Scopley took away our ability to plan and strategize the tasks with these changes. In a game that is advertised as a "strategy" game. Yet it seems more and more often that once the players figure out a good strategy for this game, Scopley punishes us by changing things and remove said strategies.

It looks like some tournament tasks were adjusted to account for inflation over time, that we got used to being obtainable ftp….not ideal but ok…understandable, we pivot back to how we played it originally when it first released.

Where my issue lies is that this change should have probably been more gradual, instead you ripped the bandaid off.

What’s worse is that people prep for the entire month for tournaments, to just change them throws an entire month of getting our ducks in a row to do well for it down the drain. It’s very discouraging to say the least and many are upset. I know others feel like they’ve been thrown under the bus.

The changes should have been announced and transparent at the end of the last tournament at the very minimum. (This would also be a very good idea to gather player feedback before it’s taken live and becomes a 💩 show )

When I say “you” I refer to those in the appropriate departments, not you guys, appreciate your work 🍻

Yup. This is why every server has that cadre of players who absolutely will not upgrade in ops no matter how badly Scopely tries to make them. There’s people who will be forever ops 49 or under just because it keeps them out of the way of these kinds of balances and readjustments.

Scopely says they care about their player base. Meanwhile Scopely's actions continue to drive more and more players out the door.

As always, Scopely live ops feels that making things plannable, overtaken by patience, or even a modicum of strategy is not acceptable.

You either buy a pack or you don’t play. This is their logic.

They can release the best arc ever, say it’s great new content, but if you as an individual aren’t willing to drop $300 at minimum in the month, you don’t actually get to enjoy it until well after it’s become yet another discarded and forgotten mechanic with no actual end-of-loop awareness built into it.

From what I see other tasks like the syndicate exp also went up massively in requirements. Connor seemingly hoping the playerbase will forget about the state of the game video isn't exactly raising my opinion of scopely as a firm either since it smacks of the typical lack of communication, transparancy and accountability. Between the state of the game video being delayed for 2 weeks and only 1 arc left this year I'm also very curious if we'll see another mention of the https://startrekfleetcommand.com/news/star-trek-fleet-command-2025-roadmap/ as the state of the game video would be quite the ideal time for it. I'll note several of those items have only been partially or not at all implemented, to name a few:

• Enhanced galaxy display: Base locations still aren't visible
• G6 freebooters: Still missing while that should be a very easy thing to do
• Public armadas: Still not the case

Other promised changes include things as:

• Independent archive expansion: Some small additions were made but by and large it seems to be ignored despite vastly more additions being promised
• G5 scrapping

My thoughts about this game recently. These are my opinions you can agree or not it makes no difference to me. For three months you have put out nothing but PVP officers when for me and most of my alliance we spend only approx. 1% of gameplay on PVP. Then you change the amount of multiphisics to do alliance tournament by 3X. You are out of touch with players. So I am recommending to my alliance tournament no longer purchase anything. And to boycott AT. The rewards are minimal at best. And as I have spent thousands on this game I hope you all like spam on toast for Xmas dinner

The system itself is the problem. Alliance Tournaments is essentially an alliance participation based system for Catch up on old items. There should be no such thing as cost inflation etc. when its used to acquire 2-3 year old items. Every month that passes the items get older and older. So their value frankly gets less and less. If they want to turn Alliance Tournaments into an event where spending is higher then they need to redesign Alliance Tournaments to no longer be a catch up mechanic. It need's to be offering items from the last 6 months at most not 3+ years

@queen jolt For me the Alliance Tournament has been a missed opportunity by the designers. It should be about alliance members working together for shared rewards, not individuals doing solo activities.

I’d suggest making it more like the Boldly Go events, but with alliance wide tasks.

For example: mine x amount of gas/ore/crystal/transogen // give x amount of helps // donate x points to the alliance // beat x waves of wave defence // beat formation armadas // complete x away teams.

With multiple milestones to reward the effort (not just one total to reach).

Make it about playing the game (not paying the game) - change “acquire materials” to be “collect materials” - i.e. reward strategic play and encourage engagement with the different mechanics within the game.

Give the credits for each task to the players who contributed to reward engagement. This will also help the engage the lower level players who currently feel that their (low) point scoring doesn’t help much, compared to the g6/7 point scoring.

Use the tasks to encourage engagement with new features.

so dont think I have had this before, Solo Wave Def, call third ship in, screen locks up, restart the game, wave def is triggered, the system is marked.. no ships are in the system and when you try and join it tells you that the maximum number of players are already present.. go in to the system and it warns me I have no ships there LOL

The only reason the squall is better for epic is its own ability. But the other 3 is another game all together

The number in ship stats below the warp speed and such is misleading. Don’t focus on that so much. Look at the database for its mining laser component

The only way they can really control a specialty ship is via its ship ability’s. They are far more impactful than research. That’s why the squall will always be better at epic than any other miner

Is the wave fix "We've just rolled out a new client update aimed at improving freezing issues during Wave Defense." for the "getting booted out and can't rejoin" issue with waves, or a different issue? I don't think I've seen it freezing.
