The rewards of the event are about 6k whatever those are. A Ransom shard costs 4k. And the higher position in the Ferengi pass event would have broken open the next rung today, which would be enough for at least 2 more shards.

Instead, the emergency field rations will get me a not noticeable amount of rep or about 14 of each uncommon mat. Literally nothing.

investing in the horizon is terrible, you will want to invest into a g3 faction miner instead because at the higher tiers it will be able to mine g4 token space which may or may not be opc protected depending on your server roe and mining speed is infinitely faster. so you can start off hot into mining if thats your thing

If I remember correctly, I could max a couple Horizons before I could max a faction miner at that level. The faction miners were really expensive.

So yes, max faction miners are better than max horizons, but you could get to mining earlier with multiple horizons before you got a faction miner high enough to be really useful.

Hey @heady moon the new officer and other additions to Allaince tournaments are nice. Has there been any thought to sliders for those? One pain point many have is the store jumps alot or you have to exit the store and reenter for the rewards to repopulate. Sliders would cut down on the negative feelings
