so people join armadas at like 30 seconds, stop for one, then hit hostiles & time the return to circle with under 10 sec so you're always protected in the circle

no more "attack at 12 seconds to block them even if you can't kill them"

Save your Q trial bells, rare dominion & borg armada pull, all enterprise nx-01 tokens (the ones that give guaranteed uc/rare/epic ex-borg credits) for next time
You’ll run out during the tournament but can get a few 10k tasks for free with good credit payout
Otherwise stick to the 5k fkr grind tasks mostly
Ask alliance mates to reroll for you if you run out
It’s tedious and sometimes you’ll have to pick up a task you didn’t want for a couple extra points
Mechanics aren’t great but there are definitely ways to participate and do quite well

yeah, there certainly are a few guys in every alliance who got loads of reroll tokens, but most likely they only got them because they were lucky and didnt spend em for others

even worse, if they sniped good tasks from your own rerolls

and worst part about it, without the invention of chronos and his latest tournament tab you wouldnt even be able to know if certain tasks are locked. so you could be rerolling like a madman and never get it, just because someone else has it and doesnt finish it in time

so, bottom line... no matter your preperations, the basic design of it is deeply flawed, rewards antisocial actions and relys heavily on luck or spending.

I do find that the more 10k tasks you save up for, the more rerolls you can do.
Sometimes I heavily go into rerolling and leave the tasks I have no loot for anymore but are doable for my alliance mates and reroll only the impossible/paid ones

I also know Scopely won’t touch the feature unless it’s to nerf some tasks. Feature was released so now it gets ignored, like all the others

DTI + max terran favor + daily claim is 143500, add another ~40k from various sources (mirror, artifact, mantis, daily chest) and you d stilll be short 40k. But since the daily syndicate claim counts double (84k instead of 42k) it is doable without the odd event rewrds (better be save and only do it when you get event rewards or you might suddenly be short lol )

Having Paris below deck would make a big difference assuming you’re using Cadet Leforge, Cadet Crusher and Chen. That’s strong with the baby JF ship ability boosting that damaging reduction, but I struggled with mitigation once I was hitting hostile near level 30. Paris below deck would fix that now.

A really interesting thought is what the next “best” PvP game mechanic will be, we had the Strike Teams which basically wiped out all crews before them (this was the start of the new strategy), then ISO damage was brought in for new dominant PvP crew sets to buy, and now Apex Barrier Crews. I think the next new enforced meta will be reduced/delayed shots crew

Your biggest issue is player sentiment. You need players to participate to make arenas a success. Every time that you run the event knowing that the experience will be worse you lose a bunch more players. Design your solution, pause arenas if needed. But this death by 1000 cuts is not helping.

+-4 is no better than +-9. The problem was never the spread on your side. The problem is the other team choosing a favourable spread. Clearly the team on the right did that. Average power/ops level etc is also not a valid match method. Since power in stfc raises exponentially not linearly.

Rank should be a rank and should be used for matchmaking purposes, not this weird amalgam that combines your rank in arena with Terran store rewards, which has a reputation system but needs credits from chests that rewards you based on rank and not the reputation, and some things there are also locked behind rank requirement and not terran reputation to make it even more confusing.
Now it is impossible for Scopely to reset rank as people would loose access to rewards in Terran faction store, and if rank should be used for matchmaking then any time a huge change is implemented - like different matching algorithm, capping impulse speed or changing groups from +-7 lvl to +-4 lvls, there would have to be a rank reset as new rules are in place, so people should be ranked based on the new rules. In ideal place after technical issues are solved there would also be a reset every 3 months with a new season, that brings some new rules to arena, new bunch of rewards and winners of previous season would get some recognition in blog post, unique winner avatar, or name a planet after them.. something cool that cannot be obtained otherwise and will keep people engaged every season unlike now where you reach 64k rank and.. nothing

I know people that are stopping playing as they are now very likely to drop ranks due to unfair match ups. One way to encourage more to play is make it so you can only go forward in rank and not backwards, then even if you lose you can say you had some fun, chalk it up and move on.

You might say rank does not matter but when you are on the verge of that extra prem dust pull, you really dont want to lose it

I have about 4 more weeks of max pulls if I stopped playing. I am Plat III but found the last run very frustrating as ops63 and ended up losing points because I kept getting paired with ops 68-70s as an ops63 playing with an ops60 and 57.

I gave it a go last time. Lag was terrible, cubes were jumping everywhere, battles were not connecting and battles were starting from ships miles away.

If I got paired up with same generation ships (i.e. G5 epic/G6 uncommon) I won the matches. When I got matched against ops 68-70s I lost. I ended up losing about 10 and winning about 4.

As all that was playing was ops 68-70s gaming teh system with a wide spread. So you either find a team to do that yourself, or you lose
