Killing one battleship will always give you more loot than suffering with interceptors. And btw you might wanna put Nurse Chapel to below deck. Since I started to use her, every attempt with the lvl50 battleships was a guaranteed success.

That's the nature of the game. You'll almost always spend something, upgrade something, or do any number of things that a chest, event, or whatever will come along and frustrate you. They built the game around FOMO and then can't figure out why people start hoarding things.

Scopely is shifting away from giving any benefit to players that don't spend, or spend very little. It used to be that you could be entirely f2p and eventually get every prime, unlock every aspect of the game and gain all but 3 officers through the grind.

Scopely has forgotten that they have to have some benefit to the players without the need to drop hundreds to keep even the spenders playing. They need to actually have quality in order for the majority to want to spend. Without the benefits that we used to have and the quality of gameplay as an ROI they will lose players, lose spenders, and lose income.

You have two/three timelines, completely different sequences of events in play, if not more. Ships grossly outside of their power envelopes based on the TV show.
You can have a ship with a bajillion Spocks or Picards on it.

The game has always trodden the fine line of profitability keeping time on making it functional down to a bare minimum, and I’m not a huge fan of the way internally they appear to have attached specific value to events and content that means that rather than being able to focus on community sentiment in these instances it focuses on impact to bottom line when they pay out, but that has not changed. If anything, the current CM team have seen the best swing back towards understanding community sentiment and trying to influence comps and events since probably 2021.
In big picture terms, yeah, the game still feels like it’s on a bit of a decline - but if you look at the current situation with Sierra/Pauly/Hammy then I think the view is slightly more positive.
