apologies
sorry bestie
Who knows some good unis in France
Economy is super expensive but have a look
yes. yes we are
The south isn't that bad, it's the north that's kinda shit but you go up into Scotland and at least it's pretty
then again i live in manchester and ive survived fine ๐
and i moved from saudi where we have rain for 2 weeks a year
here we got 3 days of sunlight and the price to pay is the next two weeks of pure rain
ahaha omg that is incredibly funny
it's somewhat opposites
the UAE also never gets rain and it's always so incredibly hot outside
ahhh i used to live in the uae haha
Any one doing Chem Engineering at Uni here
From what Ive looked at ChemEng is nothing like Chem
Its all calculations and efficiencies and all that
Can anyone confirm?
Also what to do if I want to pursue Chem at uni level
That also has a decent job market, better than that of ChemE
From my research
Anything that has Science in its name without engineering is gonna be really hard to get into the job market
Doing a chem major by itself is suicide
Chem engineering is really good and even other practices like chemeng graduates cause they have high problem solving skills and are really hardworking because of the nature of their course one of the hardest
ChemEng is the pinacle of the job market for chem
But why in my country my lecturer advised not to do it
Also is Petroleum Engineering a good choice or is it too risky
Well yeah could be a bad choice if you arent studying abroad
That is also really good
A literal gold mine
But oil prices are fluctuating always so they said only the very experienced keep their jobs
Well the same goes for every practice, you could argue dont do medicine too many doctors and their jobs will get automated
True
Or software eng is bad too much conpetiton illl need atleast a master and such
Id suggeast create a linkeldn account you can network with alot of professionals there with hands on experience of how the job market is
I'll keep that in mind, thanks
Gave +1 rep to El Gato#0402
I am also torn between Electrical Eng
But from my friend doing EE rn he said theres 0 chem
true
chem eng is cool
I think it might be in high demand in the middle eastern countries
well yes but im not planning to move there
I think you should ask him why tbh, he might have reasons that we aren't aware of
Well yes chem eng doesn't care about the fundamentals much like any engineer

this is just me being biased as a natural sciences student
its not a bad thing, just a fact
yeah
Hi everyone, someone give me some carrer advice lol
I have no clue what carrer to choose
Hmmm letโs start by asking what do you like doing
Or what did you think you would do when you were young
Or what subjects do you enjoy studying
Hobbies?
Need some info to answer this question ๐
When I was young my mind changed so many times, its the same now. When I was young I wanted to be an artist, then fashion designer, then architect...I chose architect because I did nit know about anything else. My hobbies are reading, music, learning new things... My favorite subject now is physics, I study outside of my curriculum too and it gives me alot of joy, i also like biology and ICT is also cool, some parts of it
I see so basically you were thinking of being an architect
You good at drawing I assume
Ok ok
If you enjoy it that much
It is a possible career choice in the future
I hate math lol
But if you wanna divert away from it but still stay at the designing sector
You can try engineering
Oh ๐
whats the main difference between architecture and enginneering?
Is enginnerring more physics?
Yes and more maths ๐
Well engineering is really broad but some type of engineering are kinda like architecture
There can also be biology in engineerring
Like civil engineering
True
You are in igcse right
Yep my first yr
What subjects are you doing
Its quite hard
lol
Physics
Math, Bio, Chem, ICT and Business
my school doesnt have alot of options
Oh and English first lang.
Yea my school kind of forces you lol
So your options for the future a lot
Same as my school ๐
It is but if your school doesnโt allow itโs fine
But they dont provide them, they are quite limited to teachers too
U thought a levels?
I see
So itโs fine
Your subject choice is solid
@steep plaza
Nah don't question what I was thinking, in a math class at 10pm, I am hallucinating rn fr.๐
But yea i did take 6-8 lmao.
Lmaooo
I took 9
Your choice is fine
I think 8-9 common amt
I am talking about alevels.๐๐
Lmfao.
Wtf WHY

Jesus christ you a masochist fr
Also for ALevels is 4 a good amount of subjects?
Yep.
Yes lmao 3-4 is perfect
I'm struggling with 4
I hated bio and physics but one science was mandatory so had to take chem
Damn-
Bio is easy I just don't like it

Sorry I left for a bit ๐
Np
Basically you have time @noble apex since itโs your first year of igcse
Man you're still in igcse just chill and enjoy life. Don't even worry abt it
@steep plaza
Just do you subjects for now
When you get older and learn more
You might change your mind
But for now
Keep your likes in check
Basically architecture right?
So over time it might change
So good luck basically
Yep or engineering. I am also trying to build my skills, Im writing research, doing science fair other courses online. That helps with uni right?
I hope you a good future
Thankyou you too
Yessss do tons of ecas
A lot
A lot of stuff out of syllabus basically
Ok I will try
And you will be desirable in uni
I hope you do ๐ I will keep an eye on you ๐
Donโt mention it
Idk even know what I would do tomorrow in igcse.๐
lol
Lol same
There was this one subject where I literally only studied 2 days before the o level exam
Still got A
Stuff was so easy
Impressive, I could never
Bro I picked up business studies 4 months before exams like as a subject, and hardly focused and got s A.๐

I relied on the thresholds.๐๐
Yep.
Happening now for me in A2

Donโt think about them now
Basically
In your normal system
An A is 80 and above right
Just try getting 90% above and easy A* in actual exams.
But in igcse and a levels the limit is dependent of the performance of students around the world
So it might be lower
Maybe 70 for an A
But donโt think about it
Just study in your normal way
And aim for high grades
Oh ok. Also you have done your IGCSE's but do you think the syllabus and like different websites like save my exams and past papers are all I need? And some yt chanels like Cognito.
Ok I will
Ict use ict yahmad
He is really helpful
Oh never heard of him thanks
Yes save my exams is a good website to use
Physicsandmathstutor
Is also another site
Yes I love Physics and Maths tutor
Wooo
I see you already have resources
If you need more
Use this link
@steep plaza
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1t1WBQBWFOzE1Q3lXxmF_v-6M0-twN71D
Everything basically for sciences like textbooks and notes
Has all the textbooks and stuff
Igcse as well
And save my exam notes which are not free
Omg thank you
at the start of the year i made a whole playlist for igcse on yt with different youtubers and their advice, had like 50 videos, watched them all and took notes on how to study, helped alot
Man I joined like yesterday so glad I did
You are really studious
Keep it up
Im trying lol
Itโs fine also enjoy your time alright have fun
I had the most fun during my igcses

im stressed most the time, but I will try, everyone says that
Gotta go now and thanks for the advice, helped SOO much
๐
i had the most fun when i was a baby
Which is harder? Chemical Engineering or Pharmaceutical Chemistry
oh yeah do i need bio for pharmaceutical chemistry
if lets say i took bio at Igs but didnt take it at a level
I think it depends on the university, but either chemistry or biology works.(+Another science)
ooh
usually they dont care what you did at IGs
its not really enough for anything at uni if you do need it, and if you dont then they dont gaf
True lol.
I had the most fun when I didn't exist
lmao twinsies โจโจ
Thoughts on computer engineering
It is definitely a subject
Who would have thought.
Yw for my great insight
Okay but fr tho could anyone tell me the pros and cons of going for comp science degree vs comp engineering from a career perspective
Ig engineering means more hardware related right

Both are accepted if you are aiming for the USA, if local then you better check the university requirements tho still both should be accepted.
But if I were to compare the exams the ACT seems harder imo with 4 parts and a longer time duration compared to SAT with 2 parts and shorter.
It really depends on you now so any is fine.
(Btw that is one very weird pfp lmfao, unless it's ur actual face๐ .)
Thanks mate
Gave +1 rep to Sk#9005
And it's not my face๐

I just happen to find that on the internet
You were on some p*rn website??๐
Tf you find those type of images at lmfao.
It's a meme brother ๐ญ
Not saying I watch p*rn memes, but this pic could very well be one.๐ ๐
Are you assuming my pfp guy as some other guy who by any chance has a last name Sins?๐คฃ
Hi I wanna study mental health nursing however idk how hard the course is and do you need to be good at biology to understand the concepts ๐ญ
same, theres so much
Do you also want to study nursing?
Psychology
How do i know if i would like to go to the field of aircraft engineering or Medical?
You should also consider how long youโll have to study and how much money uโll be spending. Most of the time people who took other majors will have jobs and start their life sooner than medical students, while meds students have to keep studying under alot of pressure for alot longer.
if u have serious passion for medical
then go for it
otherwise dont
aircraft engineering is also a field which can change
any moment
like during covid lots of engineers were laid off
I'd love to go for medical but whats scaring me is my work ethic y'know, I have a sibling whos in a medical university and I would love to study with them but at the same time im having bad thoughts like what if i get 'lazy' and i dont do well
And i heard boys who go for engineering get to enjoy many parts of life even more
than medical students
so its like a choice between freedom or you know, respect or 'more satisfaction'
satisfaction doesnt mean happiness
and bbeing scared abt ur work ethic is normal, if u have the passion for medical then go for it bcuz nothing will stop u, not even ur 'laziness'
as for engineering its the same, dont do it bcuz of the freedom bcuz trust me engineering is damn hard and since its an overexhausted field like medicine it can take a while to have a job unless u go into like really good fields of engineering, where u would have to study more and acquire more skills too so it can take time
if u really want more freedom then i suggest u dont choose engineering or medical at all, go for something easy then but if ur not gonna struggle now, then success will be very very far away from u
doctors were also laid off during covid, recessions affect everyone
If you want to be successful make sure to choose business studies/accounting/economics and tell me ( how we change our name and profile pictures
nooo why didnโt career adviser give this information to me earlier
Will A level math be easier if I did O level add maths?
AS lvl math will be very easy
A level math will have some new topics
and then you have statistics and probability as well
mechanics is similar to o level physics right?
I dont think so, It involves a lot of calculas and trig
it is not mandatory to have physics in A level for computer science right?
a combination of math and computer science in a level will be enough for computer science in university?
Bro talk about a level business studies/ accounting/economics that will be appreciated
*easiest in As level
A2 is a different ball game
econ a lvl is pretty similar to ig
lots of repeated content easy to score
Why does mechanical engineering/civil engineering need entrance tests in the uk but except for biomedical engineering?
@dire acorn if u do a bachelors of science in computer science u will need physics, if u r gonna do a bachelors of computer science then u just need math at least in the Universities I've seen
๐๏ธ
Alr thanks @robust sapphire
Gave +1 rep to tea#2649
do yall know where to find ap notes
all notes online are kinda mid
they dont cover some stuff
guys what r come good careers to consider if u all all sciences
medicine
Really depends on ur interest and passion.
housewife
Drop sciences and join strip clubs frr.
no no
i think housewife is better than being a stripper
i have some thing yk.
some
shame
I meant for experience to please husband ykyk.
oh no donโt worry who said iโm gonna be a house wife with a significant other
but good idea

why donโt my husband go to the strip club yo get experience
good idea
but still
itโs. backup plan for my friends
He always has(me ykyk).
Lmfao.
Ah yes premium career advice being given here
alrigjt will sign u up in 10 years
but like r u talking from experience
Fr man.
Yeye ofc.
Yep ofc.
okay thansk for the advice
No worries!
is it a good idea to go for cookin school ( im not even sure what they are called โฆ bachelor ? managment ? ) after ur CIE as idw to further study like physics subjects ?
or btr to just for uni
go*
should i go for boxing and become the lightweight champ for big money big risk, or study and blah blah blah foundation
You only live once so do what you love ๐ค๐ป
u wanna become a chef?
itโs a good job it ur well known and trained yk
they get paid well
but donโt drop A level do tjem and tjenc decide
i feel like it can be taken as a aside job and not a main job cus my friends mom was a chef and all she does now is cook at her house ๐ฅฐ
wat bout after Alevel ?
sure
but honestly u can become one easily by just taking courses yk
i feel like taking a side job just in case is better but ofcourse
itโs you decision in the end and youโll be the one responsible for ur future not others
all of u forget ur careers
whatever degree u gonna do
u will either end uo being a coder
or unemployed
Truck Driver....?
its similar to unemployed
cool
do yall know where to find ap notes
all notes online are kinda mid
they dont cover some stuff
Motivational
hey guys i need advice on whether i should go for an economics degree or a business degree.
im into similar thing so i could help
what's ur future career aspiration
like what u wanna be/do
or lets ask this do u like startups more or politics
hi all, anyone studying to be a pilot?
not necessarily career advice but how hard would fm be realistically? iโm not the best at maths, but i am quite decent. my avg in maths is about a 90% and in addmaths its probably 88%. i am taking alevel maths after my oโs are over but would it be stupid to take fm as well? iโm willing to put in every little bit of work needed
my other alevel subjects will be econ & physics
No that ainโt stupid, ur already good with getting 90% and 88%
But I suggest to start learning fm after ur o levels are over, maybe like after ur done resting
90% tbh is the bare minimum before stepping into fm
yeah thats the scary part, iโm probably barely eligible
should i start fm after my oโs or do u think i shoukd go with finishing p1 and mechanics since u need prior knowledge of p1p3 and mechanics for further pure and further mech?
Paper 1 is like repetition of all of everything u learned in additional maths so ur lucky u took additional maths
what is FM?
Except for like circle graphs and volume of a graph
Further maths
Maybe learn mechanics and stats first
Cus anyways further pure 1 is a totally different thing than normal pure 1
Just warning u in advance ur gonna overheat ur brain a lot but probably get used to it
I technically dropped further maths already
is maths it and eco a good combination
so basically i have maths and eco and idk if i should take comp sci or it
it isnt an extremely useful subject imho, if you can do decently in cs then i'd recommend that, although if youre going to do econ at uni, neither would matter but comp sci might help once youre in
with research projects mostly
pilot school, good or bad idea
As long as you go into a good school and good airline, you would get really high salary
but there is a high risk as airplanes may crash sometimes
you studying to be a pilot too?
You're tons more likely to die in a car accident than that.
If i have a offer from a uni for ABB and i get AAC or A*AC will the offer stand i tried my best but chemistry is a bitch??
I think it will be fine because it does kinda equalise
But idk to be sure
Some universities have B as a minimum threshold so mail the admissions office for confirmation and make sure to follow up to their email
anyone here wanna be an architect???
my uncle
he is a great pilot well known in the middle east
my hero
omg really? i need some guidance because i want to purse aviation
me ๐
is anyone here studying environmental science or want to study environmental science?
ouuuuuu
do u think itll be worth it
the sleepless nights nd toothpicks???
Iโm still In Highschool and doing my IGCSE, I have few close cousins who are in Harvard and Cambridge so I was thinking of working under apprenticeship or shadowing them for credit score and seeing if itโs possible to receive a recommendation letter from them (Iโm planning on working hard for it of course ) But i dont want to come off as a Nepo person at the same time i feel like If i have the available resources i used make the best use of it? Of course im planning on working hard and not js simplying asking for the letter for no reason
did u even take bio for o levels?
anyways you need to study the following subjects for A levels: two of Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics (the Core Sciences )
and if u want to do anything related to bio, i suggest u to go for biotechnology, there are lots of generous scholarships for it
OK
Gave +1 rep to ๐๐ฐ๐๐๐ฐ๐๐พ#7548
Hey, I'm in highschool giving my igcse finals.
I'm not sure what subjects to pick for college/a levels.
I took chem, phy, computer science and maths as my majors in o levels along with languages and history of course.
I want 4-5 subjects in a levels which should include math, further math and business studies , not sure about others at the moment.
I want to go for either Bio or Computer Science as my forth subject along with something to go along with it as my fifth.
people already struggle with 4 subjects in a levels
5 is a deathwish
your subject choice depends on where you wanna go in the future
dont do it unless you got an iq of over 200
igsce content doesnt compare to a levels at all
firstly damn your school has problems
what do you wanna do in the future
oh wow
what are your grades like for the other 8
with this youre leaning more towards a humanities based group
yea sure
yeah i accept it
lol in my school we do IB and we have to do 6 subjects + other work ( EE / IA / CAS )
yesss
I'm soo nervous for next year bc of IB, what subjects did you take for IB? was it hard?
oh nono im doing my ig finals rn ๐ญ
but i picked my IB subjects already
Noo your fine lol
But i am PLANNING to move onto ib this year hopefully
I heard its not about it being harder than a levels for example its just more work
But its enjoyable
Most my friends doing it recommend it
I hope I'll do well in IB, I realllly need to get good grades in it for university
Its not ๐
Business eco and accounts
Honestly nope not really
Its like the most easiest of all
Nope
Its just a levels man
econ is not the easiest wat lol
I personally had an easier time w math than econ, ig it depends per person
is economics IB HL hard?
dont forget tok
take it if ur career needs it
if ur interested then its not hard otherwise it is
If you like econ you might not find it hard if you dont you might find it hard
Our year nobody took econ so they removed the subject for us ๐ญ
Since ig alot of people found econ hard in IG
maga just repeated my sentenc
damnn usually a lot of ppl take
Lmao I didnt realise sorry
Yep
hmm does anyone know if i can switch to IB rn as an a lvl student
which subjects should we chose in a levels
for astrophysict
if we want to be a astrophysictv
astrophysicist*
Maths, physics are must
Rest you can take chem or c.s but most require you to take chem
This varies with different unis but mostly this is the case
Also further maths is appreciated not compulsory but can sorta help
Hahahahah same dream ๐ฅ
I have 0 interests and 0 passions. Idk what to do- Iโm good at everything Iโm doing.
Maybe try some remote internships that you can get into and you'll find what works for you even if it's sth little but you'll get the idea what you wanna be
Maybe but my school actually forces us to choose
And we have to do internships based on the companies they choose
That
Would recommend doing physics and choosing your optional modules later instead of committing to a specialisation now if you really wanna do that
you don't get scholarships for BBB in A levels do you? :((
What subs to choose in A lvls if u want to be in ai field or a graphic designer
ai and graphic designing are very different.. also it depends what a levels your school offers
I tried with better grades and yes none ๐
Its luck and extra curriculars
A lot of luck
lmao i gotta get ready for the typical brown job life then
Missclicked sorry
depends on uni and country
Hi lol, what should i do in uni?
Im doing IT, math and physics in A level
I want to do law, accounting or IT
+1
as long as u get placed at a good company tho
the interview process is very competitive
you've people from 3 months bootcamps competing for the same roles ๐ญ
how to speedrun college in america
Guys any idea what major should I do
If I like English and Math
Also if I do English is it beneficial? Or should I do like journalism or another major that involves English
And are there scholarships for a major like English or Journalism
maybe credits
but if you convert a levels to the american system
its your last 2 years of highschool
junior and senior year
wdym?
AS usually doesn't but A2 does
same system
Depends on the subjects tho you'll have to ask your particular uni
But for the main popular subjects credits are given
My science and math ones will probably count
a2 level eng students, what are the career prospects?
is anyone doing degree apprenticehips after sixth form
mood
aint AI taking over rn tho? making software developers lose their job cuz chatgpt can write better code
Someone needs to work on the AI though. Iโd be more concerned about AI taking over jobs such as accounting, journalism, business management.
Plus if you do computer science Iโve heard there are many jobs that math majors usually get that you can also get with comp sci
atp ai will take over everything except business and doctors i feel
Trade jobs
whats A2
i dotn understand it
wdym
after giving igs, there is something called a levels. There are 2 part of a levels, AS and A2
U give AS first then u give A2 the following year
Allah hu akbar, Fear Allah
jeff
can you study Psychology in Universities without sciences? my combination is geography, literature and biblical studies, but i'm worried that this isn't enough or i picked the wrong subjects
p sure most unis would require at least 1-2 sci subs minimum
yeah
but not under bachelor of science
it would be under bachelor of arts
ohh
in our school we just call it AS and A level lol
A level is basically also called A2 levels or A2
I had a question: what type of ECAs should I do in order to present a sexy application to the uni so that they provide me with scholarships? I would love to study either maths, cs, mechanical or electrical and electronics engineering. So, pls suggest keeping these in mind.
also what type of clubs should I join?
and also is it possible to do research interships as an AS level student?
Joining clubs isn't a "sexy" way to showcase an application. Trust me it's coming from someone with very much regret
Actually yes!!
Considering your subjects I'd suggest you to take more unique initiatives and be inclined on doing sth different, maybe also apply to some top summer schools like smith for research but yeah do sth creative and unique
but its actually really tough
I totally agree some are too expensive and we just wanna do sth for free
I'll DM you some Instagram accounts and websites where you can start
For free
damm
Some will have a bit of a fee but yeah
Is English major worth it?
nah\
๐๐any others that are worth it but connect with English
like journalism or if yk others
You are in ig or alevels now?
igscse
how hard is it to get CS major in foreign uni on scholarship
especially germany english taught
hi
does anybody know anyone in bioinformatics
ohh okay, thank you so much!
Gave +1 rep to thatgirlduh#7243
yupp
Depends on the uni but it is not generally that hard
Then why are you worrying now before even starting dude
Trust me it will be fine
If I am applying for foundation for Monash University in Australia. What should my scores be for igcse. I fell like I did really bad on maths.
i forgot to mention scholarship ;p
what's an underrated engineering major that's often overlooked/underlooked?
You can bro. At least take 2 as and a levels to not kill off your future careers entirely. I found Global Perspectives and Information Technology to be quite an โeasy passโ, at least when you compare it to stuff like Maths and other sciences
Are you an EU citizen? If so, a scholarship is achievable with tons of hard work and if you are or become a national champion at some sport. If you are not a citizen of the EUโฆ wellโฆ ๐ซก
non EU ๐ฅถ
Does GPR even have any benefit ? I have gpr but everyone says its useless
Anyone know anything specific about majoring in journalism like what you do and normally what subjects it requires
give up
live ur life
become a girlboss
donโt listen to no one just get a high school diploma and all!!!
source: trsut me bro
igcse is so concerning for ur mental health so itโs ok
its so hard if im dying like this in igcse i wont even have a soul in alevels
mw 2
my mom says not to d A '
is so tiring
fr
girl
yk
for the first time
in 2 years
i forgot to brush my hair because of igcse
go shower.
cuz i didnt hv time
my entire closet is in the laundry
me 2
and if alevles is like bio math chem on same day then just shoot me instead
like dying is btter than this life
does ur school
have a
high school diploma option
like not giving igvse
damn
ok lemme suggest u smthing
become famous
js do that
or
just kys
or move schools
or give sats
they r easier
fr
Bro thats how everyone feels at first ๐ but you never know if you might become more serious during a levels
Bro somethings wrong with you
it is
im reading my physics book from right to left n i just realized
BUT SATS R EASIER!!!
HEAR ME OUT
arent we
the same "kids"
omg
ur that dude
omg
Nah
A2 been going fine ๐why
thats so cool
cus like after seeing sm i know
im considering of being hsd
number 1 in activity on the server fr
yea I used to get 1300 on the old practice tests now I'm getting 1400s
I gave sat without prep ๐ญ
what was ur score
1350 i think
if u did better in maths that time if u focus on English in the retake
u can combine good maths score and good English score
as a 'superscore'
yea I'm gonna do August as well
have you gave sat before?
no but I've started studying for it
good
I started a long time ago but I haven't been consistent
its not that hard if you prep for it
yea
3 of my friends just studied for a month and got 1530+
do they take both English and math or what lol
I'm gonna do once in August and I'll try again after a while just to see if I can get better
like maybe oct
yeah you have plenty of time
just get a good score before A2 starts
august will be my last attempt
you'll do well
I also gave SAT without prep back in 9th/early 10th grade
I think that SAT is pretty easy as a test
Even if you prepare for about a week or so, and you have a strong grasp of eighth grade maths and just english in general, 1500+ is ez
dude it's not that hard - with like the most minimal effort ever, no serious studying, I got a 1530 in grade nine
a friend of mine studied for just a month and got a 1540
you can't get better at the SAT (english) by studying - you just have to have a grasp of english
and maths is, as I said, eighth grade level maths
Bro as long as u have self discipline then no questions asked
Doesnt it depend on your strength in math though
People who struggle with math and or dislike it have a really hard time even with what might be eighth grade level math
So people like that might need alot more time and might need to put alot more effort in
idk what to do with my life after graduating
yea true - itโs just that SAT maths is just easy in terms of like the pure concepts itself
generally just basic algebra
Yeah but some people struggle with basic algebra alone too ๐ญ
Its really dependent on each person
Some people can get through the SATs and just the math they may learn in IG and further really easily but others struggle on it alot
What subjects interest you
Is there a subject youre really good at then
Like you get high grades in it
arabic ๐
Maybe other than languages ๐ญ
i think thats the only A* ive got since grade 9 ๐ญ
What about As
im still in ig
I mean A's ๐ญ
Subjects you get A's in without TOO much effort
Like youre not pushing yourself over the limit desperately grasping for an A
You can just get it through somewhat studying ykwim
Do you take fl arabic or sl
fl
You can do teaching or something ๐ญ
A course in arabic in uni
But also you have time still
ig my cie results are gonna determine that
Like try your best doing the most you can in the subjects you currently take and towards the end of HS see what you've done your best at and consider finding a career relating to it
And alsoo if you're undecisive then too just apply for random courses in different unis and whichever one you get into and are like damn
Go for it lmao
lmao
You're doing them this year?
the exams already started man
im like 5 papers in
Ngl
Me toooo
i have bio ATP on tuesday
chemistry was gonna f me up
if i did not study for those 6 hours straight
i would have failed
Its fine hopefully the boundaries are low andd p6 and p2 are easy
went from an A* student to as long as i pass student
I slept the whole day and forgot to study chem and studied last minute ๐
๐ญ ๐ญ
i slept at 3 am that day
It couldve been soo much better if I actually studied but it was livable like it was easy but Im still expecting p2 and p6 to get me an A* ๐ญ
But it internally kills me that we need to wait till August and we can never see our papers again
The sleep schedules are dead ๐
๐ญ Wallah
SAMEE
me too istg
I swearrrr
What subjects do you take
Lets talk in ig-general maybe ๐ญ
sure
Any idea what igcses and APs I should do to study architecture
Math physics english ofc maybe like DT and art
For igcse
guys if i kinda alr know what i wanna do is ib worth it? like my current schl only does ib but there r other schls in my city that does a level as well. my dad is considering me going to a level but my mom wants me to do ib cuz she views a level as a easy route and for ppl who r scared of ib
im not scared j wondering if its worth doing all the effort and sl's as well where ik my hl's are going to be what i wanna do. so in a levels i can do my hl subjects plus 1
A levels are not an easy route at all
there is no easy route
alright it's not THAT easy
I gave it ๐
ik but like damn
it's defo not eighth grade level math
the math is eighth grade
English is hard
they ask u about equation of a circle and all
maybe ninth grade
for me English is easy
thereโs at MAXIMUM five new topics
but yea
itโs harder than maths
imo
but everyone has diff strengths
yea
ofc there are the hard bits in eng
like the stuff like punctuation
and where things go in like subject verb object things like that
But for things like vocabulary and all for me it's just common sense
true
oh that section is easy
I mean reading
like the old paper sat
not this new online shit
(which I find much easier)
I meant section 1
also found it
yea
It really depends on you and where you want to study what you want to do honestly
A levels is more of study study study then give exams and have your grades based off that andd it consists of like 3-5 subjects I guess
Ib is more of study but study at 2 different levels youve got your high levels and your standard levels and youve got 6 subjects in total 3 of them being a foreign language, english and math andd you get to do CAS which kinds brings you away from the stressfulness of studying the exams at the end dont weigh as your whole grade as you do alot of essays etc that count too
Alsoo compared to a levels IB is more internationally accepted and its heavily liked by unis you just kinda need to learn to be a bit more independent though since you do alot of things on your own in IB with not many resources available
None of them are easier than the other because in the end the courses before uni will always be difficult because they want to PREPARE you but in my opinion you should do IB especially if youve grow up on an IB school tooo
And and it depends on the reputation and the teaching of teachers in the school if you go to an ib school with horrible teachers you might not be amazing at it compared to an a levels school where the teachers are amazing compared but at the end your always kinda stuck with studying on your own ofc and you can get tutors whenever you want
If he found it so easy he def didnt take retakes Im pretty sure ๐ญ
Ahh I cant spell Im tired
It is but if you want an add on to your application when applying to like north america its a good way to do so
thanks for lmk

any advice to a person who wants to do PPE? (Philosophy, Politics and Economics)
hi i am in igcse (currently giving my finals) and will do ib for the next 2 years... what steps should i take to get into a uni in us/uk/australia?
Find relevant work experience
Maybe in something similar or relevant
Do internships
is double major good
even though itll kill me mentally
India and bba is a good combo?
wdym by that ๐ญ
collegeboard
ty
doing bba in indis is a good career option?
no
depends on what you're choosing and if you've the skills associated with the job you'll take
but mostly not a great idea considering its competitive and hella overcrowded
what do you wanna double major in
comp science and business( cant decide between marketing or finance)
Should I decline my current uni offer and accept an offer from another uni where I need only B
Think of all the jobs you can get with this
Whatโs the reputation of both the universities
Do you like one more than another
Is the grade difference the only reason you are considering switching to the 2nd uni
Yes
Itโs between McMaster and Windsor
guys should i do M1 or S2 in A2 level for maths
m1 for sure
s2 is hard asf
It depends on your future interests
Like usually business students take s2
Idk really m1 is very very easy
True
what do i take in a levels when im not interested in medical engineering or business?
what are you interested in then
im actually clueless
like i just wanna get into a good university and earn
and have a stable life
i was considering law for a while
but i need a combo which doesnt send me down the law tunnel
incase i change my mind in the future
it's not as if there are any specific subjects for law anyway
cos ik people who've got into law with like math phy and accounting, and someone who got into law with literally three sciences
bro these subjects basically mean engineering
Take business or accounts
Or CS๐
Kidding dnt take ca
Cs
take cs if you're interested in that field. it'll prove to be very beneficial later on
cs is a good option
i dont want to do that ๐
physics aint takin you nowhere other than engineering
plus honestly the subjet is way too hard in A2
hmm my teacher doesnt think i should take it anyway
so math and cs
i need a think subject
third*
roles/
what type of career do you want to do?
the most popular option with math and cs is physics
law is hard asf dont take it
its not worth it if ur not gonna pursue it
too much memorising and time is needed to practice, u will barely get time to do other subs if u focus on this sub
- if u take maths, ur uni options will not shorten. cuz a lot A LOT of the unis require maths for whatever major u wanna pursue
- physics and math wont mean u have to go down the engineer line. i have friends who had chem, phy, math. and he is going to bachelor of commerce in uni
- math doesnt matter if u take m1 or s1, so choose whichever is easy for u. unis just need you to have math in grade 12.
also ur uni requirements vary by country.
like in my country it a requirement for medical students to have bio chem phy math english in their grade 12. its not the same in case of med schools in other unis. some countries are okay with bio chem math only.
perhaps talk to ur school counsellor first about ur conflicts. no subject is easy in A2.
ok this was VERY helpful
i was asking for AS so its pretty confusing rn
but i should consult my school counsellor for this
thanku sm <33
no problem. AS and A2 subs are same ofc. its just that the sub u might even relatively find easy on AS is very hard in A2. when ur taking a subject, ur committing to it for until completion of A2, so choose wisely. ur IG subs will immensely help if u take the same/similar subs in A levels as a lot of IG topics are taught in A levels, just more in-depth knowledge, stricter marking, different question pattern
u can dm if u got any confusion
lord thanku sm ur a life saver literally
It depends if you're into science and stuff
Alot of people find bio either really easy or really hard in o levels alone
If you cant cope in o levels then its a big no in a levels
What do you wanna do in the future though
I have a question. I'm currently doing IGCSE and want to go a university or career college but will those schools accept IGCSE or I need to do A levels to expand my choice and get a better chance at getting accepted?
ofc you've gotta do a levels lol
Dang
Where I used to live offered career high schools and it was very professional but now that I've moved from that country, I guess I have no hope, huh
Thanks for confirming

if you live in a place where vocational qualifications are recognised post 16 then yes, like in the UK, apprenticeships are an alternative to uni
I see. Thank you!

either a psychologist or psychatrist but again being a psychatrists kinda depends on taking bio
You should take bio thennn
I feel like its a really useful choice
exactly but again ill hv to cover the entire syllabus of o levels and AS and i hvent studied bio after 8th
kms now
Why dont you go over everything during the summer break?? And if you need help you can ask me
I have a video recommendation which will help alot I guess
theres alternatives to a levels. but will limit ur uni list
okayy perfect ill go through the syllabus and try to figure it out thankyouu and ill deiffo ask u if i nee dhelp
not rlly. i chose psych in uni. and i dont have bio in a levels
same but if i wanna b a psychatrist that does mean i need bio
to b a pschologist u only need psychology
Okkayyyy I'll send you the vid in dm's and if you need more resources you can always ask also the ig-biology channel has alot of useful pinged messages
I think during the summer maybe in the span of 2 weeks if youre dedicated enough you can really learn everything cause I kinda did that and it wasnt that bad ๐ญ
aight perfect literally thankyou so much ur a life saver
And things just make sense bc its about plants and the body ykwim
Awww anytimeeee
yoo ur a smartass fr
ehhh ig but there r so many complexx names and all
Yeahh it takes a while to memorise but you start to get it trust me
actually, if you want to study in bachelor of science, then you should keep bio and math. math is very necessary even if u choose bachelor of arts.
and either BA or BSc, u can major in psych (at least in canada and uk), and then do a masters in science based on ur speciality. for psychiatrist u would need a phd. for psychologist u wont.
And honestly once you learn that I feel like A level bio is gonna be new for all of us in general so you wont feel like youre alone
perfect ill go over that and lyk
thts actually kinda helpful i took math so i think im good to go?
i chose BA of psych. and we are asked to select 2 bio courses in our 4 year program. doesnt matter if i had bio in a levels or not, cuz they gonna go over it for everyone
and after completing my ba, i will be choosing speciality. and then do a masters on that sub
for psychiatrist, u would need to, on masters of science
and then take a license exam to practice
gonna ss this to rem this but this is genuinely rlly helpful
i didnt have math, so i am limited to choosing BA only. and even then, theres a lot of unis who require math even if its BA. so my uni choices were limited
its important to see which country u want to study in at first
so yea
ohh but hey ur seem kinda smart and i hope it goes over smoothly for u
๐คก im actually a certified clown. but thank you. i hope it goes smooth for u too <3

i feel u
take easier subs
I wanna be a nurse and there is no way I can drop bio or chem and probably math
oh
rip
yeah u would need those
maybe also english. ik that studying medical requires so
but nurse is different occupation, still medical related
I seriously don't want to regret it after making this decision that will affect my golden years.๐ฅฒ But I'll also consult my aunt who used to be a nurse. I don't want to pick more than 3 subjects in A levels
mhm do so
Yeah. Thanks for the advice though!
Imma bury myself in chem now. Byeee

can i go into drug discovery with a biochemistry degree?
I think so but Im not so sure
alright, thanks
Sorry that was such a bland response ๐ญ
๐ญ I think you probably can but honestly thats an interesting degree
Hopefully someone else who sees this will better guide
inshallah
i wanna do anything biochem related
i was thinking of one degree but the salary made my mouth dry
so i saw drug discovery was somewhat well paid, also aligns well with my interests
Inshallahhhh
