I think this is what Scopely continually forget.. players have jobs, chores, lives to lead. The majority have a few hours in the evening where they have a window. This is one of the reasons I feel that the way they run territory defences stagnates so much.. not only do they lag too much but many players can't just stop working to attend a defence.

I liked the event (arrival). Thought for a change they had struck a reasonable balance between reward and grind, and removed some of the frictions of previous (by allowing all four parts to be done at same time). Lag well... Sunday night is always busy (territory and swarms and anomalies which slow game down)

Yup, my Vidar is Tier 4 (only had it 2 weeks and have done the borg daily refine every day since then) and have essentially been told 'get a stronger Vidar'.

Even if I wanted to spend the UC Crystal at the moment I'm physically restricted by the number of nanoprobes.

So not only can that event not be completed for me, but the one you unlock with the daily even tokens from the top milestone is also gated.

I've found that 7, 8, 9 while great for nanprobe grind, doesn't hit large borg very well. You could try running PMT/PMC on larger borg probes to see if you can at least kill enough in one trip to finish faster. Likely won't out on nanoprobes. But for me I prefer the small number of kills hitting 33s and having enough to refine in 1 run, maybe get 2 refines in 2-3 runs, vs the time it takes to grind 29s to max cargo and do 2 refines

7/8/9 works great if you dont have 5. You just have to check battelogs and see if the you are killing the probe in 1 rnd when 7 activates. Then you know you are hitting the best probe for your tier

Wonderful to hear!! I had read ages ago about a pre-Tier 7 Vidar could do 29s with PMT, so I tested and it worked well enough that I was happy to leave the long grind of 26s behind. Then once I did hit T7 (now 8) I decided to try PMC and PMT across the larger ones. Found I could get enough nanoprobes in 1-2 runs intially to easily do 1 refine in a fraction of the time. For me the time saved was worth it vs the lost nanprobe potential

I do have a maxed Vidar, but when I do daily runs through borg (usually 2 runs a day), I use 5/7/9 of 10. Today, I was able to finish the SMS event in two runs through corta gamma (33) space using P/M/T and still almost maxed my cargo hold. I'm not seeing the big issue with people that say the last milestone is way too far out to reach. It's not. It's going to take time to grind and maybe that's an issue, but the biggest issue I had was so many people in the borg 33 space

And most of my alliance has between 40-49 doomsday directives so we can’t even run 1 rare to “clean” out our doomsday directives (cost 50)...

Hey. I’m a tiddler - t6 vidar. . . And yes yes yes - before @nova valley blasts me. . .yes its my own fault for not working on it . . BUT I am all about grinding for things. . .hey - if i have to go hit 800 lvl29 probes and waste reapir speed ups i will. . .BUUTTTT the borg systems are token limited. . .so i can’t go and grind grind grind. Why is aggravating not wanting to spend 30 minutes to one hour per day grinding probes.

What is aggravating for me is the time needed in order to keep up with the game and the fact that the higher levels and ships are practically unavailable without paying.

But I see that no Scopely defender mentions the time needed by the game and the fact that you need to pay to advance past a certain threshold

i can't really speak to that, cause i am a spender. but i'm not crazy. i probably spend 100-200 a month depending on what's available. and for about 6 months i spent 20 bucks on just battlepass. so i do a ton of grinding. i didn't spend on disco. didn't spend on franklin. didn't spend on franklin a. didn't spend on vidar. what i usually buy is battlepass, and probably a monthly pack. and occassionally, a ship pack lol so i grind plenty

I normally have 9 but I screwed myself over by neglecting my Vi'Dar and had to use 5 today but still have 4 left and I will get another 2 tomorrow so I can still finish the event

33s are easier like the 29s because of their firing pattern

So my t5 Vidar with PMC killed 12x lvl 33 probes. =19,164 points. So that’s your prime spot to kill them.

33s firing pattern is like 29s, so 33s are easier to kill.
