but it should be affordable
But certain parents arent really good with it
Whats ur rough estimate
For a budget
Because US can be expensive
i have no idea what it would generally cost so unless i confirm i cant be so sure
how much would it be aprox?
ofc- tbh i never considered the option of parents moving, but some parents arent okay with you going to say australia or sth because its too far
Depends uni to uni
For average unis
thats per year?
yep
or per term/
tuition only per year afaik
ahh okay okay
a very rough estimate
so basically 60K USD for a year for other expenses
uk is around 20-23k GBP per year for any of the good unis
okay wait, tbh i am looking for some quality, like something reputed
can go upwards if you wanna go to ox or london
Living cost considered
and how much would a scholarship reduce that amount to?
im just talking about tuition
everything, including food
the uk doesnt really do scholarships
damn thats bad
you might get 2-3k off if you get all A*s otherwise not really
ahh alright lemme convert and check that
say 23+6 (rent) + idk ~1 food and going out
the thing is, i am actually really good in leadership and co curricular activities, i have a lot of certs and stuff in those lines
Sadly
wow thats gonna be expensive
Thats entrance qualifications
if youre not a national nobody really gives a shit
đ
Extra curriculars
Rent is how much again?!
Make ur uhhh
23+6
Application stand out
6k a year?
woww thats some sad reality
Involving extra curriculars
And getting into ivys
yes
Using
uni accom yeah
thats smart, but not something i would do
ehh
If u would be able to
yeah
okay okay
Dont go for dream unis
since US is off the charts
Theyre called dream unis for a reason
what about Canada?
yeah i get you
there are a tonne of people going for my place
i assume thats reputed
if you get the ⨠UofT ⨠scholarship youre set
lemme check it out
but its very selective
I wanna ping
4A*s isnt enough
ghost ping bad
how about, i take maths, puremaths, chemistry physics and IT (damn) and try my very very best for good grades, try to tell them i have a lot and lot of certs on leadership and all?
ECs will defo help
Cuz theyre the same
hayz just explain it to him
whats ECs?
Extra curriculars
but dont Uni's count that separate?
@cunning roost when u take maths in AS
U take either mechanics or stats
Along with it
Mechanis, stats, core, pure and further pure
i think thats it
yeah
And thats it lmao
that will be counted as one?
so they still dont count it?
Im p sure its valued more
if this helps
i do edexcel
not sure how edexcel classifies them
C1 here means pure maths
yes
Since i dont think we do core anymore?
but defo further will do more for you if you can do it
New syllabus is pure maths
i think edexcel also abolished that
Yeah no only pierrot and alexV
if it adds value for the scholarship i am down
yeah
In igcse
i have
you;ll have to finish normal a level maths in a year and do further after
Howd u do in it?
edexcel
it was great, not that bad but requires hella time
ill get grades in august
I mean if u give it time its possible
but i am guessing its a 9 or 8 grade
But it is only people who can breeze through pure maths stuff can do
My belief not fact ofc^
the thing is, if that adds value for landing a chance for the scholarship, i am ready to go for it, idc how hard it gets
which country is most prone for scholarships?
@shadow tree idk this lmao
yeah actually i am not sure of the country so idk who to contact even if i wanted to
i know you feel like that rn, but trust me 4A*s look better than 2A *s 2As and 2Bs so keep that in mind
dunno tbh
actually you have a very good point there
at least in the UK they only consider your top 3 subs
they dont care after that for entrance
Its sorta risk and reward type thing lmao
yea
but dont overdo it
there must be a limit
yeahh
esp now, its not the best time to stress yourself out lmao
theres kinda a pandemic doing it anwyays
A really hard subj
i actually got done with o levels, so i have holidays atm
No teachers helping with doubts
yeah
tutions?
Depending where u live
some people dont have access to them
yeah well luckily, where i live its not so bad so thats possible
online dont help as much tbh, i dont prefer them at all
okay wow BTW thanks a lot guys, can i add you as friends? maybe when you are free sometime we can have a tiny chat again?
and sorry if i took a lot of your timee
alright thanks for being there
yeah no worries
Nw
bye bye tc

Hello
So basically my situation is I'm planning on dropping A2 bio or chem and taking full A level business next year(this is because the uni wants a humanities subject so I need to do this) and I need advice on which one to drop like which one would be easier at A2?
This is caie btw
How did you find A2 bio compared to AS?
Is it much harder or is it not that much harder?
I found A2 bio easier than AS
But maybe that's just me idk
O okay
No because another person on another server also said they found A2 bio easier than AS
So I wanted to get multiple opinions on the matter
Ty btw
np
Well, A2 is quite easier bcos in AS level students learn to get tuned with Cambridge standards and what they expect you to write and learn. But they also struggle in AS level bcos they are quite new to the standards. By the time you understand the criteria and your brain starts to think in a more analytical manner, you enter A level and thatâs y you kinda learn to surf lol
But...hereâs one thing fella, the more your work hard, work smart and plan your year (goals) at the beginning, the more easy it becomes...then it becomes like a game
O alright then it should be pretty ez thanks!
tbh A2 bio requires more time to study as its heavily based on ur memorising skill but the chapters are quite fun thus seem more easier compare to As. thats how it seems to me atleast.
Youâre welcome
Yes makes sense
Sanko, I have a doubt dude. Whatâs the career you are opting for?
Well I originally wanted to do med but now I'm thinking of doing something like cs and management
Oh damn
I really didn't have a backup option for med which screwed me over tbh
Okay . But what do you wanna become?
Something like an app developer or perhaps manage some sort of cs related business
I'm just interested into these two fields but not sure on what I wanna do fully within them
Still doing my search on em
Hmm
So your two interest fields are med and CS related
Okay
Management and cs I'm no longer considering med
Okay
Caus the pathway to a med doctor is quite long and tiring tbh
Btw are you an undergraduate if you don't mind me asking?
I have just completed my A level from Cambridge
Oh nice
Hopefully you get into the uni of your dreams then
Yup thanks for your kind wishes bro . I wish you the same
All I can tell ya is to take your time ...do not hurry
Thank you!
Yeah true
Bcos once you decide something which youâll regret later...it will have consequences
Your future university will definitely observe your ASA together
True
But what does ASA stand for?
ASA means : AS and A level
Oh yeah true
We call these two level together like that
O okay
Yes
I just call it A levels
You are inAS LEVEL right bro?
Yeah
Cool
Done with AS mainly and going to start A2 after this summer
- take your time to decide your subjects. For this , research on net.
- Check the admission eligibilities of your desired universities.
- consult those people who are educated, know how this shit works.
- the most important thing is: Realise what you wanna become. Things will get clearer
Yeah I'll need to really consider my options here especially before doing a full A level in business caus once I go for it there is no turning back
Dude , tell me that you had English language in as level...?
Hi Sanko :o
Umm no
Oh oh
Do I really need it?
Umm đ¤
Thing is my school won't offer it unless there are like 10 people taking it
Oh shite!
I m sorry to know that
And I'm the only one who was planning on taking it in my class
No no it's okay it isn't your fault
You don't need English in AS Level
My school is absolutely shit
GCSE level is enough to apply for uni
Yeah GCSE is kinda cool..but not all universities accept I guess
In that case then taking IELTS/TOEFL might be useful bc some unis don't accept CAIE IGCSE EngLang
Noice
Yeah I'm taking those
Yeah
I'm not worried about IELTS caus I can probably manage it
Yup just score 6 or above
I'm worried I go into the wrong career for me and then I just regret it
True
IELTS is pretty straightforward to revise for
Tru
For your career bro, I have suggested few steps. I hope those help ya
If you want some more, I got it here. Just hit me up
Ye they do help thank you Broski
Oki will do thanks!
No problem! All the best man

sanko's here too ...
Haiii ripilicious!

hey. so i'm planning on applying for biomedical sciences or biological sciences for undergrad. i was stupid enough to not take A-level chem. however, i am taking AP chem and physics. i highly doubt that ill be able to actually sit the exam due to COVID. but, i am learning it.
would unis in the UK and US be able to understand if i mentioned that i learnt AP chem and physics somewhere on my application? and perhaps attach a few work samples/tests of these subjects too or something if that's possible idk.
most of the unis i want to apply to make chem compulsory for the courses i want to take :(
I think it would be best to talk to the uni directly
yeah, thanks
Did you have Bio in AS and A level both?
Get your resume ready first

Hey I don't know if this is the right channel but I got a year to do 3 A levels. Where I live I can do CIE only in MAY/JUNE and Edexcel in MAY/JUNE, OCT/NOV, JAN. Would it be better to study for the Edexcel AS level for OCT/NOV or JAN and do the A2 in MAY/JUN next year or do CIE A levels in full in MAY/JUN next year. I'm not in school and will be looking for resources online. I did IGCSE at CIE.
Also A levels are Phy, Che & Math
Would it be possible to apply to indian universities if Im doing my A level exams in the may june series?
Pretty sure with a little bit of extra money everything in india is possible
Kidding
experienced boy
like by when do universities require me to send my 12th marks?
Like for example if I want to do JEE can I still do my A level exams in may/june?
Not sure if things have changed but my sister did may June and she had a hard time with applications
All govt unis were out because of deadlines
Even the date when they take predicted was earlier than she could get predicted
oh the thing is my school is only offering may june so I cant do feb march
so do I have to take a gap year then?
Does doing IB make it easier to transition to University?
And do universities weigh it equally with A level?
Yes
I am totally undecided what I want to be... Those with strong ambitions are lucky
dw people think that you have to know what you want to do by the time highschool ends, but that's not true. many ppl in uni still don't know what they actually want to do after. it takes time. so take your own time to figure it out. and don't be pressured into doing anything you don't want too. goodluck!
Thanks!
Depends where you go, in the UK, the universities obviously like A levels more, however if you go to Spain, the IB is more popular, therefore more preferred.
IB is much much harder than A levels, you might want to keep that in mind
That might not be so bad I was told that the ib workload is similar to the university so it would help students accommodate much better to the university
The thing is, since itâs harder itâs also harder to get the grade you want
I still have some time to decide
3 A*s is just as hard as like 60 IB points or whatever
I know the subjects are way more in ib but what about content wise
And also, depends on the school, on the teacher
If the school is much better at teaching A level than IB, ofc youâre gonna wanna do A levels
Yeah
University isnât as hard as you think mate, my brother is getting incredibly good grades at his university and he says that the only time you get a load of work is during exam season
When he didnât have any exams, heâd hang out with his friends, go visit the UK, etc.
It also depends if you want to get a job while youâre at uni
I guess I am worrying about nothing then
A job would be nice keep myself preoccupied
I'll see how my grades turn out in August and see if I can handle Ibs workload
I'm Still leaning towards IB because of it offering 6 subjects which really favour s people like me who haven't got a clue on what career they want in life
Yeah true
It depends on every person, but in general thats how it goes
If you actually donât know then youâd probably know from your IGCSEs, but yeah IB offers a wider variety of subjects
Which also makes it harder
đ
Mfs in career advice asking for help like bro jus get a job????
But would unis give preference to an IB kid vs an A level kid?
American unis IB, UK unis A level
If we consider same GPA
I see
Do you think A level Decision Mathematics in A level edxcel Further maths teaches anything that'd be useful for uni?
yes
Ty
Should I choose business administration or business management?

Guys, I had one question regarding my exams in October/November: I am not going for the SAGs or internal assessed grades this time, so I will be giving my exams on Oct/Nov 21. I am anticipating that the results may be out between Jan 9-12. So, can we apply to US colleges or universities which have deadlines on Jan-15 or February? Because, the only thing left on my application process is the transcript, or Will I bear the loss of 1 year?
Yes. Results being released by jan 9 does not mean you start school then
yea maybe I will miss the deadlines for top IVY league colleges that mostly have deadlines on jan-1. I can apply to colleges that have deadlines on jan -15 and feb probably.
or I think I should request unis to wait for my real transcript than the predicted grades
Yes you won't miss anything
You apply in October with your AS levels and predicted grades and get a conditional offer
Then you give your final results when you get them in January
That's what ppl generaly do
Are these a level exams @olive sparrow ?
yep
these are a level exams
Unfortunately because of this pandemic I didn't gave any AS exams
Then you are in a very good position
People giving A levels in May june typically face the problem you are asking about
like?
You can apply normally when applications open in October/Nov
And then you can give your final grades to universities in Jan
You would likely get some conditional offers from some universities
Anyways Ivy schools don't tell you if you got in until March on ivy day
So you can give your updated final transcripts that you get
This deadline is to apply it's not to submit final exam results
Oh so that means I can apply to IVY colleges and submit my Grades later?
Yes
You apply with AS, IGCSE and predicted A levels
And then give your final A level when you get them
Well thank you so much for explaining it so well. So, I guess I need to apply with predicted grades and then submit all my grades later!!
Phew lol! I was panicking whether I would bear a loss of a year because of my grades. Anyways thank you for saving me and my friends. @slow widget
Oh ahaha np
What if I'm in AS
My AS exams are in Oct so I wont get my results till January
And the A2 ones are in May 2022
So I can't apply because I won't have anything except IGCSE grades
i think ull be able to apply with ur As and igcse result
u might get a condition offer or sum
hi y'all, has anyone here done an A-Level in history? i have a friend who's confused on the books needed to study the A-Level component (namely component 3 & 4), she says there aren't any books (?) for those 2 components
she says she understands the AS level but she doesn't understand how she's supposed to learn the A Level components, if anyone could explain it'd be a gr8 help tysm
No idts
found this very useful pdf for medical school applications in canada, for whoever is interested
Is accounting & finance a good choice?
That depends if you'd like to have a career in that or not tbh
it's a good choice if you're interested in it / passionate about it and think you'd want to spend time doing it
there are no good or bad careers, only ones you will thrive in and ones you won't
^^
True true
Should I choose A level route or go directly to course. I'm hesistating to pick A level because of covid situation and stuff
@crimson willow pin this pls. I feel it can be very helpful for medical aspirants maybe
Guys
Whatâs better?
5A at IGCSE and 3A/A* at A levels
Or
7A at IGCSE and 4A/A* at A levels
depends on the subjects and uni requirements but generally ig more subjects are better
idk where you wanna go, but i think most, if not all UK unis only require 3 a levels
For people who applied to US universities, what grades did you put in your transcript?
wdym what grades?
like what grades did you add like did you add internal grades or just the external results from cambridge?
you dont have to do that yourself
your given predicted grades from school
based on your AS result
ohh ok so like
so IGCSE certificate, AS certificate, and term + predicted for A2
Ah okay
I think UCs dont ask for 9th tho
what abt other universities?
like the ones on the commonapp
Oh okay
ye
so for UCLA you sent IG AS A level predicted and 12th midterm?
yeah
ye
you can always try emailing them tho
but idts 9th grade marks really matter
cause you have ig final marks right so
yea
With 5A IGCSE and 3A* at A level. What good Unis could I get in?
Almost all of them ig
Thanks
im 19 years old and im planning to take A level and As level in the same month cos i want to finish quickly however i feel A level is so hard and i feel unprepared that i want to take it next year so i will be 20 years old. do you think i should take it in the same month or separate (next year)
doing As and A2 can be a blessing or a curse. if ur a genius that puts studies over everything else then go for both. but if u wanna enjoy life and study aswell along side then dont do both. my friend had staright A* in olevels but he decided to do Alevels in 1year and ended up with E,E and D. so choose carefully becuz it will really be extremely difficult but not impossible
A Levels in 2 years (the standard) is already hard
AS and A Level exams were meant to be taken 12 months apart, not 12 days apart đ
Hi im thinking of doing a levels , and i was thinking how it would be like Im starting in July, and will be graduating later in 2022. Im from Malaysia, i dont know how the rest of the world does it but my issue is im not really good in maths, so i was thinking of taking maths for the first exam, and then dropping it afterwards. Is that possible?
how will it affect my grade? would it become irrelevant in my result slip?
Does anyone know where I can learn IELTS on webpage
if i did good at my AS only is there available fully funded scholarship for international students
i think some Uni's accept just the AS results on its own without A2 , but its generally recommended to do both i believe
but its possible , you should probably check out what field in what university you want though , bec this is a bit specific and its hard to tell you for sure
So its better to refer to the requirements of the universities you want to enter and whatever field you want to be in
But know that its possible and i have seen people do it đ
thankyou!! đ¤đ¤
Anytime
Applying to undergraduate medicine can be a long process. At face value, there seems to be a lot you need to consider and I remember when I was applying, I felt like I was learning as I went. The whole point of this video is to help people feel more prepared and, unlike me, not have to learn as you go but rather have a clear overview of what to ...
Hi just a general question, do we need chemistry for computer engineering in most of UK universities?
And also, is computer science required too?
I think chemistry is only a requirement for canadian universities in terms of engineering
I dont know if cs is required, but because UK universities focus on depth and dive in from the start of the degree, im sure cs would be useful, and so would math/further math
What will be the difficulties of not taking further maths in A levels for computer engineering?
Nope
You'll learn that bit of math in year 1/2
I took Math physics Chem Economics and IT for AS levels. Should I drop Economics and IT for A levels and take Further Math instead?
Im planning on doing electrical engineering in university
yus
Is it possible to do Further math in one year tho?
yus
@tight brook is it possible?
ig so yes tho
Well, thats actually what I was supposed to do
Normal math in 1 year and then f mech in another year
But then we did it parallel, but got different teachers, so all that happened was I became confused
Either you have the same teacher for further math and normal math, and you guys do it parallel
Or you do normal 1 year and further 1 year
You could also do further math parallel with normal, if you self study
LOL like i have a choice
ok im so frustrated rn
cant register in ielts
need help
the thing is
im underage so it required my parents mail to register
or create an account
i give them my parents mail and they sent my mom a link
i press the link and theres nothing special
i fill out everything and at the end it requires me to create an acc\
but im underage so i give them my mom's mail again
they send the same link again
i fill the same form again
and they require me to create an acc again
and require my parents' mail again
and send the same link again
its an endless cycle
and its driving me crazy\
pls send help
Call them m
This thing
I couldn't find any contact info
Try to find the contact number of the local British council office
They should just need a signed parental consent form if you're under 18 nothing else
That's all we had
guys i need some help, so basically i really want to cyber security in the future and i currently just finished my O-levels, so i was told my path is doing computer science in university and then i specialize. I have decided my country to be USA so now i need more intel on university, i did search online but its too confusing, mainly because i am looking for a uni that gives scholarships and also has a good ranking
getting scholarships, especially for international students in the usa is quite difficult
and ig if you are taking about good rankings, ig you mean the ivy's
yeah but ivy's is super hard to get in
so i am not sure if i should bother apply there, plus ill think about that
Do you know what can help with for USA scholarships
uhh steller grades and amazing EC's
hahah
well I can't really comment on cs
maybe someone else can help
but in general, even having great essay writing skills for like scholarship applications can go a long way
BTW i have taken 4/3 subjects for A levels,
Maths
Puremaths
Physics
Chemistry
do you think thats fine/enough if i get 4A* or 3A* and like a A
for scholarships you defo need 4A*'s ye
yeah
so 3A* and a A?
yeah for sure, that will be my aim right from the start, but honestly FPM is not easy at all so lets hope for the best
and any tips about essays or anything in those lines, basically anything you know with your experience that will help me?
haha thanks a lot this is needed xD
i would say just be yourself in your essays
don't write about what you think the admissions officer want to read
just express yourself through your writing, how you are irl
that helps
for sure, that was one thing i was gonna remember while writing but now since you said it, ill stick a note saying that in the room just so i dont drift away
yeah i was that on the news
like I took it, but didn't submit my scores
not sure about the 2022 admission cycle tho
ohh, and general how difficult is the real exam?
did you do the subject SAT or the normal maths and english one?
its not that hard, for sure, there's a specific pattern of questions
just the normal one
- essay
ohh okay, and do you know anything about the subject SAT
once you get a hang of the pattern you can crack it
coz khan academy has me sorted for the normal one
ah no idea sry
i thought the subjects tests were becoming obsolete no?
yeah i figured that, and fun fact you dont always have to solve the questions on maths, you can predict and then see the choices
Yeah they discontinued them
yeah i heard something like that
yeahh
ye
But the normal one is nice
yeah plus a lot of study material
maybe
nope
even if my field is something in relation with physics for example
Tbh I didnt use any books or resources for the SAT except the practice tests
wow thats quite intresting
ye you won't need it
i use khan Academy only
thats actually a relief to know about
thanks for the info guys
Ye np
Same here
it really is amazing
Where are you from btw?
i am from kenya
Ohh neat
i was told that can be a benefit
Ah yeah can be
ig
I saw a interesting reddit post on this the other day I'll see if I can find it
It was a good read
gl with that one
Haha
and where you from BTW?
India
Noice
Ahhaha nicee
i figured coz of the area
Ye
Yee :))
gl with your reddit post, and thanks a lot for helping me out man
means a lot đ
Yesss npp
nantar bhetuya, mala madad have asele tar DM karele
naa, the feel wasnt there anyways you got it
Damn đ
Hi
I am sorry but I actually need really quick advice
Basically I want to become a hardware developer(hardware designer)
but I am not sure
If i should choose Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science
yessssss, naki
heheeh
Engineering
Try looking at the curriculum of the courses, it'll help
Some schools also offer joint electrical and comp engineering that could also be a good choice if you like that
For example, if ur looking at canada, I know Queen's offers that
Anyone here opting for medicine?
yes
yup goin for dentistry
yup
I wanna opt for medicine, depends though
which universities are you guys going to?
and what a level subjects did you take?
im actually gonna start my a levels next year and im unsure on what subjects to take
but im opting for medicine too
if ur sure for medicine u have to take sciences which is bio chem and phy, thats whats the most unis require, also some unis require only 2 sciences which is chem and bio. now, if u arent sure if ur gonna do medicine, like I was, i took maths too
honestly depends on ur uni and ur capacity on how many subs u can do
I took PCMB in my AS rn
I see
As of now Iâm keeping my options open as well between medicine related and computer science related fields
So will you advise me to take bio chemistry physics and maths for AS level?
Yep
You could do comp sci as well if you want
dont take english in both AS and A tho
our school has English general paper
oh if you are staying in india general is fine
but abroad
general is not accepted in many places
Yeah only take AS English
but thats the only thing our school offers
yeah
I think
A English is if you wanna become an author or something
you can even take AS english with ur other A level subjects
just dont do both AS+A english
General English is accepted in Australia
yes
if i did good at my AS only is there available fully funded scholarship for international students
Does anyone know where they want to go? I mean im about to enter grade 12 and Im still unable to decide if I want to go to medical university in the UK or some other European country, Pakistan or Canada. My family has started to pressure me and Im still undecided. Any advice?
I'm not doing medical but you could consider Australia, New Zealand
Canada is decent too
In the end depends on the subs you take and the grades you get in them
Its usually which uni accepts you, where u meet the requirements, u should take ur living expenses, ur visa requirements, ur financial capacity all into consideration.
In Pak, there is high competition, as u might be aware of, to enter into med uni.
Yep true
Basically, write down all the places u wish to go/can go, then write all its details, make ur own research, think where ur suitable and then come to a decision, also keep some unis as a backup
ok thnx a lot
Is Physics, Chemistry and Math a good combination for A-levels?
Depends on what you wanna do for college
Is it possible if I can take environmental engineering with that combination???
Okay maybe not, I havent taken bio in my O-levels
Which universities have really good neuroscience programs?
Does anyone know of any jobs that use a lot of university level maths? I want to keep doing maths but don't want to stay in academia. Any ideas?
Quantitative finance, logistics and CS stuff like ML and cryptography esp
Thanks so much!
Quant finance is bae tbh. Friggin hell physics folk get recruited
Do you need to know much about finance when applying to quant jobs? I know obvs it'd be helpful but I have no experience or knowledge of it
I think you should know the math solidly
Stochastic PDEs that is and read up on some literature, that should help
Okay thanks so much
Would you happen to know any good literature (or any resources) around Quantitative finance?
Well... yes
Financial Management - Berk, DeMarzo
The Concepts and Practice of Mathematical Finance - Mark S Joshi
Basically any book on financial derivative
@slow widget thanks!
welcome
Hey guys I need some advice but itâs for when to give my exams, is this the right place to post it?
sure
I started my a levels and itâs been a month, didnât have good as levels so Iâm going to be retaking them. Anyways, I also switched to sciences and with no background in chem I struggled, barely understanding my a level classes, so what Iâm thinking is that either I drop A level chem and have an AS certificate and that would mean I have 2 AS 2 A levels. Or I give my AS retake in feb March and A level in May June. Iâm worried if I take this route I wonât be able to apply for fall 2022, since I will recieve my chem results in august
@sullen fractal maybe submit your predicted grades, and then wait to see if the uni will give you a conditional offer?
Whenâs the latest I can send my grades after receiving a conditional offer
I guess yea
but i think it depends where you want to apply too
then its usually august deadline
to send in final results after getting your conditional offer
mine's going out in august as well
When do the applicants start for these universities? Ik carleton is September but canât seem to find out about the others

i neeed help guys i wanna apply for international scholarship but i have a problem, i need a high school transcript ( like a report card ) proving i finish high school for the last 3 years. i have IGCSE but i dont have year 12 report card because i never took the class, i only took the exam (As level) so i have no transcript. do you know anyway so i can get certificate to finish High school for the last year (year 12) very quickly? like what exam i need to take? whats the system called? i live in indonesia btw
I don't understand your question
You want to get a certificate to finish your final year of high school/A levels quicker?
What do you mean?
yea, i need a certficate to finish high school year 12 by taking an exam of some sort, in indonesia we call it Ujian Paket C, its an exam where you will get certficate of finished high school. problem is i cant speak indonesia so i cant take the exam
but if you took AS already, then just take the A level exam, no?
and the statement of results for the AS exam is your transcript
the A level exam is the international certificate also the AS level exam
@trim forum ^
do you think if i tell the scholarship that im a private candidate they will accept my A level certfificate as a transcript
?
They might yeah
yeah they do
but you get two different certificates
right?
Yes hi
Twas a question about Indo so no I tagged you
oh yea plz read my question above if you have any opinion about it
Ohhhhh
Did you not go to an international school?
nah international school in indonesia is expensive so at year 12 i homeschooled
O shit that's hard bro
Ngl there's no way to get a certificate for that unless u do that Paket C yeah
Best shot is you explain to the scholarship maker whatever that you were homeschooled
yep thats why i came here for help hoping there was an international C paket system
or somethin like that
Is there anyone who is doing biomedical engineering?
can someone advice me about what are the stages which i should pass and courses i should follow to be a businessman.
if someone answers pin me
Take it with a pinch of salt but business is not the best major to take to actually become a businessman LOL
what should i do
This is coming from someone who's going into international business in the future
I didn't apply for business
to be a businessman
Everything u learn in uni will be theory
When you're gonna be doing it in practice
Hands on experience would be more useful
Anyone can become a business person w/ the right connections
ÂŻ_(ă)_/ÂŻ
so i should pursue uni before any stage
Idk bro it's up to you ngl
Business is risky
And you don't exactly need a degree to become a businessman
i know but without taking risks no one can succeed
Yeah but your degree gon be useless if your business fails
A degree completely based on theory
yeah thts true
but doing degrees will give us the knowledge of running a business and putting into practice wont be much hard if we get the idea
thn what happened
As I said, take it with a pinch of salt
At the end of the day you control your own future
đ¤
so you try to mean my future depends on decisions i make
wah its text
ohh
Yeah me but I'm too tired rn
whats ur business(ans only this ques)later we'll talk thn
Oh that part I can't answer lmao
huh but i didnt ask anything personal i just asked ur business
is it privacy
Ya
ok
some other time can you explain the obstacles you faced when you started up new
I didn't face any obstacles
wah
I am a product of nepotism đđť
So really you should be asking other people
Maybe @main imp would be good to talk to
He applied for economics & management
In the UK
oh good
your business is helping friends i see
omg of course no obstacles thn
Yeah it's much easier to get into the industry when you have family in it
Or friends
Friends work too
so is it hard to start alone
small scale to large scale
i think mistake
should be gaming channel
ic
I need to know the best job opportunities i'd get from taking the following subjects in my A levels :-
Physics and Chemistry or
Math and Chemistry
Oh and another thing.
If suppose i take two subjects (this October) which doesn't have math, I get into a uni around Jan or later, study something related to those subjects but i give my math exam next May. Would i be able to shift to another department or something? Like if i later want to study CS or something related to do that. Would that affect my credits? Would that be a loss?
Please don't suggest me to take Phy and Math this October. I'm not choosing this combination for a specific reason at the moment
Physics and maths.
She literally said don't suggest that
im a she
studying CS is beyond your A level subjects and transferring into CS is really difficult, generally [depending on the uni]
which is not the advice you asked for, but it's good to keep in mind
oh yeah i know about that so apart from CS, i wanna know what else is good to do
with those combinations of subjects
just 2 a levels?
also depends where ur applying. if you take math and chemistry you could look to go into engineering though i would think that required 3 a levels. similar thing with physics and chemistry; you could go into something like chemical engineering potentially. if you take maths then data science is also an option though it may be preferable to have CS as a subject if you apply to the UK
ooh thanks for the advice
is there anyone who can? i need to make a decision by today
Hi! Iâm planning to do biomedical engineering for my carrier. I donât know exactly which A level subjects do I have to take in A levels. Which subjects would you advice me to take?
bio math phy
chem
Definitely maths and physics
Probably also biology or chemistry too
But ofc it depends on the university's entry requirements
My sister did biotechnology as an engg degree and bio wasn't a requirement since it was an engineering college so just check
But they made them do a crash course sorta thing if they hadn't taken bio
What does she think about biotechnology?
I wanna explore that too
She likes it đ
Which university did your sister go into? Iâm also exploring universities which offer biomedical engineering.
VIT, in India
Just check with the uni to be on the safe side
As far as I have seen, most universities in UK require only maths and physics, and they can accept one other science subject, be it biology or chemistry
But National University of Singapore requires maths, physics and chemistry
Which course did she take in post graduate?
MSc - techniques in molecular life sciences, it's a joint degree between Stockholm university, Karolinska institute and KTH
So your sister is going for molecular sciences in biomedical engineering?
It's Biotechnology not biomed
The one who works in new medicines and vaccines right?
Oh
VIT has joint degrees with foreign universities?
Noooooo bachelors in VIT and masters was separate
Which subjects did she take for the UG program?
as in modules?
I'm honestly not sure what modules she took in uni
But in a levels she did bio, chem, math, Phys, IT
Did she take any additional examinations, like NEET or JEE?
Management quota oop since her grades came out way too late
What kind of surgeon is more wanted (except plastic surgery) ?
None is wanted -by med students
Which country
Oh, but then its still possible to apply for conditional application right?
The deadlines for that were still far too early, she didn't have her conditionals at that point
Was the application deadline on January, or much earlier? Because if its January then it can also be a problem for me applying to the universities, as the application deadline for most of the universities is also on January.
Uhh I dont think country matters, but if it does saudi arabia
what
ofc country matters, its not like the world collectively is facing the shortage of one specifc type of surgeon
unfortunately, idk about saudi arabia, sry
I think family physicians are pretty in demand in Canada
And pediatricians
Despite the huge demand of doctors in Canada, there are only a limited number of medical seats per year
I see, but what about in surgery, what is surgeon is more needed

VIT has management quota? Damn I didnt know
Hi
Hello. Is it possible to do masters in biomedical engineering with bachelors of biomaterials science
hey, anyone know of any sites where u can get a free career guidance evaluation-type thing? im not rlly sure what i wanna do and i cant afford to see a guidance counselor :/

Hi. When is it advisable to take A level statistics and when is it advisable to take A level mechanics?
Does biomedical engineering require more of statistics or mechanics?
i took a level mech in y12 and i'm gonna do a level stats in y13. though i'm doing accelerated maths. i know a lot of cie schools do it like that
Doesn't really make a difference
Since you're doing physics, it'll make mech a piece of cake in A2 since you'd have covered everything in AS physics
mechanics is like detailed version of the first few chps of physics in AS
they're not really related to each other so i don't know why it would matter
your school gave you a choice for choosing mech or statistics?
yes
we even have option if we want to take maths in the forst place or not
but thats only in A levels
same
yes
oh
makes sense
thanks guys
same
For me it was:
Statistics in AS
Statistics 2/Mechanics in A2
o
Bro my school were like â ye ye you can choose whatever you want whenever you want, but still mechanics is AS and statistics in A2â things do be like that đ˘
Plus nobody even teaches statistics 2 so teachers just tell students it doesnât matter the order youâll take mechanics or statistics anyways, Iâm like hmmmm N O
