I will warn you that STFC is a very long term game and unless you're paying an extremely grindy game that uses a FOMO/frustration engine to encourage impulse spending

For the first you need to do uncommon armadas, the other you get from converting armada credits
Rule of thumb as a lower ops player: Launch as high as you can reach (with the help of your alliance) after checking what they can beat. The starter of an armada gets a "start chest" with loot and for lower operation level that will be far more loot than what you get from launching your own level armadas

It’s counterproductive. If you wait to tier up a ship, you are missing out on the bigger pulls from that ship, including its parts.
For instance. If someone with a t1 rev waited and pulled t1 parts every day and another constantly upgraded at every chance. The one who waited and spent it all at once will never be the same tier as the one who stayed on top of it.

The warp core upgrade is ops locked and the warp range research is ops gated.
Id have to buy the Slipstream to get more range atm.
