Idk what happens in your country but in mine it is really discouraged because 1 it is more expensive than a retake 2 it's a high risk situation one should only do that if he/she is absolutely 100% confident that they did CAIE made a mistake. (Remember there are no mistakes..)

Furthermore if you do apply for a recheck and it turns out that they actually missed a mistake you did then they'll cut ur marks and give you the updated marks which would be lower ofcourse and can effect your grade..

It's just a big scam, the monopolistic nature of these educational boards allows them to do anything they want same is the case with the SATs they charge so high for a test and many times don't even put effort into it there have been reported cases where the college board has used the same exact test again like didn't evwn bother making new questions..
