there is a way for f2p to get these event ships, btw. It's just kinda slow.

I got my franklin completely f2p, but it took me about 6 months. They just need to remove the lock in the event store, such that you can get a full ship with event points when they are available.

That would be my guess. We've had CoW before the last 4 arcs. But we've had a couple of territory capture announcements in the past few days. I wonder if they will release that before the next arc? Or maybe that will be part of the arc?

This is functionally not much different than having just one

It's still better to have more than one is my point which is why bps need to be available. Beyond that we have a few in our alliance who werent around for the stella event initially and dont even have one, so they couldn't participate in the stella pvp. These ships need to have a way to get bps all the time not just on a limited basis if you want new people to join the game and have any way to participate in half the stuff to do in this game. It just makes no sense to me why they wouldn't want to encourage new players in the game not discourage. Their playerbase is dwindling based on the graphic posted yesterday.

@storm token the spore drives and other rewards need to be separated from the flash events is the feedback that alot of players have given. Alot of people dont like them and are bored/fed up with them after 16 days of them last month. They have been made as an event you HAVE to do otherwise you cant get spore drives to upgrade the disco or do research for the summoning if the SME wasn't attached to the Flash events then players wouldn't mind and can then chose not to do them. F2P players are forced to do them otherwise they cant get the spore drives

Not so much about easiness of flash event but more about other 100 things you have to do... Borg/swarm/ factions /mining etc... and now crucible event running.... you have to put all shit aside and run for that stupid 2 points to get anywhere with your disco

I'm ops 36.. takes maybe 40 minutes total including travel time for three faction pve dailies.. Mining takes a few hours of broken attention, two borg trips total 30 minutes, three swarm trips total 40 minutes... Hostile hunt and faction hunt might take an hour each... The other six hours a day are for whatever you want to do. Personally, I like raiding, running armadas, and grinding easy leaderboards in my free time.

I have 2 jobs 3 young kids and a wife I get little time with due to us both working. So when I get a chance to do events I'd like to do them at the time I can log in not when I'm told I have to do them or I have to miss out. That is the problem with the sme being attached to flash events its not on the players agenda its on scopleys. This is what ive been saying for ages flash events are fine but have them as a separate event and not attached to an sme that has components that are needed for a ship and research. Or put those items on hostiles so players can grind them at their own pace and have the sme as an added bonus with the flash events. Dont limit them to a single event that dictates when players have to play

If that's the same video again, then not really. It's fine for most people below a certain level, might have been 30? But it doesn't work out for everyone below that point and they washed their hands of it completely for anyone over that level. There's more to it, no one knows what though.

When I get Ms, its usually a faction ship ops lvl, with the shipyard built, but not the faction ship. Rep level has needed to be in line with the faction ship of that ops lvl.

I've had MS every time it's run that i know of - including after i got epic ship build and now at ops38, will be completing d4 built for this one.
Alliance mate in very similar state hasn't got one for months - only difference we could see is that he's built all 3 faction miners while i haven't built klingon miner.

Why isn't there a place in Rom space to hit 41 hostiles, that doesn't require like warp 65 to get to? We desperately need a Groombridge equivalent in Rom space, why doesn't it exist?
@abstract gate to be honest they need to remove the block for dark space. You can explore all of normal space at level 28 if you leveled your level 28 ships to warp 60. Also need more faction missions to be added

I've had MS every time it's run that i know of - including after i got epic ship build and now at ops38, will be completing d4 built for this one.
Alliance mate in very similar state hasn't got one for months - only difference we could see is that he's built all 3 faction miners while i haven't built klingon miner.
@winged tulip just my theory has he done the shipyard for current level?

The rules for MS have made more sense before you're ops34 and don't have an epic ship built - it's after you've got an epic and are higher ops that they start to seem more random

@dapper drum that would seem to be the case with me anecdotally except my team mate gets military supremacy every time with literally the same exact thing as me across the board.. level 37 with the same epic ships built, same triple faction locked, and all buildings upgraded minus vaults etc . I complained to Scopely and received a canned response about targeted events for certain people which makes no sense either.

@junior jewel If Territory Capture is the next release, then probably yes, this has been the way with all the other Arcs, it ends, then we get a couple of 'filler' events until the next content patch drops (whatever that might be).
Usually 1-2 weeks in-between Arcs, going by the past 6 months or so.
I personally don't mind a bit of 'downtime' from events.

Outlaw pt3 August 5th - 30th (9 days till next)
Disco pt1 September 8th - Oct 1st. (4 days)
Disco pt2 6th October - 29th

It all depends on the day arc finishes, and how long they have till the next if it’s only a couple days that’s not enough time to prep before the next arc.

In New Zealand we had our countries time change end of September, so our went forward an hour 6 weeks ago. Aussie had theirs last month, and yet we never mentioned or complained about it.
As soon as eu or us had theirs, the everyone loses their minds 😂

The odd thing is that there are different reset times now for various clock-based things. Dailies didn’t change with DST, so now they’re “off” by an hour than they used to be, and some of the events changed and other did not.

So I have a question.

Since all players earn the exact same amount of points regardless of level, and it states that all level of players will be able to participate.

What's stopping an alliance of all new players at level 9 from holding capture points without being hit.

I doubt it, there is a pretty big ship imbalance on our server, most of the 4* ships outside Jellyfish are all in a single alliance, and are tier 4+, think I've seen 1 4* ship outside that alliance

I would say widen the hit ranges a bunch more, but completely opening them up, lots of F2P players don't have speedy ships at the lower lvls

Especially on newer servers where you want to keep your players playing

everyone has the fastes ship in the game, its called the realta, and with a pan crew, or even kerla with synergy it will out run even the strongest ships, hence why a discovery summon can be an advantage,
But this is where strategy comes in, if you see the number 1 strongest alliance going for a territory, dont go for that one, go for a different one,

and also other alliance diplomacy will come into play also for helping defend a territory capture, theres many ways to organise and strategise this,

I don't disagree.............. It looks good on paper, I think that's about as far as it extends.

The main fights will mostly be between the mid level alliances, once the top ones have hit their territory limits.

That's my prediction based off my server though. The alliance diplomacy will most likely just be agreeing which ones to trade off.

This is beautiful in concept. I HOPE it presents as well as it’s been designed. Alliances are capped on how many territories they can hold. With over 60 territories there are plenty for everyone. Buuuuuut. Don’t go after mine. I will murder death kill your ships.

Its the perfect solution, but complaints will proceed 😂

Dedicated Zones for PVP, you can fight or apply pan and dodge to earn points, so even those 😈 evil game destroying whales cant beat speed.

You can do your day to day mining and pve without hiding for 24 hours and flooding discord with disgust.

Its an alliance event so your have targets to fight even if the top tier of that alliance are out of your league.

But socialism will be called for, why do the biggest alliances get the best territories with their ships they have spent thousands of pounds on, my f2p kumari should have equal opportunity to aquire the same territory buffs, 😂😂

On paper i think this sounds amazing, and if you hate pvp you wont care about the territory perks, as a rule in life if i hate an activity, i don't tend to cry about not getting any of the benefits i may lose out on by not doing it.

That being said can't wait for the bugs something like this is going to create 😁 yay compensation chests inbound.

But its ok... just dont join in i wont sit in a board meeting watching a territory notification off raging i am working an can't participate, and request scope align events preferably between 7pm to 8pm after my commute and had some dinner, i will just relax and join my alliance in one that suits my free time.

Its a big development in what we scream 'and i agree' can be a very repetitive game.

Embrace it in its early version, or mine and hit hostiles it either changes your game for the better or can leave your game in the status quo,

Yea they are zone specific as in the alliance that owns that territory get the bonuses, but depending on the buffs or bonuses you don’t have to be in the territory, as long as your alliance controls the territory they apply to your alliance anywhere

throwing territory capture into the 3rd phase of the Discovery arc seems strange to me, even based on STFC standards.

I honestly hope that it's given it's own dedicated single month arc after Discovery is done, giving it another 30 days to bake with playtesters. I mean, we haven't gotten the "mega Klingon crypt" armada yet, spanning thousands of lightyears!

I'm more saying from a story perspective. Adding in a bunch of new territories, and a completely new gameplay mechanic, during Act 3 of the story just seems a bit out of place. While it's possible they could work something into the Harry Mudd angle here, it just seems out of place.

I'd rather see it have a story arc where the purpose for the new area of space is front and center (like the Rogue Outlaw space), than just have it appear.

as I understood from the two Territory Capture articles on scopley.com,
there should be a NEW zone, the "Origin Sector", with NEW Systems,
and the whole capture thing will ONLY affect the NEW ORIGIN systems

it should have no impact on the existing systems, where we're all used to mine or have our bases

For instance, Rator or P'Jem, Ferraria or Lakeside, Zosam or Rowla, will NOT fall in the Zones and will NOT be object of Territory Capture

Minus some sort of CI/CD flow where you can release code as soon as its ready and tested, Tuesday or Wednesday are my favourite release days, means you can finish a sprint/ set of work on the Friday and have the Monday to sort out the paperwork, and gives you most of the rest of the week to fix the things that break 😊

Patch Tuesday is a thing for a reason for a lot of tech companies

You will live. Let’s be honest, these are the last 3-4 hours of a 24h event. If you were not able to complete it by now, you don’t really deserve any compensation, and you smell like a gold-digger. That is unless you are a worker in the medical field, and you really were busy, otherwise, not that many excuses. And plus, rewards are not that flashy.

It's not the players fault if SCOPLEY posts a schedule and players plan around that schedule. You don't have to work in the medical field to have a real life... To suggest someone will live and they should have finished it by now shows that you don't have a real job and probably never did..

Since a defending team of whales is already in the system ... they park their whale warships on their nodes during takeover. The other ships can just park beside their bases and be replaced instantly while attackers have to range a significant distance. How is this not just a wet kiss to whales for their own gated communities no one can raid them in ? They spent loads of money, they need protections from getting raided!

Doesn’t make sense at all as Scopely just took a huge % of resources out of the raiding pool. It’s impossible to range raid a team with whales in a hive who are active. At least before you could relo in and pester them or push through defenses for a short time. Now, resources will just make their way to the whale teams more then ever and not go anywhere else.

Our whales already don’t even shield. They understand the cost to raid them is billions of tritanium. The model is nuts ... People pay $30000 plus to get beast ships that get parked because using them takes $20 to repair a single time.

I'm a commodore in my alliance, ops 34, and updated my client through app store as well as reinstalled it again...

i ask because the first few will be chaotic, planning out strategy and timing of alliance members availability, planning adjacent territories and buffs will be helpful. Right now it doesn't look easy to identify/plan without a lot of clicking.

No, you can get tokens more than once a week - it is just that a specific zone will only be available for a takeover once per week. Alliances should be able to control more than 1 zone per week.

That's going to be very hard to do. We expect the top alliances will mostly compete for one T3 and one T2 . Controlling 5 is not going to be doable/easy for most.
