bro is a generic word
I referred to you as they
in my later sentences
💀 this is so cringe im sorry
💀
I had 2 dreams in life
either to become garbage man or doctor
unfortuantely u dont get paid well as a garbage man so i went with doctor
that makes sense logically
are you a doctor?
yes
I graduated from the university of tiktok
just had to watch 32934792 videos from people unqualified to give medical dvice
the doctor who has been treating osmane dembele 😭😭😭
💀 bro got a master's degree from mcdonald's university
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Try to treat your brother putin
He needs heavy treatmemt
is this a good subject selection: IT, CS, math(Pure math and statistics) and English?
IT isn't gonna do much for you no?
Unless you're taking it purely for it being a 4th subject
im taking it as a pure 4th subject so yeah
but i havent studied ict anytime in igcse
i studied cs however
as long as you can excel and stuff, you dont need to take ict in igcse
i havent done AL IT myself but igcse ict is really just mail merge and a bunch of office stuff which you can pick up very easily
do the places you apply to need a 4th sub?
could anyone give their opinions about this subject section: Math(pure and statistics), physics, computer science and english
for alvls, should i take 4 or 5 subjects, I'm not good at studying (i studied for my igcses the morning before the exam so... and barely before then) but i guess i got some typa luck since i got 7A* and 1A (sry for the 'brag'), i plan to take phys maths and it (edexcel if its of any matter) and i want to take eco as a social sci sub for ive read that some unis like that and chemistry cos the teacher's good at teaching it
You might wanna take 4 is you're not that good at studying, since you need to study alot in a levels from what Ive heard and your A*s in IGCSE turn into C's in A levels so alot of effort is needed even in 3 subjects alone but I know you an do it! If you feel the need of taking 5 though you could it would benefit you taking more subjects but I'd personally do 4 it depends on you
What your thinking to do and stuff
Congrats btwww 😭
thankss
Gave +1 rep to Angell#2019
if i were to take 4, should i take eco or chem
It depends what you wanna do in the future, career wise?
Whatever seems more suitable for your career
what do u plan on pursuing
Or whatever may be a req
also i would personally so dont go with 5 subs
im doing 4 in A2 currently and its hard to manage 4 so idk how ur gonna manage 5
3-4 is the sweet spot
most ppl go with 3 but if u think u can handle the extra pressure AND are unsure about what u wanna pursue and want to leave doors to multiple paths open then go for 4 subs
cs ig
something along that major
oh cool
Phy , math , CS is what almost everyone chooses if they wanna pursue computer major
okay
i had two friends who had chem with it aswell but dropped it before AS exams
yeah and for the 4th sub what would you suggest?
oh i see
ur choosing from eco and chem?
its what i had in mind but im open to any other as well
well in MY country (pakistan) the universities and the entry tests have a small portion for chemistry so thats why if u dont study chemistry u will have to get an over view of it again before ur entry test
so if thats the case for u i would suggest go for chem
@neon grove if ur unsure about 3 subs or 4 subs
i advise choose 4 subs rn and u can drop the 1 extra sub any time during ur AS level whenever u feel pressure burden or u feel that this extra sub is hindering ur other 3 major subs
Oooh alrighttt
I think this person knows better than me I guess lol
Ohmm
Ah for me, its for the us
Idk much about the US but i dont think u rlly need 4 subs inorder to get into a uni there
Even top unis?
Yeah i dont think 3 or 4 subs makes a diff in ur application to a top uni in US that much tho u should confirm from someone who knows about applying to USA
they focus alot on ur extra curriculars and stuff..
Mhmm mhmm
if u dont rlly need chem in ur uni related tests or something
I would say go for eco since its more practical and might actually help u irl unlike chemistry
Eco is better BUT if ur test is gonna have a portion of chem
its better to have a base of chem in Alvls
u get my point

Np goodluck
Thanks

For americans unis: math for sure and physics, chem would be ideal and a language is usually ideal thats all Ive found out
😭
i second that based on my hundreds of hours on uni websites 😭
😭 perks of being half raised in the US aswell lmao
lol
Also comp science if its an option of a subject obv
Maybe something analytical/programming based too
But yeah
comp sci is always great
because it shows your ability to be analytical as angel said
also it is fun
Yessir
is biotechnology a good option as a career choice
it is an emerging field, and yes it is
there is a lot of scope
with genetically engineered crops, seeds,, etc taking over the market
pharmaceuticals, such as fizer
Yes but it depends how much interest you have to see if its suitable for you specifically also
Hari is very much right
Um I mean you do need math in CS even in college so 😭
math bad :( thanks tho
Gave +1 rep to Angell#2019
How bad is it
i mean its fine but sometimes its very confusing
Whats your grade
How was it
it was okay
If your at a high B or A, A*
I think you're good
But you do need math and you need to be good at it
You can improve though
dang
😭
Everything needs math
Even medicine
😭
😭 fr
no
depends on the place tbh , i dont need math for medicine but the only reason im still doing A2 math is so that i can go for engineering aswell
the math in o levels and a levels isn’t bad
💀
No
Go on internet
Quora
Eg
Or
Other sites like google
Moore reliable
I’m pretty sure you do need calculus
thats what i thought too
math is necessary
based on all of my research for cs and engineering
it is quite definitely necessary
what specifically in math they're wondering though
Calculus
statistics, calculus, etc
calculus is always required for engineering
because of how much engineering depends on calculus
I was right then
yep
Ty
for cs, linear algebra and lots of it
and a little bit of pure maths
@little garnet here
ty
ooh thanku
for engineering defo calculus
zis dude is lying, mathz a torture
its just that once youve done harder stuff you forget
wallahi i swear AS ppl failed maths "consecutively"
im not saying they havent, im saying where ramen is coming from
ive failed a subject which i can totally do and people find really easy
no i mean it's my experience, that is why I just called it a pure torture
it happens
thats fair
but ive done 2 and a half years of maths at uni and ramen's doing 1 so for us comparatively its not that bad
besides personal strengths
explains well
that's definitely true
but i also didn't say it's easy
i will say that it's not as hard as people make it seem tho
all it takes is practice
hearing stuff like this destroys people's confidence before they even start a levels and that doesn't help
Thanks
Gave +1 rep to Angell#2019
Doesnt it all depend on a person's abilities?
If you practice math which is a subject that requires heavy continuos practice
Anyone ca be decent at it
But if we dont include that
People who just have no interest in math or just hate math and arent bothered to put effort into math or its just not suitable for them etc etc
They struggle with math and find it hard as hell
People on the opposite end of the spectrum obviously dont maybe here and there yeah but they'd disagree that math comes from hell
😭
🤍
Can I know which 😭
At uni
Yes

Hello there! I needed advice for choosing a masters program!
Currently I'm doing Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering (MEng in EEE) but I want to do Masters in Canada with a degree aligning to my hobbies of Particle Physics and Quantum Mechanics.
Any degrees or programs yall recommend? Will these align with my Bachelor's?
Would recommend looking into particle detector work!
Alright will do! But any degrees I could look at?
I mean depends on how much job prospects you wanna have tbvh
As a physics major I'd say just do elective courses on particle / quantum, don't spend your degree on it if it's just an interest
The only corporate industry particle lends itself to directly is data science bec experimental particle physics is just glorified data science
And quantum well I suppose if you wanted you could go into semiconductor tech?
Particle physics as a hobby and particle physics at grad level aren't the same 😂 as I've come to find out
Ahhh alright tysm
I needed exactly this perspective
How do u recommend I go about choosing a masters program then?
Could u also pls just explain the "job prospects" part here ?
Sadly idh any electives on those 😦
Look at the modules and see if they have any industry links, if they do they'll mention it on the course page
And see what kind of research projects are open
I mean like classic industry jobs like electrical engineer
Physics tends to lead into not very mainstream jobs
Hmmm makes sense
Hopefully I find something that aligns perfectly
Thank you @shadow tree

Is international business a good degree ?
I've given the fm 2023 exam and now my 10th is over. Now, the only thing I'm sure about is that I don't want to do a levels and I'm not interested in anything related to chem and phy. I'm confused over which college I should apply for and what degrees I should pursue or which exam to give. I'm not well acquainted with these matters so can someone explain to me what all I'm supposed to be searching for?
College in India or us
Yea, as Army said, it’s important to consider where you want to study
Why dont you keep IB as an option if its available to you? And maybe steer away from engineering and stuff, are you interested in business etc?
What subjects did you take for 10th
Is there one you enjoy and see yourself doing
I'm interested in business. What's IB? We had bio, chem, phy, math, eng, hindi
I'm also interested in literature but I don't see much scope in the future
Its an international program that you can take instead of A levels, and if you dont want to do that you could go into the american system and so AP and stuff
Would you be interesting in a field like teaching
Why dont you go for business then?
Its also in high demand nowadays
Can you tell me more about this please?
Its a rising field that alot of people are doing and its not too difficult either
I'll send you something in which you can read about it and if you have questions let me know
But in IB
You need to take 6 subjects
2 languages so - english and a second language which is offered by your school or whatever
Math - high level or standard we call it (AA and AI)
A humanity
And 2 other subjects
Yep was thinking the same but I have no idea about this field so no clue which colleges or programs would be the best for this. Can you give some more information about this?
Where are you wanting to study exactly?
English speaking countries or otherwise?
IB is recognised worldwide though and its a program that gains alot of attention by universities
In India only. More specifically in Maharashtra
Hmm sadly I dont know much about indian universities so Geagle, Lord, Gojo all those might be able to help as they're from there
If your planning to stay in India, I wonder if India has their own course that they offer? Like GED
Thats also probably good if you plan to stay in the country you live
Alright thanks for helping!!
Gave +1 rep to Angell#2019
Alright, so based on my knowledge of Indian universities (as your local neighbourhood gujju) is very limited, due to most of my research being centres around American universities
However, most people here that want to study business in India either do BCom and the MCom, or do BBA and MBA
A lot of people also do CA (chartered accountant) because that is usually a high-paying job
Personally I suggest that if you want to go into a commerce-related stream, you look into doing a BBA and an MBA, because that will give you the opportunity to learn the ever-important skill of business administration and management
which will allow you to be more successful as an entrepreneur someday
however, if you want to go into a position where you can work a stable job, go for studying either CS (company secretary, very high-paying and respected career here) or CA (chartered accountant)
Anytime!! have a look through the IB program you can just google it or check out the link above if your interested
But I may not recommend it iff you plan to stay in India as there probably is an easier and more worth it system like GED offered there
Tysm this was really helpful!!

Yep I did thanks for sending it:)
Gave +1 rep to Angell#2019
no problem :D
also @cedar night if you intend to study in India itself, i recommend not continuing with an international board such as CAIE or IB
going with CBSE, ICSE, or your local state board might be easier
Can you also explain the importance of exams like NEET?
yea sure
Yepp got it
so basically, there are two major entrance exams for science students in India
JEE and NEET
these scores are what colleges use to decide whether you get admission
JEE being for engineering and NEET for medical
@cedar night if you're not into the sciences then NEET and JEE may not be relevant to you, but they are extremely important to anyone trying to do engineering as medical as they are what matter the most
colleges in India don't care, for the most part, about your school grades and stuff
Aww no problem you can ask me anytime
your score on that one exam determines EVERYTHING
your life DEPENDS on that exam
you don't score well? you either go study somewhere bad or waste a year preparing again
wanna go to IIT? score well in JEE-Advanced
nothing else matters
Understood. Thanks again!
Gave +1 rep to Geagle#4558
no problem :D here to help if you need anything
If you have any more questions IB related or applying internationally let me know as I may be more useful in that lmao
Lmao intense
yep ikr
Suree
🤍
haha ye I feel like both me and you have looked more at international stuff
i just know a lot about the local indian system becoz friends
who wanna study here
Yes lmao
Ive grown up internationally so my future plans are along those lines aswell
Thats why i research alot yk
yea for me it has been a lot of back and forth between India and the USA, but I’ve been living in India for a decade now (still go usa like once a year or so)
I am laughing my pants as Indian colleges see only Entrace exam score and nothing else like extracurricilular Or social services 😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣
ikr so sad
do not laugh your pants
lmfao I just noticed that's what he wrote
According to Constitution of India I have right to freedom which means that I have right to choose what is best for me
ur grammar took eons for my 3080 graphics card to process and it exploded
how does one specimen laugh their pants
I study Physics, Chemistry, Maths and Computer Science, and I aim to study Physics related or computer science related subjects in uni.
I am very VERY bad at chemistry, so I recently handed in my subject drop request.
But I don't have further maths. How will that affect my uni choices? Does that mean I can say goodbye to all good unis?
in life always fix one but always have a backup plan
did u have chemistry in ur class 10 or o levels ?
dropping chemistry might not affect a lot if u join lets say engineering for example mechanical or aeronautical or civil or computer related
I advised you to not to by your graphics card from Chor Bazzar.....
lol
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

true bro

wait are u laughing at ur own joke
No
lets help @finite axle
Ok
I mainly consider computer science
maths itself is a common qualification for engineering if u really want to show that ur unique and stuff and u are smart then further maths is advisable
ur gonna study in unis eitherways
But my friend faced the same fate of rejection from imperial and Cambridge as he doesn't have further maths despite having top grades in all others. He has same combination as me.
He didn't even get interview chance
Which is weird
He is top in class.
He is Y13 btw
oh is he applying like in england
makes sense
sry bro i dont know much about Uk a lot
but further maths is really difficult
Ik
in india ppl get in universities around 17 or 16 including entrance exam they get the preparation for class 11 and 12
because its the same syllabus
but its not the same case for international students
applying for their home country which supports the country's syllabus
Thanks
np
Not having further maths will not affect your chances for physics or CS because you're taught those things instead
Now obviously Oxbridge and London are extremely competitive but remember that you can be rejected for a lot of reasons that are just not in your control at all
Also that's why you strategise your 5 unis to have reach and safe options
Almost any uni is gonna make you wanna lose your shit two years in
is doing ACCA WORTH IT AFTER O LEVELS OR A LEVELS NEED PROPER ADVICE
GUYS I THINK HE NEEDS PROPER ADVICE
Is this a concerning situation 💀
OMG HOW COULD YOU TELL
molecular biology or biomedical science?
Hey, I'm giving my A-levels right now, and considering an undergraduate in something chemistry or biochemistry related (maybe biotech?). Anyway I'm going to apply for unis eventually and have a pretty good shot at getting into unis in my country. But I was wondering if its worth to try to apply to foreign ones? I'm pretty down to go to any English speaking country but would need full or near full financial aid.
Would need to give some english tests/application fees so was wondering if this is realistic or should I just try for graduate studies later?
if you're in a position where you can actually get financial aid, then it's worth applying. i want to apply for financial aid because my parents both have to work to support me and my twin brother (who will be leaving for uni at the same time, ofc) and their savings probably won't be enough so we'll both have to take out student loans, but my parents also own a lot of houses/land in turkey/uae/usa so we don't even qualify for fafsa. so yeah sorry didn't mean to make this about me but i just wanted to give an example
@frigid slate
also, keep in mind that even if you don't study for uni in an english-speaking country, you can maybe do a master's there?
I see, thank you for sharing your experience. I'm not really sure how good I have to be to be considered for merit scholarships, like my grades aren't bad at all but I'm not really confident in myself enough to compete with world class people I guess. I'll have to look up on the requirements for needs scholarships though, anywhere I can start looking?
And yeah if I do end up not going abroad for my bachelors I'll probably go for master's/
ah, no idea, sorry
not really that familiar with apps because i'm applying two years from now
though it'd probably be useful if i were familiar with the procedure
my apologies
that's alright, thank you for responding!
of course! if there's anything else, lmk
Hmmm it depends on what you like because no one can choose for you but if you want an opinion I would say biomedical seems cool since you study stuff about the cells in the body and how they work and I love those kinda stuff
yea that my main topic i love, thx
Gave +1 rep to greenfalcon#1104
Oh nice 😂
Hey guys! Can anyone look at my profile and see what should I focus on more till the end of the year to make my profile good enough for international scholarships?
Hey, I'm planning on joining an american university and their requirements are confusing me. What do they mean by these requirements and How would I acheive them through IGCSE's and A-Levels??
There must be a section for requirements for Cambridge students possibly
Or like whatever syllabus you did
There isn't for some reason. But I've sent an e-mail to their admissions office and currently waiting for a reply..
Alright good luck
thankss
Is there no section for international students and equivalents?
usually no
idt US universities have any formal requirements
the same way
UK ones do
apart from one for english language proficiency
you just try your best and see what happens lmao
when i was applying i couldnt find one that does
which has specific grades and stuff
most i ever saw was that it required 3 alevels at least
or smthn like that
this more aimed towards US students
or ones doing US patterned education
or anything similar
I dont know what to do with my life
I want to find a job that pays high and has flexible work life balance
Fr 💀
Dah
I rlly want to start a business instead of a job, just the other day my dad told me to have a business when i grow up or else i will be stuck in a job like him.
im thinking of dropping school, earn some money, start a small business and work my way up
but im rlly not finding the rhythm so i need help in decisions
dropping out of school right now you're basically dropping out for nothing lol
i doubt you have a clear and concise plan at the moment
dropping out only makes sense when your other thing is working
is there any other thing? let alone is it working?
you can start earning some money now and do it alongside school
and see where it takes
you
but dropping out right now is too risky in my opinion
you should only drop out when you know your side hustle will set you for life , otherwise its a shit decison , just saying that yuo can start a business and work your up is not easy, the world doesnt work like that , otherwise you would see everyone drop out and start a business . Cuz nobody actually likes to work a 9-5
you could, but not instantaneously its not something you can just go ahead and master
learn about it read books,
and do it on the side
I wouldnt consider dropping out of school and I know most people who've done that and had businesses although they might've been successful they do regret the whole decision of starting a business
This is because honestly and I know some people might disagree but you need education if you want to do something properly and have higher levels of success and low levels of failure
You can study business and get a degree in it and then start one and what if you lose interest or your business doesnt go so well? You'll be left with nothing and you'd have to work in some store or something so getting an education opens up more career options for you and guides you more towards what you might wanna do
You could earn some money whilst balancing it out with your education and eventually start a small business all while getting some sortof degree and see how everythings going but dont drop out on your education if you have it available to you then use it, its really valuable
So basically stay in school work hard try to get a potential degree in business in the upcoming future, start earning a bit of money now and if you're really convinced you could try starting a small business do not quit your studies though take a gap year if you struggle but see how it goes and then you'll decide expansion and closure in the future I guess
It'll be difficult but doable
Or you can do one thing save the other for later
Can I take business management course in university if I don't take business in grade 11 but I take other commerce subjects like acc and eco I also take IT.
YES
unless your uni has a prerequisite
which is unlikey
Ok thank you

no they are not APs
extracurriculars are non study things you do
like debate or sports
or programming
or anything else

lmfao
you do all kinds of ECs
Not just ones related to ur major
alr
It's good then m.....
Hi,
What are some good career prospects that would be in demand for somebody who took just Accounts, B.S and Econ for ALs ?
opens a lot of seekable paths. what are you interested in most among them?
I don't see much opportunities for Uni without maths, so I was worried about that, I like Econ most out of the 3 mentioned 🙂
economist is really cool. have a few econ friends and can confirm they're living it
maths would certainly be important tho
Thanks, if you or anyone else could share a link or so if available, into many of the paths there is, it would be great.

cs isnt what i expected it to be
from it's the best option to the market is so shit and people barely get paid
alot of maths according to my brother
yeah
depends on the field
hardware shit gets paid wayyyyyyyyyy less
that's more of computer engineering tho right?
yh but still needs cs as the foundation
bet
well idk from who you heard that
but majority cs grads in us are earning 6 figures with dozens of benefits offered
and work from home half days in a week for the most part
ofc since cs is a engineering course it covers all parts of physics/chem/maths and freshman cs classes would most prob be tough for newcomers
but once you practice and get used to the syntax and fundamentals it works out just fine. trust
tonne of earning opportunities here w freelancing, paid internship, contracts, consultation, you name it ✨
could clear some doubts in dms if you need to. overall its a great course with high ROI. def my best life decision 💻
sounds great, thanks
Oh r u in uni?
gonna be a freshman at a ug college this year
just graduated hs
well technically diploma but not sure if yk about it
I keep thinking like should I major in CS , so I’m like trying to rlly see the options nd all , My only fear is it being boring or sum, I don’t wanna be bored
Ohh
nah its never boring
like fr as long as you like what you're doing its really cool
imagine creating apps that provides value to million users. the amount of relief if brings to me
Yhh tru, r u doing CS for a specific career? Or like ur still deciding?
i've been invested into cs since 8th grade
Nice
got my first job in 10th and have been switching positions to other firms lately
Ohh waw
and i can tell by working for 3 years, it is fun
Ok CBSE?
state 💀
Nice, maybe I should try or sum , how do ik if it’s fun for me, is there some app I can try nd see
I was like confused if I should do sciences/med or CS lolz
would really suggest watching some tuts for an easy language like python to understand how it works
just a disclaimer. it isn't all fun. sometimes i've to work for 13-15 hours a day while some days i don't work at all
Yhh I see
its a lot of responsibility but with high returns as well
the salary is good if you're in US and the amount of jobs out there for SWE's are insane
med is rigged bro
Med
It’s only 4y of uni yh, but I’m not in the us, will be in Europe ig
its such a pain to be a doctor in this generation
Is not worth it except india
Iv heard so many crazy stories
I was like zamn
Idk anymore bahah so now I’m looking into CS
fair. do you plan on pursuing masters in us maybe?
well idk about the software engineers condition in other countries but us for sure is a sure shot to make it
lmfao fair
Iv never considered the states before, Idk I think the uk or in French speaking countries ig not sure, is Europe bad with CS or sum
funnily i was interested in being a neurologist until i saw what's the condition with doctors
What is it
those are good places too
Yh bro they go through so much nd all, many years of schooling
Also they gotta deal with many people
fr tho
Maybe rude people
Yh so many stuff with medicine but it’s lowkey cool to use tools and repair people’s bodies ngl
💀
💀
besides that med students are depressed bro
and they most prob will be the rest of their lives
But it seems tiring idk , yh lots of them r like just putting up with it
Tbh I want money nd good work life balance so I don’t think I should get into Medicine for tht reason…
Lollll
true
cs is the best for me
hardly any works apart from the few tasks i work on sometimes
that too from the comfort from my home
Tbh I always liked computers younger, But it was more about repairing them and lik openin them nd like going through settings , like now I just knw it well Loll
But like I never rlly went into coding so idk
Janitor position is mine then.
💯
Nicee
but well, people have their own opinions. before choosing cs i tinkered with raspberry pi's and arudinos, loved how it worked and went with c/c++ before choosing cs lastly
Lolll
NOOO
shoo
YESSS.
You already got a job, gimme something.
Oh I seee
i be cleaning them until they shine and make people blind
fair, we can work together
woah. that's a good sign
Fair fair.🤝
could dm you a few good coding vids, watch and lmk if they interest you
Me tooo plspls.
Okk thx
Gave +1 rep to blaze#4135
you sure will
the thing is cs in a degree's perspective is shit
with maths, stem courses, hardware and low level stuff
but in terms of career its where the money is
and work-life balance too lol
Yhhh I seee
are u in hs tho?
Grade 11 atm, will be done in June
Yh 🥲 but time flies fr so
Pls dm me too
Bro code
Best coding dude out there
Rn I'm doing python but I heard it isn't super efficient so I wanna learn C/C#
no
don't do c/c# 😭
its hardly used and apart from cs degree itself it won't be beneficial in anything
Ah rlly? Pls gimme advice then lmao
choose either web dev/app dev first
what u wanna try building first. ofc you can do both tho. for now choose 1 to start with
would you like me to suggest one for you?
fr tho
Yes pls
would def suggesting going for web development
its much easier and more in demand
Ahh alright I see
What would you suggest I do if I wanna do a game? Not as a job prospect but as a hobby
I'm not sure where to start
well first
you'll need to do these
html
css
js
these are the fundamentals of web development so don't rush it and get this engraved in your soul
would suggest taking a month to learn this. depends on your capability ofc. learn at your own speed, rush/slow it down as u wish to
afterwards do
express
react
nodejs
mongodb
learn them one by one
Thank you so much!
Gave +1 rep to blaze#4135
ofc ofc
lmk if you have any questions later on
Imo as a hobby python or JavaScript would be the best option and python is really easy to learn so it’s kinda fun as well
Why who said So
Python is the most used language
man
python isn't used in terms of industry level
do you've any idea how slow it is
He asked as a hobby
if he doesn't like it he won't continue
learning python won't benefit you in any way in terms of job or career perspectives
but yea learning it as a hobby is awesome. it was my first language after all
Yeah that's what I meant
Oh I wanna make games as a hobby but cs is future my career path
python won't benefit you much in terms of getting a job/contract, freelancing, or making money in general
Hmmm then I would recommend learning c++
Or JavaScript
where as with web dev the opportunities are double
no
c++ isn't used in any fucking companies tf u on bro 😭
Uhhhh you can use frameworks and make websites using python dude
broooooo c
learn c
forget c++
learn c
c is the littest of all lits
uhhh no one uses it cuz its slow and shit af for complex websites?
we've assemly bro
But they do 🤷♂️
yep - even when you really optimise Django or Flask you can't reach the level of speed Php will give you
we've to make programs to store data in memory, load to a register and other low level shit
EXACTLY MY POINT
Lmao everyone got diff opinions this is funny
bro is living under a rock to make such a bold statement
The thing that’s dying
PHP IS INSANELY W
yeeee it's very subjective
yea true
php is quite definitely dying
grab some popcorn
but ig it's what I grew up doing so I'm attached
Replaced by JavaScript
where does c come in then
like I pretty much started my programming journey with php and khanacademy javascript
WWW
true yea JS is taking over
My friend most components in computers use C
Alr so what I'm hearing is everyone recs js
php took the whole web development market into massive new heights
tf u on
are u actually that dumb
he doesn't wanna build os
Lmao.
c isn't useful in any terms
coming from someone who has learnt it for the past 3 years
yea true you do need C for drivers, OS, etc
its only useful for games, os and low level stuff
other than that no
even with games you need to learn opengl + shit amount of maths and opengl
java fun
i do java for AP Computer Science A
too much theory
too much theoryyyyyyy
Most easiest language is python for complete complete begineers ? Right????
Ngl yeah.
no scratch
since it's technically a language ig?
but in terms of conventional languages
probably python
Okay thanks
Gave +1 rep to Sk#9005
Man fuck that lmao.
nah man, scratch was my childhood
like I mean grade 1 and 2 man
That true lol.
we used to sit in the computer lab and make those shitty animations
Yesss ikrrr.
AND I WAS PROUD OF EM
IKRRR.
funtimesfuntimes
you think my chances of getting into medical school will be like at an all time low if i get a c for maths BUT i get like all A*s for the three sciences and a bunch of As for the rest in my igcses? like its only maths im struggling in. everyones telling me to give up on med school bro
i think it should be fine, especially if you make it up in further AS and A levels
i don't think schools consider IGCSE grades for much, it's more of how consistent you've been, and i don't think one bad grade would affect things much, especially if everything else is A*s
plus you'll be fine for A levels i believe in you 💪💪
if you really wish to pursue medicine i don't think you should give up either! it's just a small obstacle.. besides, you have some time to work on your math too! i'm sure people here can help out as well
@dawn garnet consider setting one? 👀
really? you think i could possibly try for a more prestigious school? maybe imperial or smt 👀
that makes me feel so much better uve no idea
thank you so much @ebon furnace
Gave +1 rep to Garv#6021
Yeah
i think you should try anyway because you can make it up in AL but also something ive found out in the uk is that med school here is kinda fucked because they have a cap on the number of students and its a bit less than how many doctors they actually need so if you get rejected at any point then its just the system that wants to underpay and overwork, its not you
yeah ik uk unis are fucked. i just dont wanna go to the usa cuz uh- 💥 yeah and also the fact that i have to study for like 9+ years
😂 😂 😂 understandable
im a brown asian kid living in a country thats bankrupt really puts my odds out there
://
😶🌫️🏴☠️
you think theres any work experience thatll put me at an advantage?
tbf i dont know many medics because they never have time but it should be okay
any hospital-y things i assume?
or even microbio
theres a ton of labs
ik my BROWN parents tried to talk me out of it man its insane
but i genuinely love the subject i can see my self in the future yk?
LMAOOO
good for you man i;d never be able to
yeah i gotta find some research thing to volunteer at, heck ill clean the poop off the walls
try doctor shadowing
its just a gut feeling man
lmaoo if you end up in nursing then thatll be your life
believing in it is very important
genuinely glad you have it
apperently it doesnt do any good? they want you to be like an active participant, thats what the people at uni of Buckingham told me
bro knock on wooodd
hopefully they have 2 braincells to realise that opps in the UK are not the same everywhere
but the other unis say doctor shadowing is a solid ecs bcuz u gain more info and stuff
omg i remember at a uni expo once there was a guy from durham i think?
plus its actually kinda cool
who told me that i should do some national level sports or somethin to boost my application
bruh what
lmaoooooooooooooooo
bro atp ill just start an underground practice wo going to uni be a lil baddy wanted by the police
little did he notice that.. i was a woman. who was not saudi. not arab. in saudi arabia
NATIONAL SPORTS MY FUCKING ASS
and i told him and he was like oh really
really? okay then fuck Buckingham ill do it
get a fucking braincell my guy
lololol
national ? jesus christ. and im not even christian
literally
and it had just been made legal for women to drive that year i think
or it hadnt even
NAHH MANS WAS HIGH IM TELLING U
Idk how to
i did not in fact do any such national sport
this is giving me flashbacks for when i wanted to apply to singapore
they wanted some gold medalists or smth-
and i applied to durham
I dont get paid enough to know
and i did get accepted
yayyyy
pop off gurl show the men they wrong
also too many posh white people i cant
yeah no
fair
they will try to put theirsaviour complex on to u
durham is literally just oxbridge rejects who think theyre better than the sun
💀
cant deal w that
u dont get paid period

also i need actual food and not mashed 'taters
I shouldn't have skipped the bot tutorial that Parth offered me
its a big fat ick im telling u
its like harward having a hogwarts dining hall but garbage for food
yale food > harward anything im telling u first hand
but none of them have halal options so im out of luck
actually? ouch
yk ivies are overrated
community college is where all the baddies are at
that's where stanford comes in
similar perks to an ivy but not an ivy
and the absolute best ever
Yessirrr.
slay queen
stanford> everything
stanford> life
Frrr.
for sure! make sure your stats are on point through this time and spend some extra time on your essay for uni! i'm sure you can get in
i'm so glad to hear that <3 glad i could help
omg i'm brown too
living in the cheaper end of dubai
lessgooo
sri lankan, i think ur cheaper side of dubai is like an expensive version of sri lanka
what you wanna do after school @ebon furnace ?
things are tough without many opportunities but they show up if you ask people.. i got to volunteer somewhere because my friends told me about some place you could apply to
ooh i've got friends in sri lanka! but haha dubai isn't all fancy and luxurious when you're in the middle class xd
applying for CS! but i can't afford most places so i was looking for scholarships and aid
i mean ig that applies to whatever country u live in
truee true
dangggg you can be the next brown mark zuckerburggg
ahahah please 😭
dw ik youll get into a great schol
IK SO BELIEVEEEE
i'm in year 13 giving my finals in may/june
ooop im doing my igcses in may/june too
i applied to the US but unfortunately didn't get aid offers so now i'm looking into canada because it's a cheaper option haha
that is so fun you've got this 💪💪
yk if i dont get into med school i was planning on going to dubai and find a nice arab to marry so he can bribe the school and get me in
canada is good my best friends doing psyc in canada
my mothers so proud of me
hoping i get into some of the nice ones! they're expensive but i think i can manage with a job or something on the side
same thats what i wanna do too
i would definitely believe that 🙄 /gen
we've got this in the bag it's going to be alright
be a 🔥 dancer 🔥 and pay my tuition off
hehehehe
oh no
just know some stranger on the internets rooting for you
who knows i might knock into u while looking for a rich arab man to marry
mhm it's quite unfortunate but thankfully i'm not being TOO harsh on myself
i was thining ballet what u thinking?
aww haha thank you so much that is incredibly sweet of you to say
Gave +1 rep to girls#1912
thank you to you too you saved me from having a mental breakdown a second ago
Gave +1 rep to Garv#6021
ahah who can ever tell xd
ehehehe
i'm so glad
idk bout canada but ik uk is cheaper than aussie but aussie gives scholarships
unless you’re a citizen
yo wb Scandinavian countries?
then Canada is a much better option
arent they like fishing for smart coloured people to go and live there?
yeahh i know that, especially as an international student, but there are some colleges on the lower end with like 30k cad in tuition, that's what i'm hoping i get into, and possibly get a job on the side to help my dad pay
the UK is so expensive i cannot 😭
imperial i've heard is crazy too
look into netherlands and ireland, ik they give schols really easily to international kids
theyll pay an allowance for u to study there
i think they're good options but again it probably depends on what course you wanna do and what their policies on residency and healthcare are
i just knw its good for medical school but look into cs there
they are cheaper in general too
nah i just wanna get in idw actually go
not enough sunlight in the uk
mhm true, they're cheaper as well but if i'm going it's probably going to be canada because i have this uncle who was really insistent on me going there because it's a good option and i'll have him there if anything happens.. it's a whole thing haha
😭😭 choose your other 4 unis wisely then haha
oh i thought you were looking into going there
yeah yeah ik what u mean thats my parents with the uk
i know the weather is questionable too though haha
i mean personally i prefer aussie but idm going there
oh yeah i forgot about that
ok then imperials off the list
ahh i see
womp womp
no doubt you'd get in though 😎
tbh my anxiety levels so high ill go anywhere that wants me
pop off brown mark zukerburg
it's impressive you're thinking this far ahead when you're doing your IGs
i didn't start thinking about uni until year 12 got over
oh nah nah im just an insane overthinker
this is what i do instead of actually studying
just know that things have a way of working themselves out, as long as you're putting in the effort to do things you like/are working toward
LITERALYL ME RN
i should be studying psychology rn
BRO I HAVE A MATHS PAPER OPEN I WROTE MY NAME ON IT
THAT COUNTS AS EFFORT RIGHT?
😭😭
definitely..
well if you ever need help with that math i could try
thanks brown zukerburg that rlly validates my feelings
Gave +1 rep to Garv#6021
