the letter of recommendation is written up by leads, and i guess how early it is depends on how long it takes YOU to get used to the role and get to know the lead, for them to write up a recommendation letter. Because i personally woudlnt know what to write if i knew my intern in a week, you know?

since recommendation letters consist of me or the lead vouching for you, and i cant vouch if i didnt know you and the way you worked

The certificate for the internship is after 6 months, as for getting early, it honestly depends, we have given contributors their contribution certificate before they were done before, don't know about interns....but the letter of recommendation should be enough if you want it an offical thing, or uou could talk to the team regarding an early cert, but usually only after you are done do you get a cert
