If it's a matter of just finishing the event, you can survive much longer in there as you likely have enough base hazard resistance for that...

Even at ops 66, I’m struggling with the level 64 runners. The hostiles are fine and barely do any damage but with the chasers being slower to spawn, I’m lucky if I get 3 per hull because of the hazards. That’s with that research at max, 40%. In this screenshot, the damaged hull was what I lost whilst I was waiting for the first runner to fly past the system boundary to reach me 🙈

Yep, they’re slower. I’ve noticed that it’s the time taken for the hostile to decide to chase you. They seem to move at the same speed but it’s taking a while for them to spawn in the first place. I’m sure it used to be pretty quick but it feels like it’s taking a lot longer for them to show up

There is no clear path for the second arc running for new officers (they haven’t even gone on sale). its a dangerous precedent for a game that will be dead soon unless someone with some common sense takes over event planning. i haven’t spent any resources in over a month because of the changes to recruit events and its looking highly likely that I never will.

In general, people over-prep for grade shifts. Just have a ship path for the next grade and a plan in place to get them. The game's so much easier than before, most could be pushing ops so much faster. I'd be building out voyBDA officers from the depot stores to max as well as working on powerful staples like Gwen/Hugh.

With the research and missions done my G4 epics can easily get to the 56 new systems.

Maxing a g4 epic at ops 50 is doable but not easily for most FTP so it will come down to the individual player and how prepped they are as there's no 1 way fits all scenario, but the most important thing is to be having fun at your level.

Get the combat voyBDAs and you're solid. The rev loop is essential and you should be working on it already. It provides a ton of rss/mats. And the ship you get at the end is pretty useful. It won't be a main warship, but still has lots of cargo and range.
