#How do you rendezvous when you are in stable orbit at far distances.

I cannot reach a proper rendezvous that passes by at close distances, so I am 100,000 feet away. Is their any way to rendezvous or do I need to restart.

#

ok I figured out if you set the apoapsis slightly higher you will slowly approach it as the slight increase allows the gemini to catch up

#

ok never mind

#

didn't work

just difficult to do

#

also

#

how do you burn good enough to fly by at close distances

lusty spade
#

Yeah how much you have to do do it and wait varies

carmine wadi
#

like I saw in the video

#

Other option would really be to restart

I think one issue people have is timing

#

Like that you have to do a 50/50 burn

#

also the goofy lights

#

how

carmine wadi
#

oh wait

#

god damn I play ksp

#

and I ignored burn time

#

because it never mentioned it in the tutorials

#

I will restart with that in mind

#

and ignore when it says to burn

#

and just doing 50/50

#

Yeah the tutorial could probably be better on that

I forgor

I don't recall exactly what rough-estimate factor I use for m/s to s before T-0

#

also tho if the mission goes passed the retro time

#

all of the staging lights up

#

how do you turn it off

lusty spade
#

Can't really

#

or I guess you could change the retro-time ahead of time

carmine wadi
#

damn also the timer for rendezvous only allows 24 hours

#

so it counts down like 3 hours then

#

it goes to 24

#

why can't the objective's account for more than 24 hours of waiting

Ok, in these situations I do what I learned from KSP to be honest. If I'm too far away after all the normal procedure burns, do the opposite of what's intuitive. I'll be more specific:

#

Check F3 to determine if you generally AHEAD or BEHIND the target along your orbit.

#

If you are AHEAD: Turn SEF (away from the target craft) and thrust forward until your APOGEE (OBC 98) is about 5 miles higher.
Initially it will look like you are moving away, but your orbit now takes more time over-all, and the target will eventually pass-by under you, no more than 5 miles (26,500ft) away.

#

If you are BEHIND: Turn BEF (away from the target craft) and thrust forward until your PERIGEE (OBC 99) is about 5 miles lower.
Again it will look like you are moving away, but your orbit now takes less time over-all, and you will pass the target by below it, no more than 5 miles away.
