Our grades will become percentages

For us who don’t use 9-1 grading system

Somewhat; grades are the only thing that will appear on the certificate.

However, on the SoR you'll get something called Percentage Uniform Mark. PUM is essentially just a rating of how you did on a scale of 1-100 with a slight twist. They are not your percentages.

There are ranges, so like for A* it's 90-100, so if you get a borderline A* (like say threshold for A* is 126 and you get exactly that, your PUM will be 90, if it's halfway between 126 and the total marks it'll be 95 etc). So your grade isn't determined by your PUM, but your PUM is determined by your grade

TL:DR it tells you by how much you passed the threshold (unless that is what you meant)

I believe in the UK they are also issued with PUMs for 9-1 systems
