Dear All, does somebody know how to share the mission in 3 parts (corresponding to the 3 orbits) with something like PAUSE/SAVE/EXIT/LOAD or RESUME ?
Because I believe I am not able to keep ingame for 5 hours in front of the screen...maybe my pc gamer laptop would not appreciate...thank you for your help.

You can use time acceleration (1 to 9, 0 is active pause)

Still, it should be doable in an hour, two at most, like nearly all missions.

Thank you, I will try this and see what happens.

You can save state from the pause menu. Don't know how well that works for the historicals though

Hello, thanks, copy that. By the way, do you know if historical missions are mandatory for the next step in the carrier and level ?

Nope, they are not. In fact I find campaign missions easier, are they are themselves building what you have learbed. Historic missions are a bit harder.

hello, yes at least the Mercury Atlas 6 historic is hard. I tried 4 times but I am stuck at the first 30' time from launch when instructions are given to player 1 to perform a yaw manoeuver n° 5 in the missions tools : I did it accordingly to the checklist, then no more instructions window, record of historic communications, or whatsoever. it is a bit frustrating. and f.y.g. I tried the PAUSE/ESC/SAVE STATE but no save when I press the save button.

it seems like you don't need to do the maneuvers correctly, just go throught the checklist.

#

i noticed that when pressing "c" it shows you the current objective. i had the same issue, didn't realize that i needed to run the 30 min checklist (or whatever it was asking for).

#

i gave it another try the next day, and made it through to Retro, but the timing was a few minutes off at that time (and i was almost out of fuel, the time acceleration always kills the capsule attitude), so my retro burn happened a few minutes before the radio. and then it somehow ended the mission when i clicked the manual periscope switch. kind of disappointing after 3 hours of orbiting and going through the checklists. i finished listening to the radio recording on the youtube channel next day..

Dear All, I completed the historic MA 6 Friendship 7 successfully with 3 saved states. I has been tricky but very exciting. Only one timeline issue at the end of the flight : just after the request to switch to ASCS Norm and open the pre-retro checklist, the timeline stops and there is no more communications with CC until just before the splashdown : then timeline starts again with the following dialog : "CC : Have you completed pre-retro checklist at this time ? Player1 : That's affirmative, I'm just now completing it. etc....". So, basically all the communications regarding the re-entry are delayed until the splashdown. But It's still possible to end the flight as it was a custom mission or freeplay.

did you make sure to complete what was written in the 'current objective' box?

To "pending" : Well, I don't remember...what was expected to be written in ?

the comms messages are triggered whenever you complete what is written in the current objective box. if you somehow managed to not flick the specific switch it was checking for until later on in the mission that would explain why there was a delay. I haven't personally done this mission so I don't know what it would want you to have done. However you can check what the current objective is by pressing 'o' if it is not already visible onscreen.

Thanks for this information. I try again the saved state involved and check the box.
