#Does L Nar s Officer Ability not work as
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
This might actually have nothing to do with L'Nar specifically. I swapped him out with Data and I'm seeing the same thing. Data's officer ability is likewise not displayed in the Battle Log. It's unclear whether his ability is being applied.
For reproducibility, this is on a Jellyfish with TNG Geordi as captain and TNG Beverley providing support. The 3rd officer on the bridge doesn't seem to have a battle log ability displayed.
One extra hit would have revealed that L'Nar does work against other klingon hostiles, so they're not Klingon for the combat system.
Data looks to be applied as soon as he's on the bridge, and so won't be listed in the logs (as only abilities that effectively activate during combat are intended to be listed).
Was the behavior for Data's officer ability changed such that it was displayed in the past, but isn't now? I am pretty sure I've seen it reported in Battle Logs in the past. Here's what an old CSV that I exported includes near the top of the file:
Fleet Type,Attack,Defense,Health,Ship Ability,Captain Maneuver,Officer One Ability,Officer Two Ability,Officer Three Ability,Officer Attack Bonus,Damage Per Round,Armour Pierce,Shield Pierce,Accuracy,Critical Chance,Critical Damage,Officer Defense Bonus,Armour,Shield Deflection,Dodge,Officer Health Bonus,Shield Health,Hull Health,Impulse Speed,Warp Range,Warp Speed,Cargo Capacity,Protected Cargo,Mining Bonus
Player Fleet 1,15546,18890,22871,Pilot Recognition,Timeless,Rerouting Power,The Dancing Doctor,Power Play,1.5,12818,245,380,2103,0.11,1.55,1.5,84,3622,72,1.5,28137,17604,110,21,3.16,32450,0,1
Enemy Fleet 1,42231,34000,15120,ship_ability_name_{0},--,--,--,--,0,28881,6300,1200,1400,0.1,1.5,0,1200,1400,4200,0,17470,12770,23,2,2,0,0,1
(Emphasis added)
So it appears to be in the CSV that is exported anyway.
I don’t know about L’Nar but La’an’s below deck ability doesn’t work
There was a change to what abilities are listed, though it was before the export feature was added. I'd need to look at an export later, but my guess would be it's just listing what's on the ship.
It does work actually, but it's overstated in many cases. So you get the correct increase in usable amount, but a further stated increase beyond that which isn't usable.
I can confirm that before adding data to the ship, the "Details" tab shows that the ship does 13k damage and after adding him, the display indicates 14k. So it does seem to reflect that a damage bonus is applied.
