Why can I not get a single response to this question?

Why was Ops 61+ compensated 3 sets of Section 31 Solo Ciphers for having 0 of them in their Bulwark Battlepass F2P track, but G5 and below received no ciphers at all despite only having 1 set in theirs? (At the very end no less!)

Shouldn't the rest of us (G5 and below) have also been compensated at least 2 more sets of Ciphers to ensure all eligible players had a full set of 3? Even that compensation is a step down from the 4 sets of Section 31 Solo Ciphers everyone normally gets in the Bulwark Battlepass.

I realize things are on fire because of the AT, and rightfully so, but this isn't fair to G5 and below, especially the ones who just Ops'd up and were told they'd get the chance to pick up Section 31 Solo Ciphers in the Bulwark Battlepass to help them get started on Xindi rares and do AT.

Which I just now realized brings up another important question: were the Section 31 Solo Ciphers removed intentionally from the Bulwark Battlepass so that people had less sources for the currency to buy Xindi Rare madas from Section 31, who's currency, in turn, could be used to open chests and thereby easily complete the Temporal Disruptor 10k task for AT?

It seems like some of the people in charge at Scopely think of the players as lemons that can be squeezed a little more. That way, you don’t even need comeback events. No one will come back to the game. The monetization is already terrible. And now they’re trying to squeeze even more money out of us—their greed knows no bounds. Sure, we would have complained about more catering to whales, but at least AT would have still been doable. But with limiting rerolls to 8? Literally pointless. I'm sitting on 1 task completed rn, because the current tasks are just sitting there, all p2p stupidity. And they're not gonna change, cause my alliance is all out of rerolls. How does Scopely not realize that AT is unplayable without rerolls? Are y'all really that out of touch with how your game works?

So let's see. In the recent updates, scopely has

  • taken away the choice tokens for resources for the battle pass.
  • taken away the choice for officer depot tokens
  • reduced the amount of broken desealing rods you get free per month and lied about it not decreasing
  • made alliance tournaments worse for free players and even paid players
  • released G5 scrapping but made it almost useless
  • broken things that weren't broken like Battle pass events
  • nerfed an officer because people were using it in a way they didn't think of
  • multiple instances of extra maintenance
  • increased server lag

Anything else I missed?

I think at this point there is nothing they can do to fix it. The p2p system that this game started with just isnt feasible today. i shouldn't be able to spend $100 and get ONE ship part completed. the cost they associate things with is so outta whack

The sad thing is, I've been hard-core pushing for G7 for the last year plus, and was really excited to get there. I currently have Ops 68s cooking. But now? I'm just super bummed. This game has always been my happy place, and it sucks to not even want to open it to finish my dailies for tonight.

I dont understand the thought process, help me too. You take away the tokens for individual crew after you took away the transporter shard crew. So that was not enough you make it next to impossible for any kind of FTP or like myself a decent spender to kill one Orion VGER with a lvl 11 g6 at 60m power. And this followed you making these armadas for Borg that take 3 ship types to destroy but now we can't get the right crews because .... well you took that away. Do you people even understand Star Trek? I would ask if you play the game but its obvious you don't and that is a shame. Star Trek has been around a longtime and is a generational program. It’s so ironic. The new version of STFC.pro lets you look at AT scores of alliances and players. I browsed the top 10 master league alliances. Low participation scores and only a handful of players with more than 30k points for first day of tasks. I saw one person with 50k (so, 2 20k tasks). No one else with more than one. Many, many whales with 30k or less.

The worst part is, gamers are a really generous bunch. especially when they feel they have gotten value out of a game and especially when they feel the value they've received is more than the value they've paid. Ive seen it in so many games, games like Dota 2 comes to mind (incidentally its them you have to thank [or blame] for the concept of a "battlepass" because they came up with the idea for their Internationals tournaments, broke records every year btw). People support games that support them.

All Scopely has to do is be generous with their players and they will reciprocate in kind. But to do that they need to stop seeing every item given as a missed opportunity to charge for it, stop seeing events as another opportunity to bilk players, stop seeing every. aspect. of. this. game as another chance to squeeze in monetization.

There is nothing that will snap a wallet shut quicker than feeling like you are being nickel and dimed at every turn. It feels creepy, it feels gross, it feels predatory. And that applies every where in life.

Who wants to go to a dealership to buy a car and in the line items see they charged you 4x 50¢ for valve stem covers on your tires? That would fill you with outrage. You'd leave the dealership based on principle alone.

The worst part is I think Scopely is so out of touch with their player base, and the realities of the economy they inhabit, that they can't see that they are already charging $99 for SOME PIXELS. That was already a HUGE ask. Like, think about that. It's an insane ask.

Like, hello? None of this is real. None of this EXISTS. We are already paying a PREMIUM to play this game, as it is. You want MORE? That isnt ENOUGH??

Taking away choice tokens stalled my game progress. Scopley switching it up for under 70 players was a horrible move game wise. I refuse to spend money now on a game that doesnt value its player base. If they had continued to value their players they wouldn't have made the changes to the game. But because their greedy and do not value their players, they took away all value from the game. I thought it was bad with choice rewards and the officer depot tokens... this verson of AT just shows how greedy they actually are.

You made the payouts crap by allowing the pay to play 10k tasks payout over 3,000 store credits and the free-to-play 10k tasks like doing armadas pay out way less along with no rerolls. I just did two 10K Armada tasks and got a grand total of 1675 in store credits which is not worth the time it took me to do those armadas.

So along with also not purchasing the battle passes anymore because of your change and removing the choice rewards that allow me to actually get the titanium that I need to progress, I'm done with alliance tournaments and with spending money on this game....along with probably spending less time playing this game going forward now.

And I know that this isn't your fault this is Management's fault but this game is going downhill really quick and I'm sorry that you guys get the brunt of it as community managers.

This game was fun when it was created by Scopely, started to fall apart when $copely took over, and now that it's being run by what I'm calling Scamley, it's heading quickly towards time to archive or straight find a new game to play.

Master's League in Alliance Tournament is already hard to acheive, let alone maintain. With the new AT changes, Scopely has moved the more popular items behind tokens called "Legendary Alliance Tournament credits".

But now, earning Master's League status isn't good enough anymore because you need these new credits to buy items. Why the change? Why the need to put items behind these new credits?

What are players already in Master's League getting in return for this change? Why is access to these items now being restricted and made so much harder to obtain in the AT store? What is the rationale behind this?

When I said after the first few days there had been worse arcs. I may have been wrong. Scopley have excelled themselves with these changes, constant bugs and nerfing anything that has positives for players.

On top of the AT omnishambles, the VGer Orion’s damage task still doesn’t work for one level down.

The easiest way to fix the Orion issue would be to just scrap them and reuse the Gorn/Hurak/Silents on those days instead.

So this month in terms of decisions that have been taken to make the game worse for low/no spend players:

  • The free main battlepass has been gutted of any relevance, which will directly impact progression, the new building and officers have been completely removed
  • The elite main battlepass has been stripped of value and put into the new mythic tier
  • Mythic tier value has very little improved value over the old elite version
  • Removed choice tokens so no longer can choose what you need to continue your progression
  • Depot tokens being removed (again limiting choice and putting them in a lottery style group so you will never get what you want)
  • Wave battlepass has been gutted of wave starts so you cant progress that.
  • The new content which is directly tied to the new building is fairly difficult and as progression has been removed from the free battlepass there is very little movement

Tournaments

  • The change to refresh tokens directly impacts both the existing and new tasks in a profound way and will end up meaning there will be no progression being able to be made through this store. (This alone would have probably broken tournaments long term.
  • Increased the pool of 10k tasks with paid only new ones, further limiting the event.
  • Introduced new tasks (which are of course paid only) but require you to spend more money completing the tasks than you would have to spend if you just bought the new additions to the store directly! What is the point?

And all of this sits ontop of the broken game, stability is at an all time low, and nothing has been fixed for the past 5 months.

I understand companies are here to generate profit but esp after apologies and their announcement about committing to make things better, same tech issues persist, new issues constantly being added, nothing gets really fixed, selling broken things, yet they think they are in a position to focus on full on greed. Seems no appreciation, respect for their customers’ time. Wasted so much time tribbleshooting on the same rubbish that will never get fixed, only to waste my time. Maybe we should view this arc as another massive QoL boost. Vger.. can ignore. Academy.. can ignore. Outposts.. do they work yet?.. etc etc.. So now AT.. can ignore. And added benefit, save £20 a month. All wins 🤣.
Of course the net result, many simply cannot be bothered anymore. When you start resenting every tap and click.. when you don't even read, let alone attempt, some tasks.. not many options left to players.

Scopely don't even seem to realise the wider reputational damage. How many leavers will ever play or recommend another Scopely game??. So out of touch, so lacking in imagination time and time again.

  1. heavy spenders will have bought them anyway
  2. Medium spenders will realise its cheaper to buy them direct from the store than do the tasks

Here's the thing with AT. Y'all could have literally just added the new bigger p2p tasks and currency, and kept everything else the same, and it would have been perfectly ok. Sure, we would have complained about more catering to whales, but at least AT would have still been doable. But with limiting rerolls to 8? Literally pointless. I'm sitting on 1 task completed rn, because the current tasks are just sitting there, all p2p stupidity. And they're not gonna change, cause my alliance is all out of rerolls. How does Scopely not realize that AT is unplayable without rerolls? Are y'all really that out of touch with how your game works?

And that is the best attitude. THere is so much to spend on now I cant decide what is good value. Spent some on this latest feature, but needed to buy 2 packs to get close - and it just wasnt worth it. With the changes to AT they are pushing harder for multi packs instead of being happy with one so it is clearly just the trend, and they have just made it easier for me to choose not to spend, despite my impulsive urge to.
