I noticed that the Steam achievement for completing the Mercury-Atlas 6 historical mission was given just for selecting the mission from the list without having to play the mission. In addition, after completing the mission, the mission page says that the MCC version of the Mercury-Atlas 6 mission is now available, but when I click on the link, it seems to only point to the regular version of the mission.

Also, if possible, can you check the sequence of messages and commands between the astronaut and mission control given after retro and through reentry and landing? I felt many of the messages were a little late or out of sync to the time in the mission. If this has already been brought up, then thank you in advance for checking it out.

It is easy to get any offsets on these Historic missions tho, I have my attempt at the mission here, was it similar in the end for you?

This is a playthrough of the new Mercury-Atlas 6: Friendship 7 Historical Mission in Reentry - A Space Flight Simulator.

This is my attempt at trying to design a realistic recreation of the mission. You can use this video to help your execution of this mission during your own playthrough.

The entire session is 3 hours, 21 minutes and 37 second...

I did watch that video after my play through, and your mission was very similar to mine for most of it. The only part that was different was during the messages about the modified reentry procedures with the retro pack. Your messages were timed correctly, but mine seemed to come later. It is possible I may have missed a timed message or event and that could have caused my messages to be late in the game. I plan to replay very soon to confirm if I missed the timing.

yeah, that should be fully possible

Do you recall what the first message you received that felt out-of-sync?

I am unsure of which message was first to seem out of sync, but it seemed to start just before retro sequence.
The main ones were when I was already going through reentry fire when started getting messages about needing to get into retro attitude and manually retracting the periscope.

I just completed the MA-6 mission again. Before doing so, I verified my flies on Steam and no issues with files. Also, during times in the mission, I used some time scale up to 20x during "dead" periods. Also, I followed all instructions and used the "Complete Objective" box to make sure I did not miss any important tasks.

Everything seems ok during the mission, but the messages still start to seem out of sync after retrofire has been completed. For instance, the messages that I listed before, like about going into reentry attitude, bypassing the 0.5G switch, and retracting the periscope are all given at times when the spacecraft is just starting the fireball phase of reentry. In particular, the messages about manually retracting the telescope appear only after the periscope was retracted automatically.

I am thinking of going through the mission again, but without doing any time scale at all, but if I remember correctly, you did some time scale in your video about the same mission, so this might not be a time scale issue.

Also, I wanted to talk about the MA-6 Friendship 7 (MCC) mission again. The problem that I discovered was that when clicking on the MA-6 Friendship 7 (MCC) button to open the mission, when clicking Launch, it sends you to the MCC version of Mercury-Redstone 4 historical mission.

In closing, none of these issues prevented me from completing the mission successfully. I found this particular mission extremely enjoyable due to a lot of the interactivity between John Glenn and Mission Control.
