?
What about in terms of scoring? Is IB harder or IG?
yes
Yea
Yea
IG is till 10th grade. A levels is equivalent to IB in course content, etc. The only reason ppl say IB is harder is bc you have to do portfolios and essays but the thing is A level students who want to apply to the US, etc have to do those things anyways except it's not part of the coursework (like research and stuff)
yeah but A level students who want to go to US/ Canada unis (which is what most IB students aim for) have to do that kind of work anyways just that it's outside of schoolwork. But if you're talking in terms of only the course then IB has more but A levels is as good as IB in content
Thank you. This made my decision clear for me :)
I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask this but are there any useful websites or ways I can find out what degrees would interest me. (fyi: I am doing biology, chemistry, maths and further maths)
So I want to be looking towards something biochem related (but I'd also like to see what other degrees related to my A levels could offer me)
maybe choose a few unis you might be interested in and look at their course list?
yeah although i mainly wanna focus on choosing a subject or degree first then finding a uni most suited to that not the other way round
How long does it take to become a fully qualified lawyer in England
And also
If you went to a Russell group university for law how high is your chance in getting into a law firm
it usually takes about 3-5 years
yeah
not very high
Yo I have a question in mind
do I need social studies in IGCSE O or A levels to apply for a mechanical engineering course in University
I want to drop social studies if it is not required
Check your university requirements
Normally you wouldn’t need social studies to do a engineering course however that’s only for England may be different for other parts of the world
oh aight thanks : D
I need advice 😭 I plan to take Physics, Chemistry, Maths and CS in A levels and am interested in technology
Idk which field to go into tho
that's perfect then
Those are good subjects and open up a lot of doors. You still have some time to decide what you want to do specifically in technology
True
cross out those subjects which u arent interested in
Subjects are choosen
my bad hahhaa
.
but those subjects can lead u to various fields
perfect for engineering and CS/tech related
One of the reasons to choose those Subjects is that they are very 'open' to most STEM feilds
yeah apart from biology stuff
i did my a levels in these few subjects as well, apart from cs
Cool
Even if i was an international student coming from jordan?
You can pick up electronics or software engineering
Mechatronics engineering is also another good option
It will use something you learned from all the subjects
A level CS doesn’t have that much coding in it unfortunately
We only learn coding for like 2-3 weeks in AS and like 5 weeks in A2
Depends on your school
Yeah I guess
But it’s much worse than expected for me
There is I just so much stuff in it that I have to cram
I think an average student gets a high D in AS computer science and C in A level computer science :/
Idts
Ok but I was surprised by that lol
This is kinda offtopic we can discuss a level cs in #semi-colon or #chat-lounge
Ok
Wait
Do you want to become a Lawyer in the UK
Or study Law in England
Im thinking abt studying abroad, so im thinking abt UK or canada
If i get the chance to work there I wouldn’t mind
Right your from Jamaica
Which qualifications your studying
Jamica?
At the moment
Im an Igcse student currently studying AS IT, arabic and english
English literature and language or just English A-level
General
Nah I mean
Only this book, general paper
Which universities you thinking of applying to
I still dk tbh
Wdym personal statement?
Have you considered doing the LNAT by any chance
No
I mean writing a personal statement about yourself in England when your applying to universities in England everyone is required to write a personal statement as that strengthens an applicants application
I think you should if your applying to the really competitive Law courses in England
Ohhh yeah ik that, i thought were supposed to do that to all uni around the world not only UK
Okay
@twilit atlas which universities in England your considering of gonna to
Idk tbh
Still haven’t researched abt that yet
But do thry really focus on the o level grades?
Russel Group Universities are generally good ngl
Oh
Not really
Good news lol
Having a strong academic history and good school reference can actually strengthen a candidate
Application
It would help but if you can prove your academic strengths with the LNAT or other supercurriculars they could overlook your IGs
Nah man some top universities want to see a good set of gcses grades
So like i got a D in art, theyre not gonna look at that
Probably not how was ur other gcse grades like
Or O-level
Grades
I got an A* in arabic
2 A in english and IT
C bio and math
D art
As an international it's slightly less important than it is for nationals
The C is math might be slightly problematic however
Shiii
Nah
Its hard tbh
What were your AS grades
Wait so you got A*A A CC D
Im still studing AS, im taking It arabic and english
Yeah
Nah man it’s not
Loads of universities require only a C in Maths O-levels /GCSEs
It’s so hard
With this marks
It’s so fucking hard to get a scholarship anywhere
In canada we have to get atleast a B to get it
Scholarships in the UK for undergrad are basically nonexistent
Yes this
Except the 2/3k for A*s at a level
You would tend to see lower rank universities offering higher scholarships
So if i get A* in AS i can get a scholarship
Would be good for me
There are no A* at AS
There is no A* in AS
Lmao
I mean like A
Nop you would have to actually get the a level grade
You'd get admission based on predicted
And scholarship only when you receive the grades
Thats so complicated
@twilit atlas many universities in England don’t even consider your AS grades tbh
Oh
They only look at your predicted UCAS grade
Then what do they consider
Well the problem is a lot of people give up after getting predicted and getting admission
Whats that?
What your predicted to get into Universities
So it wouldn't make sense to give them the scholarship yk
Nah man some people give up cause some people get unconditional offers
What you predicted to get for A2
They do... The UCAS points are just a direct translation of the grades. Plus in a lot of subjects (not sure about law) they care more about the subjects and not just the aggregate score
Yes UCAS grades is basically your teacher prediction of the grade your gonna to get for A2
Oh ok
And that's directly dependent on AS
Nah Majority of Universities doesn’t care about UCAS tariff points they only care about the grade
For international people yes
However majority
Of people
In England
Don’t do AS anymore
They only do A2
So they rely solely on internal exams and mocks done by teachers in there school
Instead of external exams
Does anyone know anything abt canada scholarships ?
Ok thank u
You would become a lawyer quicker in the UK then in Canada I think
Yeah theres pre law in canada
i got pinged?
Um ye
Can i ask
1 year bar course
Oh
1 year pillage course
Um is uni there expensive, im really looking for smth payable
its really expensive for international
In England for international students its 20-25k per year
Yeah in England It’s much more lower then
THATS ALOT
Does the certificate differs if its college or uni?
What abt scholarships?
depends
Someone told me my grades has to be atleast a B to get one
you'll get one
but it wont cover expenses
and canada is not a cheap country to live in
I want atleast hald
I think law is probably max 23k (unless London or Oxbridge), stem subjects tend to be more expensive because of labs
@shadow tree do you know if doing the LNAT would strength your application
I am applying for Law at Durham University
It’s very competitive and hard to get into
Hmmmm
Scholarship like Mushu said are non-existent in the UK the max you would get is like 2-3k
For medicine not even that + more expensive than other courses
Ah
I don't know sorry, but I presume a good score would
Most scholarships exclude medical students
Section A is out of 42 points
But I'm not sure if there are medical specific ones instead
Ah alright
@lofty thicket you want to study medicine at university
By good score I mean good relative to the normal applicant average
I'm not familiar with the application process for law at all
I just be aiming for 35 or something
No asking for someone else
Your best bet would be to check the Durham website
In the LNAT
They don’t tell me how they choose applicants and how they decide they admission process unfortunately
But they'll have requirements
@shadow tree what course you doing in which university?
Try messaging students through unibuddy, it's a portal where you can talk to current uni students and ask them questions about applications and life at uni
Yeah which is A* A A
Maths and physics at Manchester
Fuck I need to get dressed and leave for a lecture😂 😂
I got 2k for 3 A*
But keep in mind other unis would give more
So less
4 A* actually but unis only consider 3 so
There this university in Scotland that offers a 40K scholarship
UoM has a requirement of A* A* A for physics
So keep that in mind
And this year the requirement itself is 3 A*
Yeah but Scotland works differently
But it isn’t every well known or anything just a normal university
You know Scotland home students only pay 1.8k per year for university
Yet in England home students pay 9k per year
Yeah I know 🥲
But as an international that seems very nice too
And Scotland does just about anything they can to spite England soooo
How much is your fees if you don't mind telling
25k but 23 with the scholarship
Euros right
Pounds
Oki
Mine is an auto renewing scholarship but some are not
See if there's anything you can qualify for from your government
Per year or for the entire course?
Rip
I just wasn't eligible for any Indian ones because I didn't live there
And Saudi doesn't offer anything to non nationals
It is, there's no denying it and while I'm grateful I'm able to afford the situation, a lot of people can't
But there are a lot of alternatives in Europe
I know there's a uni in Stockholm and one in Finland that has English courses
And Groningen in the Netherlands
Then again you should be able to get a better job graduating from that uni so it's kinda worth it
And you wouldn't be paying even the yearly fee in the UK for your full degree
Durham University offers a 13k scholarship for home students
If you're doing medicine at any decent uni you're automatically fairly employable
True
I am not interested in med was just asking for someone else
I am more towards technological feilds
Fairs
Do UK uni consider GPA?
Ah
Tbh as much as I'd like to go to a foreign university, I am just scared to do so
Don’t it’s way too expensive for international students just go to university in your own country
Living alone for 4 years
If I get scholarship ofc
Ngl living in England is crap I have calculated I would be in 60k debt
At most, I might do double degree if it isn't too costly
At university including tuition fees and living fees
Nah man unless it’s a full or even half scholarship don’t if it’s like 2-3 k per year
@lofty thicket where you from? Btw
India living in Thailand
Idk isn’t they any good universities in Thailand
There are I was just asking
Being a NRI it's ez to get into indian university but I don't want to go there
Like not at all
Where is the most cheap uni ???
If that's the only thing stopping you, I'd say go for it cuz you will live and learn
That's one of the factors
Double degree would be good in that case as I'd have to live abroad for only like 2 years
Double degrees are just more work😂 not less time
Hmmmm
You study at 2 universities right
So here for example, I've heard that like you stay here 2 years then 2 years abroad in a different partnered university
Ah
Schools here get more expensive or as expensive per year lol (I'm not in one that's that expensive)
26k pounds tuition
11.2k pounds refundable deposit
5.6k non refundable admission fees
That's the fees for the most expensive school in my contry
Yes
That's the most expensive one tho
But yeah the bigger schools cost a lot
Most bigger schools cost like 20k +
That's still very expensive!!
Yeah
Mine is cheaper
5.3k
I can study 1 year for the same price as the entrance fees of the larger schools
Stupid
um lol is it easy to find a job as a lawyer in canada or UK?
idk man in the Uk I would say difficult especially if your application isn't as competitive as others
dude same the min. for top schools here are like Rs 16 lakhs per year (around $23000) which is uni fees in many places so i didn't even bother looking at those schools when i was trying to join AS/A levels after IGCSE
best thing is to study well even if it's a small school
and save money for uni
guys im so sorry
for the same links
my spam
my account has been hacked.... i hv enable 2FA now....
26 lakes inr for the top
Here
And it has a decent number of students
Ppl are fucking rich here
where are u from
Jordan
If ur good enough u can get into Delhi University
Than one in india😟?
Yes, it good and pretty cheap
Germany for sure
I wonder about it’s international value
True though u still pay living costs and 98% of courses are in German
Still better than India though
That depends
On what?
Um how r scholarships there?
Do they focus much on my o level results?
What is the minimum mark to get a scholarship?
I wouldn’t count on it tbh
No they consider just your A levels
Have a look at the DAAD website
Why’s that
You don’t need scholarships for publice universities. They are cheap
They don’t have tuition fees but you pay for a semester ticket that varies but usually can be found under €200. That covers transport costs
There aren’t many and I’m not sure about the ones on the DAAD website
I was going to email them but I forgot. If I do remember to email then I’ll share my findings
Also what do you want to do for bachelors?
Guys how much work experience should I undertake for Law
idk i was thinking abt studing law
oh well youre going to need near fluent german for that
why is he thinking of studying in a german uni
do you know german?
they are looking at cheaper options
right
no
Try looking at Eastern Europe caus I think that's one of the cheapest options
Also did you do any research during IG and AS about Unis?
Like no offence but asking that question while in A2 is just a disaster tbh
Caus like some unis may have a deadline coming by in like a month or two
Im currently in AS
In that case as I said Eastern Europe tends to be cheaper than most other destinations
So might wanna look at that
Okay thank u
Nw
look at u calling me a disaster so casually 😔
i love it when experienced ppl think that every unexperienced person should know what they learned later on but without experiencing anything 🗿
its not like anyone told me and my class to look at unis during AS or IGCSE especially
not really
maybe they're doing their exams in march
maybe they're taking a gap year
maybe they're applying for entry spring term entry (Some unis have that)
maybe they don't have to apply until june or july
the maybes go on
Okay fair enough
Germany they have some courses in English also basically all Europe is good except UK they dont give many scholarships
DONT GO TO INDIA
I am indian and i ran away from that place to get better education
aim for prestigious places
and most unis in germany are free so u dont need to worry about scholarships
but you need B and above to get in if you get a C forget about it
Depends on the admission restriction
If NC then a good score will help
REALLY? omg
wait in all subjects?
cause i got a C in bio and math and i wanna study law
does these 2 subjects interfere
thts my igcse marks
also theres a D in art
ugh
courses in english as in i can study law in english?
No
wdym then
Maybe at a private university where You’ll have to pay
Germany’s national language is German so all ur documents and real life experience will be in German and I dont think there is a English law course at a public uni
Is mid exams important ?
@ebon dirge ^
Added discord-gfts.com to the blacklist
@livid grove has been banned for Nitro scam
look
igcse marks does not matter that much
if u got atleast a B in math or English it should be fine
but you need to check with the uni you want to apply to
for a levels aim for B and above
with a C it will get hard to apply to uni
hi guys any mechanical engineering out here?
Thank u!
Guys
Can someone go for masters in philosophy if they have a degree that is totally irrelevant to it. Like if someone has a bachelors in biology, can they go for masters in Philosophy?
Yes they can
Hey everyone Is it possible to apply for med school wit 3 subjects (bio, Chem and eng) on AS level while math and phy on igcse level🤔
No I don't think so
You will probably need math/physics, bio, chem at an A2 level and English on an AS level
But it depends on the university
So you should check the websites of the universities you're interested in
Cool thanks
How many IGCSe did you do
Depends on the country you are applying to tbh
All this information should be stated on the websites of the uni
you should check the individual uni, ik you defo need chemistry and one other science subject but i think most prefer maths , this is for the UK
whats the differnce btewen mechanical eng and manufacturing eng
one deals with mechanics other deals with manufacturing
does anyone know an engineering major that deals with neuroscience?
i definetely know this but could you pls get into more detail
biological ?? i guess??
Idk I was being sarcastic lol
sorry
bruh
lol no problem
what can i do if i am interested in ICT
What is cheaper canada or UK??
Depends on the university
just in general
like life there+UNI
what is easier to get accommodation there
Uh I think it’s the same
i'd say canada and i think its mostly cus they do more financial aid too
but ofc dont quote me on it
its just what i have heard
Do you mind If I DM? @zinc stirrup
Sure
You'll find that a lot of courses despite being called a different branch have a lot of common themes - My bachelors and first masters for example is in Computer Systems Engineering - but I shared modules with Electronics and Communications Engineering, and Biomedical Engineering students. To answer your question though, mechanical engineering is probably focused on topics such as thermodynamics, models, and anything to do with creating motion and energy. Whereas Manufacturing focuses on creation of new products - and designing systems that create those new products. But again, you'll see so much overlap between them.
We had a joke in engineering that we build Missiles, and Civil engineers build the targets.
wow
oh okok thanks so much , i get a clearer picture now !
hi i wanna ask if there's anyone who ordered TOEFL test (via ETS website), but couldn't take the test due to technical issues from the test provider (in this case, it is actually the proctor)
i was referred to talk it under college & uni, but i dunno where to talk under the category
tbh i already asked for a refund (as it wasn't my fault), but it's been a whole month ETS didn't respond any of my emails
now i completely don't have any idea on how to solve this case
So it is a centre's fault?
@slow widget might know about this
Did you call them?
Ik it can be expensive but if they don't respond by email then thats your best bet
yea, the button to connect me to the proctor wasn't appeared at the test date
so i can't take the test
like I spend 8$ (in USD btw) for about a minute
Um when I did mine I entered the room and the test screen was already there
It didn't ask for a code
Are you sure it wanted a code?
Also did you talk to the invigilator?
Ask them for it?
no
like this, i clicked the "Start the test" button from ETS, then i visited the proctorU page
then this happened
when it should show the button to me, so that i could join it
like a ZOOM meeting
You clicked start the test and then it wanted a code?
when you click and "open with ZOOM app" button should appear for you
nope, they didn't ask for it
Okay
oh ya, fyi I've asked ProctorU to help me with this case, but after 5 emails, they gave up and referred me back to ETS
You doing home edition?
Oh and when you clicked start the test what happened?
I'm not fully understanding you tbh so please repeat
ohh that's okay
so it should appear a specific button on the page that leads me to the meeting session, however it didn't appear at my test date
Ah okay so there was an invigilator waiting in a zoom meeting or whatever the software they use is for you to join the meeting? But the button to do so didn't appear?
You are giving TOEFL online?
yes
Elaborating on this, did you check if all the people that require your toefl don't mind the online version?
Okay so basically which email did you email them on?
the first one is ProctorU customer service, then ETS customer service
i did
like, sorry not to brag, but name it
i've done everything but not the international call
Okay then I don't know how to help but it looks like you've been scammed here
I mean I can't come up with any other explanation because you already contacted them so many times
What did the person in the live chat say?
they just literally asking for my evidences and i gave them
and after all of that, they gave up
this is from ProctorU team
but the ETS, not a single letter or word
btw thanks man for listening about my case here
May I ask why didn't you write it in a centre?
No worries
what?
wdym?
like contacting their representatives?
Like why didn't you go and do it in one of the toefl centers
ahh
No like do the exam in a centre
oh TOEFL essentials is the one like attracts me and i need the test result asap btw
Oh okay
My take on this is
Go to one of the test centres
In your country
And ask if they can contact ets on your behalf
And see if they can do anything
I doubt they can but like no other option here
hmm good idea, but is it like appropriate?
but whatever i'll try this
thanks for suggesting
well i'm still listening for other options from ppl in here
if any1 here could help me in solving this case, I am welcomed to listen to it from you
why don't you call them?
You should message all three with each CC'd, write in detail exactly what happened but keep it short. Demand the refund. They usually don't argue with it. Let me know what happens. Sorry about the late response. Hope it's already resolved. Could you let me know which country you're in? DM me privately. Sorry, I don't usually check this when I'm not at work - Also it might take 14 days for them to respond in some cases.
it's pricy, like i spend 8$ in USD per minute
i did that, but not CC'd each of them
my case has been 1 month btw
#self-promotion pls@full mantle
i want to go in aviation field . My aim is pilot and i have PCM CS ENG ECO as A level subjects
anyone who can help me to choose a course in aviation field
I am currently living in nz btw
what if we dont give mock exams in A2 will it affect to get into uni ??
is 1270's a good SAT score?
Depends on how you see it and the uni you wanna apply. Personally I think its mediocre score..
Asking for friend
Hey guys any suggestion for my friend he has 90% in matric but unfortunately 61% in fsc and have 1260 in SAT what will you guys suggest him
International student
nope it wont as long as u give ur actual alevels
I DONT EVEN KNOW WHAT I WANT FROM MY LIFE. Over one side, I see a philosopher/writer in myself. Over one side I see an engineer/Doctor in my self. Over one side I see a pilot inside myself. I can’t seem to decide what to do. I have no parental pressure. They just want to see me happy and financially stable. I am confused and having a panic attack.
What if I don’t get good grades. If I get a grade like C. Should I give composite or give it in October? Ir should I just go with the flow.
hey dunno my answer help or not
so, there is a term "ikigai" that I learned in past. You need to find a profession that is needed (meaning that is people need you to do it), can be paid as much as you wanted to, something you enjoy for the rest of your life (might be), and with that profession, you can always put a motivation and passion in it
if that doesn't help you, try to research every job that you wish to do in the future (or at least, try to find out what they should learn and know before taking the job)
then, try to answer, "why should i have to take this job? what makes me feel suitable at this job? is it benefit for me and the others?"
hope it helps
oh ya not to forget about this, every decision has its own risk
try to take a suitable amount or the job that has the risk amount that you can take care of. Not the least and not the greatest amount of risk

As for the answer to your question, you should look up the courses of some universities which interest you and after doing this research, you could ask here. This would make the answers you receive more fruitful
Ok sorry

A question out of interest : What subjects apart from Chemistry do you have to study about to work with hydrogen fuels? I find it interesting because Hydrogen fuel is very efficient and it could significantly reduce CO2 emissions.
Physics and maths probably
Fuels could come under engineering or physics depending on what aspect of it you wanna look at
And math is always relevant for a scientific degree
To be fair, math is almost always relevant everywhere excluding literature
But I see your point
Can confirm I published it 🤝
Can confirm I was the pen
can confirm that i researched
and maybe reduced the overthinking i had
here's what it said about 2 of my top career choices
and boy i'm starting to genuinely research these two fields even further
do u have a pdf copy or something of this book
nope
thank you for sharing. I will check it out
that book's technically got the summary of every damn job
that people actually care about
including possible skills, experiences and the kinds of jobs within that field
You can definitely not find the pdf online on the right website
Can u pin it pls?
hello, id like some advice about college, im currently moving from the IGCSE system to IB, does anybody know if your GPA is counted from your IGCSE's or your IB diploma(which one are the colleges more likely to look over?)
igcses have GPA?
The focus will always be on your last two years of schooling
Although they will look at IG too
nope, ive just converted my grades to an estimated GPA
oh okay, thank you!
I didn't know that you could accredit your A Levels in college.
it's just that almost every college in the Philippines doesn't know what an A Level Exam is...
ya a lot of places I checked had no info for A level students but had everything for GPAs
Hey, my father says that IFS is the perfect job for me as my personality was basically built for this
What type of questions come in IFS UPSC? I don't really have a lot of knowledge on Civics and History, but can I manage learning the required information?
for upsc you'd need at least a bachelor
Yeah, I mean I am practically planning my future now
yeah usually for upsc ppl do coaching after or during their bachelors to learn all the info
Yes. Can I catch up to Civics and History during those years?
late reply, forgot I sent a message here. So, I decided not to drop any and somehow manage doing all 4. Did well in all 4 subjects in the mocks, so no plans on dropping any, cie exams starting tmr, hope it goes well 👍
but, I still don't have any idea on wht courses to do or career path to take
subjects I took : IT, Math, Business and Accounting
I have e in physics As should i retake or go for A2 for taking cs field in uni??
What are your other a levels?
Math and cs
most unis will want AT LEAST 3 a-levels. idk what uni you're applying to but some require physics and some do not if you are planning to major in CS. check with the unis you're applying to but i would suggest you to have minimum 3 a-levels 🤷♂️
Thanks for info
Gave +1 rep to .oli#5805
no problem
oh they have a rep system?
wait since when
Hello me new anyways,
I am having difficulty finding a proper career path due to my weird subject selection for AS
They are:
Biology
Chemistry
IT
I took them because I do sort of good in them nothing too proud of. I have searched myself for colleges but most require if I go for science physics or if IT then math. I found some that don't fit the criteria but those are very limited/rare,. Idk what to do or choose. Currently in AS doing may,June exams.
If anyone can help me it would be greatly appreciated.
Drop chem/bio and add math for IT field
You sorta need math
Drop bio and take math
They mentioned that they're giving exams in m/j
I meant do math composite next year
ye that would work
Hmm yea that would work but problem is I am really not good at math reason why I didn't take it 😅 I got core 😔
To give excuses it was online and I hate to cheat I tried earnestly but still got core
Physics was fine but I wasn't confident I could pass it
I am Pakistani student from intermediate background planning to apply abroad can you gues list some university in which SAT matters most like Gpa and other things not matter too much btw I have 90% in matric (10th grade) and unfortunately 61% in fsc(12th grade)
And have 1380 SAT score planning for Cs major or accounting major or in business management in good rank university like up to 500 or something.specific not un usa like any where in abroad Turkey etc....
Grade 10&12 are the most detrimental for gpa and college applicant proces-
oh u dont want it in the us
ok quick question
since i am going to major computer science related area and/or maths, is it fine if i give up on chemistry? not fully give up, i will practice a day before the exam but should i just focus on other subjects
does having a bad grade on chem in the marksheet affect my chances of getting in accepted as a CS student
idek why i continued chem in A2 lol. fml
have you applied to a university
or do you know where you're going to apply
nope
US or Canada most likely
Better to drop then we can get better marks in other sub
well.. exam is on wednesday...
yes im pretty lost lol
yes i do understand stuff and love learning but couldnt get my sh*t together all this time even after my AS results
Same but i drop in A2
Hello
I am in o3
I am giving biology physics chemistry
But i hate chemistry
I have no such passion to become a doctor or smth
I am confused
Which career to follow
Please guide me
which other subjects do you like? for most biology streams they would require chemistry. You could drop chem and take pysch try something in pyschology
or you could add either math or CS instead of chem and go into computer science/engineering
Hey!
Does anyone have any advice on how psych is as a career?
or like taking it as a subject
What do you write on resume if you have no work experience or skills
you could put your most recent grades with subjects, and also the course and subjects youre currently doing. you could also put any small side skills you have e.g. Python programming or any Olympiads you did while you where in school
If I do AS levels, I will definitely have to do Foundation year, right?
@red plinth
yes surely, why not
but if you make new eq or formulas, I'll eat your brain with sum tacos
cuz that will be like 40 new pages, 3 chapters of equations and shit what not in the syllabus
Are you planning on only doing AS-levels and then going to university
I was thinking whether to complete A levels, but currently I have that in my plans
why not complete your A-levels then
yes
Hey everyone, i have a small inquiry. i would like to study medicine but i have been in and out of personal troubles that distracted me from studies a little bit. my finals are within these two weeks but i know i wont be able to score sufficient marks to apply. and i unfortunately havent applied to any unis yet. i was wondering, should i take a gap year, redo the exams and then apply in time? or what other choices do i have
i have taken bio chem and math. i am also wondering if i could maybe apply to a different field than medicine (for example computer science) with no cs a level grade
my friends went into computer science with 0 exp so ig yea
have you considered biomedical science or biotechnology?
if your AS grades are good you can apply in unis that accept AS marks
but for medicine i dont think applying with AS grades are possible
CS in specific you can do since you have math
So I really enjoy CS and I would love to apply it in real life so I though about taking mechatronics since it is like majoring in everything but at the same time having applied CS to it but am not sure if I should just take MET which mainly focuses on CS only
Yes I have but idk about the future of these career paths and how versatile they are, that’s why they were the second option to medicine for me
Do u think a gap year is worth It anyway?
To gain experience and maybe even take a second shot at the A2s
Gotcha I’ll keep that in mind
i am considering a gap year and repeat my alevels if i do not get accepted to any of the unis i applied to. however personally im not really with the idea t take a gap year because i know ill get too lazy to complete my studies
but most of my teaches advised me to do my best and if i feel like i didnt do that good, i retake my A2 in o/n
that way i dont have to wait until end of next year to get into uni
what types if engeenering are there except electircal, civil , mechanical?
Google all engineering types 👍
hey
Gotcha
Thank you bro
Which universities are you targeting?
Hey guys, so I'm 17 and I'm having some issues deciding on a career, and I feel like I'm already late, as I haven't given a thought about uni, which comes after I decide what I wanna do. So, I need some help, dm me or ping me the ones who can help! Thanks!!
engineering
electrical engineering
u can work at samsung or apple or tesla or sony
mske laptops cars phones
u have chemistry and physics
u can work with batteries
i have a q
yea?
duh
recently
a liquid robot was made
and can be controlled from outside
using magnetic field or something
and also there's this eye contact that has a display
on ur eyes
they're a place for biotech
eh
I’m 16 an I really enjoy CS and I would love to apply it in real life so I though about taking mechatronics since it is like majoring in everything but at the same time having applied CS to it but am not sure if I should just take MET which mainly focuses on CS only and like the things related to it any advice?
Cancer research is still very open
I’m 17 I have physics math and computer as my subjects for AS but I’m thinking to go in mechatronics but like most ppl say there no scope in that nd I have a little interest in CS but it’s like my hobby my profession I want engineering so like wat should I gl for ??
i think cures already found but they wont give it out soon
Nothing specific so far because i missed my ucat so I can’t really pick and choose. I was originally planning on going to the uk but now unless I take a gap year I can’t.
So I guess it depends on what my marks are/if I’ll take a gap year etc
Shit website can't register since a week
wrong channel 🤓
Can I get admission in universities / college with 4 AS Level . Undergraduate degree in Computer Science
any uni in mind that accept AS instead of A level
I think unis in Australia and New Zealand accept AS not sure tho
Nah not true, all of them need 3 A-levels
Idt there are any unis that would accept just AS levels, all of them require A2 , and usually at least 3 of them
Especially for popular courses like comp sci
They have a points system it depends on that
hey thanks dude ETS finally refund 100% my money, above everything else, I deeply appreciate your support
Gave +1 rep to Sanko#7293
guys if i fail my a2 what choices can i take to move abroad
should i do foundation or re do As nd a2
Depends how expensive foundation is
If you can then you'd actually learn a fair bit doing it
@lost walrus^^
yea ?
Hmm I know a couple of people who are in Australian unis with only AS
Depends on the course then lol, I applied to most Australian unis and for science courses, they def need A-Levels
Especially A-Level math
A friend of mine applied for biotech in New Zealand and got accepted and she can start without her Alevel
Tf
question, can you give retakes of as level components? after giving a2 (since a2 factors in percentage of a level)
No ig you can do all a level at same time
You're welcome!!
So glad to hear that!!
ohhh
Guys I need a little advice I want to apply in AMC (Pakistan) Should I wait for my A2 result or just apply without the result ? And can anyone please tell me the procedure of applying as well
Register on the app and then u can download the specific pdf
I am very interested in CS and kinda interested in mechatronics any advice?
I am planning on majoring in CS and then becoming like a software engineer / developer
Hey guys i have a question
How many of you are currently studying in Australia for university course currently?
@fresh hornet studies in Australia I think but other than him idk anyone else who studies there
alight thanks!

What are the daily lives of med students like?
Hell
Describe
Thoughts on electrical engineering ?
Its good but only if you like maths and physics alot
STEM usually pay quite a bit with good demand
Thoughts on architecture?
f science do buisness and make that paper flow!
flow is constant in science unless youre too lucky.
