Problem with Inventory Pets

So i'm playing on a privat server with a friend of mine and i recently got my hands on the chicken pet. It gets seeds to eat and i get the Speed boost but it is not giving me eggs. So I think its a bug?

You made sure give eggs is turned on

yes i did

I also made sure that in Mod Options the "disable pet config" is set to false, i even left another space in the hotbar where you keep the pet but even then i am not getting any eggs...

that mod options is for editing config in singleplayer in game but dont do it

ah ok... we are playing on a nitrado server

I just tried a few different pets like the ocelot, cow etc. and these are working perfectly fine, so could it be that the chicken is just buggy?
