So I had a bit of a stuff up in terms of taking IT and Computer Science in the same exam series (which apparently is not allowed). So I can basically write Computer science in October/November and then IT next year May/June. Only problem with this is that I was supposed to finish school this year not next year. I've already completed the syllabus for IT though. However, I'm going to take a gap year next year to job shadow and really get out there to see what I want to do. Would studying for one subject impede on my time otherwise, I don't know.

I then had another thought, maybe I should write chemistry on IGCSE level in October/November this year (yes, I didn't take chemistry) and then completely scrap having to write IT next year May/June. Reason I'm doing this at all is to get more APS points for uni.

My teacher then had a thought and suggested that I write IT next year May/June as well as Chemistry IGCSE in October/November this year.

So APS points is basically the universla value of the result you receive for a subject.

Some degrees at my uni require something in the range of 25 to 40.

Majority of the ones I was looking at require 32 to 36 though.

A B on IGCSE gets you a lowest score of 4 APS points (though I have seen some uni's give more), a B on AS level gets you 6 APS points.

Points increase/decrease by one for each sign higher/lower you get on your results.

If 80/120 is an A in thresholds

And you have 86/120

Thats an A in that component

And they have an overall threshold too

Like for as its totally 130 marks

So maybe

75/130 is an A

And you got 85/130 raw marks

You get an A
