I wouldn’t be excited about it at all. The reason they’ve delayed or canceled it so far was the fact they are mad players found scrapping to be better than packs for helping upgrade ships in g4 to g5. They literally said they didn’t go forward with it because they couldn’t find a way to make it not rewarding without setting feedback on fire.

Not the players problem that they do researches, favors, and upgrade artifacts that improve efficiencies when they give them to us. Maybe they should think about stopping with overly bloated power creep and cost creep and then offer solutions to it

The only answer is to not worry about g5 scrapping and adjust your gameplay to never include it. This game has always been about patience. Every now and then Scopley speeds it up without realizing it. Once they cut off that tap, players freak.

Just take the surges when they come that helps you, and ride out the storm in between.

People have pointed out long ago the biggest problem the game deals with in regards to these types of issues is the ever increasing inventory and the fact the server and client communications checks way too many values constantly (i.e. all of inventory when one value changes).

This is why we have asked for years for (1) LESS CURRENCIES WITH ARCS. Why give use 19 currencies when two would work? And (2) a way to dispose of useless, unredeemable things, or things like old point counters for event series that predated arc content passes.

However because Scopley is Scopley and cant think ahead.

You hyped Outposts like they were going to revolutionize gameplay. Instead, they arrived like Wesley Crusher with a corrupted save file.

Now you proudly announce Outposts will be available “all the time.” Cool. People weren’t complaining that Outposts weren’t available enough. They were complaining because they actively do not work unless the server hamster is having a good day.

You’ve basically changed “barely functional event” into “barely functional always.” Bold choice.

CANCELLING FEATURES

You say you're “pausing unannounced features.” Translation: “We had nothing ready and now we’re pretending that was intentional.”

Nobody is crying over canceled mystery features. Players just want the basics fixed — like mines, lag, UI freezes, ships ignoring commands, and events that don’t require a crystal ball to score.

G7 LAUNCH

You talk about G7 like it's a triumph. Meanwhile, mining in the Veil still looks like a wildlife documentary about endangered nodes disappearing from existence.

Auto-recall looping? Fixed "mostly." Sure. Tell that to the ships that recall faster than a Ferengi smelling a tax audit.

Huge galaxy, great visuals, beautiful systems — all overshadowed because the gameplay is held together with wishes and duct tape.

EVENT REWARDS & QA

You admit events are underwhelming, confusing, and poorly tuned. Then you proudly announce you've "expanded QA."

Fantastic. So events will now be tested before they go live? Revolutionary.

Meanwhile you still hand out rewards like it's rationing day, and every event feels like it was designed during a power outage.

TECHNICAL EXPLANATION

Ah yes, the three-page novella about the client’s networking queue. Nothing inspires confidence like a confession that crucial systems haven't been touched since the game launched in the late Jurassic.

Finding out the client is overwhelmed by updates isn't a “breakthrough.” That’s something players experience EVERY TIME their ship stutters in place like it's buffering real life.

MID-OPS CONTENT

You keep using the phrase “Mid-Ops.” Like it means something deep and spiritual.

Players don’t want lore depth or 17 layers of subtext. They want:

• Reasonable rewards
• Repair costs that don’t require a payday loan
• Content that doesn’t look like last month’s content wearing a fake moustache

But sure, keep calling it “evolving the mid-grade experience.”

PLAYER FEEDBACK

Love this part: “Players can’t give accurate feedback early in the arc.”

Oh no, we understood everything perfectly. It just wasn’t good.

Surveys aren’t broken because they come too early. They’re broken because you’re not listening. Talking to yourself does not count as data collection.

ANNIVERSARY

Nothing warms the heart like hearing the game is 7 years old, right before receiving celebratory cosmetics while the actual game systems are on fire.

It’s like giving someone a birthday hat while their house is collapsing.

Nice frames though. Really sets the tone while ships auto-recall themselves into oblivion.

FINAL THOUGHTS

This entire “State of the Game” reads less like an update and more like a diary entry from someone trying to convince themselves everything is fine.

Players don’t need 15 paragraphs of corporate poetry. They need systems that work, events that function, and communication with actual players — not mirror reflections and yes-men.

Until then? Spare the wall of text. Put the effort into the game, not into explaining why it’s still broken.
