Hey everyone, does anyone have any tips or tricks for the rendezvous/circ burns? Every time I've tried this mission, my orbit is either too high or too low, and an actual rendezvous is impractical or I'd have to spend all my RCS in lowering the orbit. I follow whatever burn information CC gives me, and they all go well (zero residue), but the orbit just does not line up.

I follow the briefing's flight plan. Circ burn at Ap, Skylab rendezvous burn, Circ burn at Ap
This is pure luck unfortunately and because you can’t use save states at all of you mess up it’s 40 minutes down the drain.
Some say doing it that way you can make it but I did it in NASSP and it was way easier then this and this is supposed to be a game not a sim
Even If I were to line up the orbit in one go, it still doesn't put me in the same spot as Skylab...at least so far
Is it actually down to luck?
Well when I do the same thing as you ive seen Skylab but translating over to it is the hard part you have one chance. And at this point I believe it is luck not many have the achievement
i manually fired the sps to save on maneuvering fuel. Also save states did work for me if you ended up close enough to skylab. Just had to wait a minute after loading for every thing to settle down and then try and find the skylab nearby.
I found Skylab the first time, but I only had a rendezvous opportunity at a single point during orbit. I was used to matching the full orbits together, so I cancelled it
Second time my whole orbit was slightly higher
Here’s how it’s done in NASSP using the actual software notice how easy it is https://youtu.be/hjxHm7mJAIE?si=SD79vJ2D8wQdImaS considering this is a game and not a sim it should be way easier to do here but that isn’t the case unfortunately
Project Apollo - NASSP (also known as NASSP) is an add-on for the Orbiter space flight simulator. Project Apollo simulates the Apollo missions to Earth orbit and the Moon, and is slowly expanding to simulate planned post-Apollo missions that never flew. Project Apollo features a near-full implementation of the control panels in the Command Modul...
And I know what your thinking different games physics etc but it proves my point I did this in NASSP first time here in Reentry it’s a pain to do and it shouldn’t be at all
skylab is very early in development, it'll get easier later on but the systems to make it so will take time.
I know that Ive been around for quite a while now a few years since 2024.
but here’s the thing Skylab was put out and that was it no fixes anything and if it’s early development it shouldn’t be a achievement yet because people will think it’s done ive seen so many threads about this same problem imo it’s not ready for prime time yet.
Like the number of people who have made it is super small and even then they had to fudge it to get there doing unrealistic stuff to make it.
When i did it a few days ago, i had to manually enter the data into p30 and then do the normal p52 op1, p40, while also using the map to ensure perfect circ orbits with rcs after sps. if i recall correctly the imu looked like 5 degrees off from orb rate at time of burn
Yeah the CC uplink doesn't work in the Skylab mission. Everything in the computer needs to be manually entered
Yes thats correct it’s because it’s not fully implemented into the main game yet and seems to be on the back burner but even if you do everything right you’ll see Skylab maybe get close and then drift away you have about 2-3 minutes to get there before you have to restart
like you said since its an achievement i do wish it was worked on a little more and not hidden behind an alpha checkbox lol
