well, you can spend 100 bucks for 1 task... or you spend the 100 bucks for the thing you actually want. so spending in this alliance tournament is a sad thing because nobody guarantees you will win with that 1 task... on the other hand, if you buy your prime or the thing you want you don t need the AT at all

That's not exactly how it works if you approach it with a bit of analysis. e.g. I bought the Monthly Elite Chest pack (usually do) and used it to complete 2 10k tasks. Got enough alliance credits for about 70% of a prime. Done right, purchasing during this event is actually better than purchasing a pack in isolation

Alliance Tournaments… again DOA… no one took the feedback of making all tasks doable via ftp.

The 8-10k tasks don’t have to be easy by any means. So far found one that is doable via ftp (10k, acquire 6k uncommon exborg creds). That one requires people to save regular opps chips. That’s 24 days with t1 nx01 max chips favor, less tough higher tier ship.

If the design team took that glint of information and designed their harder tasks with that type of idea: that someone could take 0.5-1 month of saving to complete the harder task, maybe Scopely would have a defender or two. It introduces strategy into a (gasp) strategy game.

In addition, the spend store designers could definitely design tourney-task packs to sell for some of those tough-but-ftp-doable 8-10k tasks and charge $20. Imagine the sales from your middle class gamers that think they are getting value but probably could have spent less overall by getting that $100 prime because they feel they can participate.

Bruh… this doesn’t feel that hard, so why you making it so?

The trouble with incentivising competition is the other hand punishes failure.

Fine when the rewards don’t help your progression/“make you better”, but when they do… first win leads to the second win leads to the third and an unstoppable streak.
