The event went live before event reset so ours got cracked . Our server has few high ops players. We'll a clocked ship became visible in the last minute so a lvl 50 wiped us out. I have no issue with that but the game mechanic is not balanced.

This Starbase Assault event has been rushed too much and doesn't work. A pay to win SMS event where there are so many glitches. Come on Scopely - I'd rather you'd taken an extra month to work out the right way to do this.

Running this with a Prospector event is just wrong. Smaller Alliances are trying to make a go at the leaderboard and Whales get to come in before event reset and wipe out all you mined overnight, and pretty much stop you from competing for the next 2 days.

We undeployed our base the minute we saw the event was put up early. If your alliance is not full of teenagers with 24/7 availability, it's a freaking nightmare. Not to mention those who will try to engage at late hours. Who the freak wants to get up and defend at 2:00 a.m. and most of our team are working right now like most adults. Then there's the metric of losing resources based on how much damage your base receives even if you're successful? Wtf?

Lookee lookee, Another Recruitment just started. It says 5 days till it ends. I bet it will not end in 5 days. One they will extend it one more day like the last time. Assault Champion ALB - 25 places on the leaderboard, only 3 alliances on our server have scored.

Assault Champion SLB - 50 places on each leaderboard bracket, only 14 players listed in my bracket.

So, I figured out that only your first vault on Starbase actually works, the amount we had left after being assaulted is exactly equal to protection from ONLY Vault A. Vault B = worthless.

On a different note, for the last 3 days there was an event store item for directives. Expensive, but valuable. People debated whether to spend the ketracel for it. It was removed today, and replaced by a DIFFERENT expensive but valuable item, this time for PvP. We had no idea this second item was coming, and so couldn't factor that into our decision-making over the directives package. Adding new layers to the starbase that leaves most un motivated to participate. Let alone care. Why is the alliance base that I can't do anything with actively ( besides module locked research ) under attack? So whale alliances can farm more stuff to build up the base that basically does nothing for the average rank and file alliance member... The whole concept of the alliance starbase is one huge pile! And slb now stands for server leaderboard ? How out of touch is this development team ?
And then I see that they will be adding pvp point on to the scoring? What's the point !! The same end game is achieved.
No I didn't proof read, and yes I'm ranting. Constructive critique, do better there are people way to deep into spending for this to be what they get! As a very low spender I'm used to getting the cold probe deep in my fluidic space . It would be nice to see a better roi in both cash and grind.
We all know from playing that there are clear tiers/brackets in game and those should be where we compete or just get rid of em all and let me drain those lil 15s

Imo it broke for good with the new officers meta. Before you had a chance of out crewing someone who was bigger/spends more. The new meta takes all crew knowledge and flushes it. Easy button for people who would rather spend then learn and a clear IDGAF to ftp.

Doesn't seem many have seen a 19 round battle in an Assualt. Asb firing pattern for the big gun is round 1,7,13,19 etc. Moral Victory we won,still lost Colidal and plasma down to 7m pc though so FELT like a defeat.Went Turtle after,probably for ever so complete waste of time.Whales spent money,wonder where a whale keeps his wallet.No pockets so assume up where the sun don't shine!😈

You know <@&509690795536941056>s, you/Scopay had a good streak so far this year. Mostly good communication to the players before releasing a feature, content that actually made sense, bug fixes/quality of live changes and adequate compensation for messing up.
„Oops, we found brackets for the assault SLB would have been a good idea, but we‘re doing this for the first time“ was definitely not your best idea though, because no, you are not. Literally any SLB in the game has had brackets for a very long time, so this is a sad conclusion to an otherwise not bad year.
Just go back to „sorry, we messed up“ and sending out some compensation chest please, instead of desperately trying to find something shady you can blame someones mistake on.
We all make mistakes, we all can forgive mistakes.
That you are going back to taking your players for fools is harder to understand - please dont start this on us again

<@&509690795536941056> - Yesterday the SB-assault was launched. We were ready for some good fun, unfortunately this ended in a deception for various reasons
First of all - We were attack but non of us got a notification. Therefor we were not able to defend ourselves and were robbed of valuable resources. We made a helpdesk call for this, demanding back our resources because of this bug.
Second - The directives are pay to play only. This goes against what Scopely always claims that this game is free to play as well.
Third - The assault only registered in the battlelog of a few players
Fourth - The rss loss registered after a long delay or restart of the game in the screens

@Scopely fix these problems and compensate for a poorly designed and unfair feature.
On behalf of our alliance we are asking back the rss that have been robbed from us by Scopely.

An alliance can hit once, take almost everything and undeploy immediately again to hide. An alliance won’t need to mine all at now because of this and how ineffective the defense and PC were. The cloaking module was also useless as it only uncloaked one random ship. Sure we can’t upgrade modules, but it’s easy to deploy just for a few minutes randomly to start them. Was this your intention?

Why did you not publish ANYTHING beforehand on the game mechanics of this “feature”? There were tutorials leading up to when TC was launched. In the 3 years I have been playing, this is by far the worst thing you have ever added to the game. Our team has plenty to last awhile, but smaller teams have nothing with almost no chance to get it back now. They have to hide and mine. Players were left unprepared feeling their way thru the dark.

The assault mechanic has to be one of, if not the. worst mechanic added to the game, What it ends up being is that only the biggest alliance can have plasma. All others have to either leave thier starbases undeployed so they don't mine any plasma or be subjest to what plasma they have being stolen by the biggest aliance with nothing they can do about it. The starbase research tree is a fine tree, sad that now only the biggest alliance can advance it.

Either by accident or design the lowest pwr ship of 4 gets destroyed by a 1 BIl+ shot in round 1 without firing itself.No shot=No Damage=No points.Look in the battlelog and bet your 2 friend's were lowest pwr ships. If your alliance is not big enough to beat ASB by end of round 6 the next smallest get the big gun start of round 7. Then 3rd round 13.If 4th and largest ain't killed it by round 19 the ASB wins. But not to worry Alliance still gets opc plasma win or loose!

That's going to be really hard on the assault event making it near impossible for people to get the rewards. Especially when the smallest player dies and doesn't get anything. Scopely really didn't think this alb through and it's sad that they release such crappy garbage with no real way for individual people to complete it. Even points for starting would be better than nothing. But only giving points for damage dealt and killing the smallest ship immediately is just poor design

Ok let me explain how Starbase assaults are doodoo facepalm through multiple points:

  1. 4 Slots to attack. What?!
  2. Lowest power ship gets no hits off so no points (3 players score for SMS/SLB/ALB). So only 3 slots really. Boo!
  3. Starbase must be deployed and put at risk to make an assault. aka everyone who bought packs is sitting without ability to attack now. LOL!
  4. Higher level alliances now can't progress the Starbase because everyone is low on active plasma for the higher level station parts, and can't mine without being attacked right away. Smart!
  5. Less than 1/10th of the alliance has scored in ALB and will be getting rewards so far. Yayy!
  6. Only low level alliances are even mining/deployed now so no targets to even raid plasma or enough damage points for an assault. Haha.
  7. All the associated Primes and assault research as well mandates packs bought was for NOTHING. Waste of MONEY and a lot of whales are mad. Good job!
  8. Which person is responsible for GAME THEORY in this game? Ridiculous.

I bought a mandates pack and did assault research as well (including prime) on the 6 assaults i ran, I only got a hit in on 2 of them. And thats because I starred in lower level ships. So 4 mandate sets wasted entirely with no points.

My alliance "whale alliance" isn't having any trouble competing in the event. The trouble is the scoring and trying to get up to 91 people points for an event when everyone else hides. Or when the smallest ship goes boom right away.

Maybe that is good for smaller alliances, but it feels disincentivizing for bigger alliances. If you compare it a station hit/raid, You lose a station raid you get nothing but a repair bill. It's not like you get some measure of their rss based on damage done. That's why you have to hit several times to crack it, or get someone bigger to beat the defenses and then you get to raid. Why is this mechanic different in the pay out? If someone wants to argue because Assault directives are limited, well you have easily attainable game mechanics that will give them to each member of your alliance that plays daily...they aren't that limited.

If you feel it's not a fundamental flaw with Assaults, to award plasma for a failed assault, fine. However, I would argue that it is a flaw for all the plasma to be on the line. You win, sure, take everything down to the vaults (if vaults are actually working). You lose, maybe only 10% of the plasma was available and you get a percentage of that based on hull damage done. Maybe it's a 25% pool available if you lose. But it shouldn't be all the plasma. Otherwise, my incentive is to keep my ASB as broke/close to vaults as possible so you get nothing, since I can't defense from the 3 or 4 biggest alliances taking everything anyway, win or lose.

Adding my voice to the negative feedback for Starbase Assaults.. there's no defense against big alliances, and even if we do somehow defend we still lose almost everything? This really needed more thought and dev time before going live..

It's taken a potentially exciting structure for my alliance to build together and turned it into something we can't dare deploy as we'll get smashed into the ground? 🤷‍♂️

Asb assults have no place in this game and it needs to be turned off.
I was ok with the Starbase feature originally. Yes it more stuff to do, more stuff to refine and click, more currency (enough already) but the research tree was nice. And it gave leadership another duty that perhaps an eager player would be good to fill.
But to built up something just to have it destroyed/depleted and no way to defend it is just wrong. I don't know about you but I don't move to Florida or middle America just so my home get wiped off the earth every month or so.
I dare say ASB assults are worse than the Treasury banner. @pseudo rune please just tell Scopley to turn this nonsense off so we can go back to enjoying our game.

@hexed kettle you need the plasma to advance your research tree. As your asb gets bigger it needs more, just like your base and ships. Being drained can set you back days to weeks. It's not a feature that is sustainable.
