and just to be clear, my criticism isn't aimed at the CM as I know they're just trying, this arc is just so insultingly bad I refuse to believe it isn't intentional by the arc designer. We're also just a week into the arc an how many absurd event scoring issues have we already had? I think the only positive aspect I could mention about this arc is that nothing has exploded though as people still get randomly kicked out of the MU when using rifts I'm not giving them a pass on technical isues eiher.

We are at stall tactics right now, and we know they move faster than this.

I’m not sure they do. I’ve had some slbs where they broke scoring at the start and couldn’t fix after. Happened a few times with auctions not scoring armada values. It’s possible they also just don’t have the resources to pull this data in the office

To be clear, I do appreciate your positivity and you've been helpful so I'm really not trying to be critical of you mind you :). I just have a different PoV as I feel that the absurd amount of grinds they've added this year, the tone deaf nature of multiple arcs, the even harsher push to spend,.... the game has gotten a fair bit worse for me. While what grinds I do is obviously a personal choice just the MU events alone either have absurd RL time requirements or milestone goals that make me feel the arc runner is intentionaly trying to anger people off to push sales.

Mate, the issue is events like the "Quantum 0.68 seconds" one that you can't currently see at the moment. The "event" can only be completed by giving Scopely $500+. There is no gameplay, no grinding, nothing. Simply give them your credit card details and fork over the equivalent of a decent chunk of an average person's monthly bills. Then the community manager has the brass neck to come on here and call that "gameplay" "harder difficulty".

Well, according to @fast grove it's not even enough to complete it. I don't know because I'm just never going to do that. I agree with your general point that game devs and anyone who does a days work deserves to be paid and not have to live in a cardboard box, but as you get further into this game you'll see more and more things where "gameplay" is nothing other than "give us money" and sometimes we're talking A LOT of money. The store looks reasonable until you buy your first $5 pack, then everything costs $20, then everything costs $99...

It's T4, nearly 200mil and everything that doesn't need rares spent on it at T4. It's fine, I place perfectly well in SLBs etc, but I do have to grind Gorn, which I do with a T11 Pilum at the same time, so the suggestion that for the average player double pulling everything is doable as part of ONE hour a week of "doing everything else" I find just... absolutely wild.

Just some context, some of the issues/grinds get harsher the higher ops you have and some of us here have been playing for 5-6 years. I certainly won't call your viewpoint invalid but some of us have been through this song and dance routine so often the rethoric of scopely has lost all credibility. Mods like Obsidian will try to convey feedback to devs but scopely doesn't have a great track record with caring about it. This was way way back when they opened up from lvl37 to lvl39 and added the ISS Jelly to the game. They jumped from 37 to 39 and got the Jelly to like T6.

Be warned that a lot of people in 40+ start spending 5x the amount they spent in 40- once they see that the packs give a lot more mats. It's all a lie tho. The requirements for buildings and research are just as high. If anything, once you are 40+, there are 10x more baits to spend. This is the reality of the game. Scopely has made it VERY clear that even those who buy the battlepass each month are absolutely not the target group!

the best tip we can give you is not to spend to try and keep up because you won't, unless you're on a very new server there'll be players on your server who've paid more than your house is worth unless you live in a mansion and even on newer servers it isn't unlikely the servers has people who have spent more than the cost of a good family car on the game.

This game does require daily play and in my opinion it is nearing th end of its lifecycle (I'm dubious it'll last another 18 months)

The community is good. But if at any point you feel like the game is no longer for you, stop playing immediately. This game has way too many ways to keep you playing and can easily turn toxic on your mentality. So try to meet some good people, don't involve urself in server/alliance politics, and pray you don't have those toxic whales I mentioned above 😄

Eves problem were partly. The game was super limiting if you were on your own. Less so with corps. But. Even then most of those were high security and missed out on a lot. To really play all the game. You needed to somehow find your way into one of the bigger alliances. Multibox a bit too. And don’t go near the Russians

The other part was the learning curve and how the skills worked. Same timeline as stfc research. But no speed ups. Took months and months to get anywhere.

That and. When it blows up it’s gone. For those that don’t know. Imagine you just got your d’deridex. Maxed. Someone kills it so you have to build it again from t1

Everything in ever runs on the economy. The ships you fly are all built and sold. The parts for those ships. Yep. Built and sold. The components for those parts. Built. The base materials. Mined. Extracted etc.

The ships are more specialised than in stfc. And it’s not just Bigger is better. Tiny frigate. Could in a fight with a battleship. Win. Some ships were focused on e-war. Some were miners. Some were cargo haulers. Some were stealth bombers. Some were glass cannons. Some designed to destroy stations. Some were ship shipping ships. Refinery ships. Drone ships. Carriers. Some specialised in making other ships incapable of escaping.
