i can also tell you with 100% certainty that unqualified commentary from users has actually caused software testing quality to go down. my organization used to have one of the best and most thorough software testing organizations of any corporation (we're a fortune 100).

the C suite canned the team because no matter how good they were we'd still get hammered for not being able to do the literally mathematically impossible.

There are plenty of examples of them ($copley devs) knowing WHAT the problem is and not doing anything to fix it .... example : .... the Borg Cube positioning problems .... a dev stated on a public podcast that it stems from the "cube-like" graphic in system view used instead of the arrow/triangle graphic .... yet here we sit still with that "cube-like" graphic and the logical conclusion that by merely changing that to be like every other ship graphic , that it could quite possibly fix the situation.

another fun bug that i've experienced was we had a "Certified solution" where hardware vendors (Dell, HP, etc) would sell our product pre-installed on their software solution. one vendor that will remain nameless (and was not named above) had customers consistently experiencing issues and we were having the worst time figuring it out.

until one day i was doing literal packetsniff level tracing on that hardware and noticed that the NICs in their hardware had a bug in their implementation of Quality of Service

I've been playing for more than a year now, and there are reasons to assume incompetence. Like since I started playing, there have never been more than 2 consecutive weeks without a new bug. Quite often when they try to patch a previous bug. And some bugs are literally years old. So yeah people will assume incompetence. But in this case, incompetence doesn't targets "only" the devs. I'm pretty sire most people here are convinced it's management/budget decisions. But incompetence still.

we don't have a quota, we just ask people to do what they can (mostly thats at least attempting to do 3 tasks a day). I very much doubt everyone who normally scores with full 10k point tasks will be able this time round. however with things like double hitting the dominion and borg epic directive acquisition tasks more reliably that'll help them out

Okay clearing the storage data of the game helped my performance issues. Things are much snapier now. Data storage went from 12GB to 820MB. Guess the latest patch sent from my tablet's storage isn't a tizzy.

from what @vapid onyx just found with testing on his device the problem with their testing most likely is "they test using clean installs"

it's hard to replicate the cruft of multiple year old user installs in any software

even if they're not doing clean installs they might not be doing their "dirty installs" in a way that reproduced the issue

It doesn’t fix it entirely but majority of the breaking issues are fixed like the claim issues of freezing and game error crashes

The battery drain is still noticeably more then before heat also increased but not as bad as pre reinstall.

The lower fps is disorientating

But it’s made it much more playable then straight after patch so definitely recommend people experiencing the problems to reinstall the game.

A work around that some players have said helped them was clearing the app data/cache on the phone itself (not in game) and uninstalling and reinstalling the game. For anyone to try either method, make sure your account is linked to a scopely ID and or you copy down your playerID in case your authentication token gets wiped and you can't get back into your account. Will make it easier for support to help you.

So you go into arenas, and because you’re docked rank for losses, you lose out. You either participate to have the credits but not the rank, or don’t participate to have the rank and not the credits.

Now we have a self fulfilling prophecy as more people stop participating to save their rank making the matches worse which makes the loss of rank more likely and prominent.

well yes. that's how the chain of blame goes. having better tier service with AWS will have fallback CDNs that ensure maximum uptime and if it's a major fault with AWS, STFC is the least of your concern as half of the internet services would be down. as an end user we arent concerned what causes this game to act up and go down in the backend, scopely is the one who we would be blaming as an entity.
