What is happening with these events? The event panel just says "recieving:..." and the panels that tell you what to do are not updating.
Other events are fine. Just the Strength in Numbers one. I only know what its called because its name appeared when I collected the rewards

@twilit imp - why do you offer packages in the store with Battle Pass point to people that have completed the event already? You can either offer kits without the points but increase the other categories of rewards, or give us a way to cash out the rewards that we earn and can’t redeem any other way.

You might also want to learn the difference between a complaint and a suggestion.

Battle pass points are for that event, it's not currency. Those packs are a luxury, if you buy them to rush content, you get xtra. If you miss a few days of getting points, you can buy them to finish event. Dont buy the packs if you dont need them.

Regarding the ISS Jellyfish event. I noticed it was skipped this month on our sever (APAC-198) this also happened in July too - so it is seeming is or more every two months these days rather than the “monthly” that it has is written on the actual event page.
Can you advise me of when it is likely to be on for “APAC-198? Or is it deliberately not advertised in advance so we cannot plan around it?
I see both advantages & disadvantages for us as players to it not being announced in advance, however if it was at least offered monthly this would be good as that only means 1 new jellyfish per month per server. Because we all know that actually unlocking it through Epic Armada chests is a very unlikely process.

The repeat mechanism usually goes along this track.. time 1 - Whales buy 1st place, time 2 - whales who didn't win time 1 buy 1st place, time 3 everyone else has a go using hoarded resources.
I like it's repeated.. gives us non-whales a chance to pick up the event avatars / frames - if you allowed substitutions then .. you get the drift.
The only real benefit to buying battlepass points is for people unable to complete events every day who want the rewards (i.e. the Disco BPs). Everything else is for purchased bragging rights.

It's an issue for multiple languages, we're just looking at the best way to gather information on this and get these sorted out proper whilst not creating an overwhelming workload in our free time already strained by the regular moderating tasks.
Channels like #👾-bug-reporting are very useful for gathering many facts on a given issue, but not so much for creating a list of unique faults. We might just bite the bullet at one point though as it's understandably frustrating and leads to people thinking they're intentionally being mislead which obviously is undesirable.

The problem seems to be that either the description of the event is wrong or the event itself is buggy.
The description says that you earn 30 points for stealing 1 latinum from another player and that he will get subtracted 30 points per latinum for any latinum he lost... That is the description.
The thing that happened is that i instantly with the start of the event had hit two other players for a hughe ammount of latinum.
The points on my side seemed to be okay but in the highscore the other players have had almost the same amount of points i had earned from them directly after my hit.
Cause of the game mechanics that score points instantly when a ship leaves a node it would be comprehensible if they got this points in the first place, not very logic but comprehensible.
The point that definitely doesnt work is the subtraction on the other players side. It didn't happen.
I've filled a support ticket about that but they only said that it "could be possible" that the other players could have hit other players too... So, i had asked them about this and I'm glad that they has been cool about it and responded... It turned out that they didn't hit anyone...
That is the thing.
If it had worked purely as in the description told the one have had to start with roundabout -2 million points, the other with roundabout -1,1 million.
If, cause of the game mechanics, the points for them counting as soon as leaving the node cause of the attack than they had to start with roundabout 0 points...
Both got theyre millions counting for the highscore. No subtractions at all.
So something seems to be wrong...
It would be very nice if you can take care about this. I don't have, cause of many, many bad experiences with the ingame support system, no hope that they could handle anything about this 😏

@exotic robin you bring up an interesting thought here - if you hit a player, do they get the +25 points for the mined amound, and then have -30 points for the opc you stole (thus it's only net -5 points for the opc values).

@pale cobalt that would be logical on the mining side, but what Butcherboy is showing is that the mining player doesn't lose the 30 points per lat lost (thus no -5 lat). Sounds like the calculation for the leaderboards isn't working properly in this scenario.

You’ll never get below zero because to be over cargo you have to already have cargo, it’s only the overcargo that you lose points.
You gain 25 points for each Lat you have on your ship, as soon as the ship is hit, ALL the contents including the opc count for points, the same way it would if you hopped off the mine and back on again,
So you gain 25 points, then lose 30 points only for the opc that gets stolen,
So if you have 10,000 cargo, with 5000 protected.
You’d get 25 points on the total 10,000, but lose 30 points only on the 5000 opc.
So you’ll still always be in positive, Cos of your protected cargo
So if someone has a large cargo before they go opc they are only losing the 5 points (+25-30) on a small amount compared to the protected cargo hold they have, so they can still gain and climb up on the leaderboard

So they would have to have an opc amount 5 times more then their protected amount to basically earn nothing on the points board.
So for my example before, if they had the 5000 protected, they would’ve had to mine 30,000 with an opc of 25,000 to earn nothing. Where the points they gained - the points they lost equal 0.
I do remember in the past there were some time when it glitched and it didn’t total properly, if that’s what is happening then totally,
But it all depends what ship they are hitting, it’s not hard to work out, cos you can select any ship and see what their current cargo and protected is. And work out how much they have on the ship, and then hit their ship and calculate of the points are working out correctly

So yea to see if it’s calculating correctly, then a little testing, scan any players ship, select the little “i”and get the cargo and protected info, points they had before the hit and then hit the ship and see the points after.
And can calculate if they are adding and subtracting properly.
And then whatever opc they have and can work out the point they should get minus the points they lost
This one doesn’t have opc so can’t see, and would need to do it during the event to figure out the points differential.

@inland mulch be sure i didnt used a warship. I've got 83710 latinum screenshot is available if necessary... No protective cargo hold can handle it to gain millions of points after that hit for the hitted player.
Is it allowed to post the screenshots here then i can proof this. Have had made some from the lat I've got and from the leaderboard shortly after that. The players themselves told me to not have hit other players in this times. It wouldn't have been possible cause there weren't any with that ammount of lat at this time...

These anomaly events are so annoying. You have to relo down to bad systems because the Disco has trash warp range, you have to be able to hit 15 minute window five times a day, and the systems lag horribly since everyone gets crammed into just a few spots. I was hoping to get at least a week break from this garbage before the next arc, but apparently Scopely can't go for that long without dictating the schedules of their players. This really needs to change.
Yes, if I am fine knowing that doing so will set me back for the next two months worth of arcs. I also could not do this whole game, an option I am getting really close to exercising.

@nova valley without swiping a card all the time, it is extremely hard to make decent progress in the game even if you do all the events available. If the economy wasn't so stingy, then yeah people could easily pick and choose what they actually participate in, and the tryhards could grind super hard to get ahead quicker if they wanted. But the core of the game just doesn't provide enough to be able to ignore the events offered.

🤣🤣 i actually like this arc, but totally not for reasons scopely would hope for. Been playing since launch spent way too much and been threatening to stop spend and play less as time has gone on.
Every time this game has ground down my patience or will to play, i made the same old threats I WILL stop spending, scope your making me want to pĺay less, yet i spend the same money/time playing everyday/week/month.
Anomalies/Disco Arc has really broken the gamification/spending bug for me, like @keen ledge i have been way too busy with work during this arc to log in at any point for 5 random hours a day.
I have been able to play for a solid hour or 2 when i can relax which is really me chosing still to dedicate a lot of some very limited down time at moment but that means, anomalies have been missed almost every day, disco ship is falling behind, next two arcs i will be behind the competitive curve and as the ship is lame and mechanic is underwhelming they haven't built anything here that would lure my credit card out to bridge the progress shortfall due to the time commitment they have imposed that i couldnt keep up with.
So thanks scope you broke the cycle.

@twilit imp anomalies are still not working. I'm having to restart the game before points are counting. This is meant to be a big part of being able to upgrade the discovery yet it doesnt work. I think there needs to be a massive overhall of how players are expected to get the spore drives to upgrade as well as the amount required/given to upgrade

The problem seems to be that either the description of the event is wrong or the event itself is buggy.
The description says that you earn 30 points for stealing 1 latinum from another player and that he will get subtracted 30 points per latinum for any latinum he lost... That is the description.
The thing that happened is that i instantly with the start of the event had hit two other players for a hughe ammount of latinum.
The points on my side seemed to be okay but in the highscore the other players have had almost the same amount of points i had earned from them directly after my hit.
Cause of the game mechanics that score points instantly when a ship leaves a node it would be comprehensible if they got this points in the first place, not very logic but comprehensible.
The point that definitely doesnt work is the subtraction on the other players side. It didn't happen.
I've filled a support ticket about that but they only said that it "could be possible" that the other players could have hit other players too... So, i had asked them about this and I'm glad that they has been cool about it and responded... It turned out that they didn't hit anyone...
That is the thing.
If it had worked purely as in the description told the one have had to start with roundabout -2 million points, the other with roundabout -1,1 million.
If, cause of the game mechanics, the points for them counting as soon as leaving the node cause of the attack than they had to start with roundabout 0 points...Both got theyre millions counting for the highscore. No subtractions at all.
So something seems to be wrong...
It would be very nice if you can take care about this. I don't have, cause of many, many bad experiences with the ingame support system, no hope that they could handle anything about this 😏

The piece of information that's missing is just how many ships the other players had out. I was one of those players he hit. I had 4 mining ships out. He hit one of them. The rest all scored points. There is nothing wrong with the event. It works as it is supposed to.

In regard stealing Latinum, my understanding is that he gets the 30 points for mining Latinum less the 30 points for each unit you steal, so he cannot run negative.
But it's something Scopley should clarify.

The negative points don't seem to count when you got them while they're mining, in my experience.
They get the 25 points per raw paying and don't lose the 30 points or raw paying lost. That loss only happens in open space, and it's to prevent players from passing overloaded latinum back and forth to game the system.

They could still earn the same amount if what you stole from them from their opc depending on what their Protected cargo amount is, if they are losing 5000 opc, but have a protected cargo of 30k then that loss isn’t going to be much, cos they still get points on the protected amount.
I’m not saying that the negative point is or isn’t working properly,
But it’s not hard to do a quick calculation if they are on a leaderboard etc.
find out their protected cargo amount, add the opc amount,
get their total points they would get for mining lat,
Then subtract the points lost from the opc.
The amount that’s left is the points they gained.
If that doesn’t add up to the LB totals, then you can show that as it not work,
So it is still very possible for someone to climb up the board if they have a high protected cargo already,

maybe you are seeing different refine rates at 40 than I am at 29 (most likely), but at ops29 it'll be 3-6 months before I'll see any warp range improvment on the ship, either by actually tiering it or saving every drive component to do research.
that's way out of line for any other event ship. Franklin, Vi'Dar, or Stella
