We understand that the lag issue is real and annoying. If there was an easy fix (like adding x servers) then we would do it but it is a more complicated topic and a combination of the client (the app) and the server which means that the device you are using can also have some effect.
It is a high priority issue for us and we have engineers dedicated to the game performance (lag) problem.
We put a lot of effort into making these events/features and we don't want something like lag to take away from your ability and/or enjoyment in playing them.
No easy fix here but know that we are actively working on this.

client side lag in events (such as targeting) is usually resources on your device. spreading people out is the best the Devs can do, outside of you upgrading your device, or shutting down background apps

Hi @toxic urchin its great to see a dev here.
Some key suggestions from my point of view.

As servers mature, and content grows older, things like swarm space need to expand. At launch 2 32 systems and 1 35 was fine, now many have maxed Franklin's its really cramped.

Would love to one day see an additional layer of complexity in events, where choices have consequences, maybe an event where having rom ships gives you a buff, then another where fed ships etc, or certain crew types get a performance boost, i know some events give you extra points like now, but actual performance boost would be interesting.

Commercially i get fed being the favoured faction makes sense, but rom and klingon are so neglected in comparison a better rotation to make faction choice mean more.

And its been long mentioned but the ability to rotate crew setups outside of base, thats a great layer of complexity to add to the game, some actual strategy required

@toxic urchin Some personal observations (I'm sure repeated many times over) from the latest event - Selecting hostiles once spawned was intermittent (some times easily clicked, other times it took 5- 6 tries), twice the hostile disappeared before selecting attack. Spawn rates seemed slow, but I think this also has to do with spawn locations after kills (there were less hostiles and players in the NE quadrant of the system, where I was - Netron Omega).

What's up with some players anywhere? In my bracket there is one player having a perfect 123 score. But he never shows up in the hourly rankings. Also some players show up in the hourly rankings of my bracket but are being counted in another 5 day ranking. What's up with some players anywhere? In my bracket there is one player having a perfect 123 score. But he never shows up in the hourly rankings. Also some players show up in the hourly rankings of my bracket but are being counted in another 5 day ranking. Got this information from an alliance member where the player in question appeared in their ranking. Scopely confusion at it's best again.
@hushed sentinel Both those have different ranked gaps dependent on Level. The solo farming hostiles is tighter so you may not see higher levels in this but you will be ranked with some of them in the SLB.

@winged tulip the way it reads, trading kills won't be possible. lose points for losing. gain points for winning. so trading will be null effect. but of course without seeing the score metrics we don't know, but just in the initial read, looks like it could be some fun.

But, the latest Unity event requires you to answer a quota of Help Requests (180° out of phase with Daily cycle) or donate (scant?) resources in order to gain points.

Yup stupid event - would be better if you could only hit same level as you - as it is I am L32 and can be hit by all players above me and we have many L40 - 49. I can't compete against those players let alone ones 2 levels higher than me. Simply encouraging bullying @twilit imp - please change so you only gets points for same level kills (or perhaps 1 above/below) or massive negative points for hitting player lower than you.

I think it's pretty funny that the event is designed to showcase the major balancing issues this game has. If the PvP brackets were reasonable I wouldn't mind to go farming hostiles and bring a second ship as backup, but the brackets being the way they are it is farmville tonight.

It's not like they never heard that the PvP brackets are crap, but need them because otherwise ppl lose incentive to progress further away from the pack aka spend tons of money. And they decided not to put something in this event to adress that. It's not because they don't care, but because they care about something different than all players being super happy. Major, that's why they launch new servers. If there are OP players anyways you cannot realistically make new whales out of new players on that server, they will never catch up. So: New server - new incentive - new whale.

I've been thinking about ways for Scopely to add some balance. One idea I have is a "corbomite device". This would be a device one could attach to their ship that would cause a massive self-destruct when attacked, destroying almost any strength enemy. There would be restrictions to how many one could have and how often one could build one. The idea would be to add risk to players attacking other ships. A high level player would have to decide if it's worth the risk of their ship getting blown up when attacking another player.

the folks leaving the alliance get zero rewards. They are sacrificing themselves so that their alliance members can gain points and rewards. This is pre-existing part of the ALB design.

I know some people like this event. I understand its plus points but its been badly handled by scopely to benifit whales or high level players.

@twilit imp so why the hell would you guys not disable booting/leaving/creating new alliances during this pvp event???? Big alliances are just creating shadow alliances and hitting each others ships over and over and over. How would you guys not Foresee that being used and an exploit???

Some PvP games have diminishing returns for killing the same player over and over.....I think they just didnt bother thinking about "loopholes".....the spirit of the event is fine....they just need to fine tune it in the future.....also reduce the time to a 3 hour block of time for example.

@granite zenith I can understand, but disagree. They made an excessively unbalanced system that rewards unfair play. Then they put a leaderboard into it creating a purge.

Many servers setup Purge days to appease the PvP hungry players. It's best to leave it that way. I enjoyed the PvP events with lower level ship contained in special systems. Kind of fun using older ships and testing officers/crews. This is just a waste of resources.

Love the ideas people have been posting about flash events, or making the points tighter (only points for killing ships of the same grade or within 2 levels of you or whatever)

Normally I play about 8 hours a day. This ridiculous pvp event kills all the fun. I'll take a break.

@granite zenith to kill players they need to have their ships out. Only ships i see in systems now are the level40+ nobody else is playing the game which counted it 7 ships in 35 systems searched so far. No other ships are out anywhere

@vocal peak try clearing the cashe (localization) it worked for me when they had to reset the events
