here is the issue with those events... nobody understood them and complained
all events are "locked" when you score in them
so... if you simply upgrade ops... with out scoring by spending a lower amount first to lock them
when you ops upgrade completed... the milestone was moved... and you got 0 rewards
for them to come back either they need to make that clear so that EVERYONE understands it

revamp the entire event

@frosty notch I never chase. It's a money trap. The only reason I am responding is in the Hope that scopely will read it and find a clue. I represent the vast majority of players who are willing to spend. I shall not by packs that will not: 1. Fully tier a ship appropriate for my current play level, 2. Any pack that contains 2 star mats, and anything requiring me to put my credit card against other players. The "rescue" events are auctions, and though I can probably, outspend most players, I wont. The old term "coiner" still applies in a pay to win scenario. A coiner is a player who cannot compete against equal players without "coining" to gain an advantage. All else equal, the vast majority of whales in stfc are coiners and could not be competitive all else remaining equal.

Regardless, the answer to the question is: Scopely likes money. Smaller (more fair) brackets = less competition/more people get stuff = less money.

How so?

You'd only reduce spots if you chose to reduce spots. With the length of time and RSS impact being much higher in the 30s, brackets should be tiny, no more than 2-3 levels. Ex. one bracket could be 31-32, next 33-34, etc. Still the same reward structure (each bracket awards top 25).

Only reason to have a massive bracket like 31-39 is to keep people spending.

it would reduce the spots because in an auction like this, scopely is only prepared to release "xxx number of shards" into the game server. more brackets, equal less shards. and less shards would equal less priority on the spend, which would equal less spend. it's all carefully balanced around the simple fact that it is indeed "an auction." the highest bid wins.

Fact is...in a f2p or p2w capacity, a 31 has no shot against a 39 in any auction except in rare cases. 39 already has the advantage of higher reward brackets in milestone events, refinery rates, pack rewards etc. So even if a ftp decides to spend money, the 39 still has a better chance. Nobody can truthfully say otherwise.

Well, Harrison auction is still bad, particularly because with the combat system Harrison is terrible unless MAXED. With the new math of damage to shields potentially being negative... the 80/20 damage split happens even if the shield has 1 point on it. The old battle system would take 1 point off, deplete the shield, and put the rest to the hull. Thus Harrison is either at or over 100% or irrelevant (Pike+Moreau at tier 1, Bones+Kirk at tier 3 can boost him to round 1 shield bypass, but that's it. TOS uhura secondary when vs players and you have morale... don't think there are other officer cominations)

The point on Harrison is to MAX him, not merely unlock now. Unless they are adding full Section 31, Kang et Al, and Romulan Patriot sets to the faction stores sometime soon... #ReturnTheBurn. I'll take Maxed Harrison + Gorkon and Kerla for g4 whale smacking. Anything less than maxed out Harrison there no longer works tho.

It looks like he is working perfectly here. In the first shot, unmitigated damage is 146,991. 80:20 would be 114,593 and 29,398. Instead, he adds 60% of the amount that would have gone to the shield, or 70,555.69 to the 29,398 for a total of 99,954. Exactly as he is intended to.

@abstract gate what's up with Faction Hunt?! It barely is offered anymore and now the event rewards are at least half of what they used to be. Many times many of us players have asked for Faction Hunt to be brought back as a weekly event just like Latinum Rush is on Monday and Swarms are on Sunday, but what gives with cutting the rewards, especially when you're not even giving us it as frequently as you have in the past. A lot of F2P players have come to rely on it. Feels like the more and more that we play the less we are welcome.

In the future it would be fantastic (and logical) if the Jelly auction's last day wouldn't be on the day of the maintenance. In the past we had many problems after a patch update, such as login issues, lag, game crashes and sometimes even the game had to go back into maintenance for quite some time.

Hey Scopely, do you have ANY idea when the bug will be fixed that prevents the augment mission chain, which SHOULD start with Uncaged in Lycia, from opening up so I can complete those missions to access augment space?

Don’t think I’m being patronising here, but I’m getting nowhere fast here. I can’t get into augment space because of that bug, so I CAN’T open the augment store, so I CAN’T mine green data in augment space, so I CAN’T make progress with the rogue store, which means I CAN’T get the blueprints to build the Stella, which is the only ship I can use to beat hostiles in rogue space.

And your team still can’t give me answer on problems the bug is causing, or an estimated ETA...It’s been WEEKS, Scopely...Come on already!!!

Event stores. They come at the end of each set of arcs (we're in the second for TOS, usually there's 3 or 4 and an event store in the last one). You can get the ships F2P in the event store if you're at the right level.

At the end of each series of arcs, usually 3 or 4 arcs per, will be an event store. You earn event store currency during this final arc that you can spend on any items in the event store.
There are requirements for certain items, like ship blueprints (ops level, faction reputation), but if you meet the requirements then you can acquire event ship blueprints. Some ships like the Stella can be obtained in full, others will need to obtained over multiple event stores like the Franklin.

sorry to say, but new joiners are kinda hosed. i started playing in the middle of the first jellyfish event, and never got enough BPs to finish. now, that impact is certainly less than stella BP events (even though there are some jelly events), but still was very hampering to not have a jelly when everyone else did...even to this day when they run those jelly pvp events

or maybe i started before the jelly event, but i reached the required ops level after the jelly event started, so i only got half the bp i could (including the jelly bp missions)
