Well then, scopely should consider this an epic fail... and not because f2p dislike the evnt... even players who might pay to score/advance in a SLB have no incentive to spend money on rep packs when whatever they spend pales in comparison to what a player in the mid to upper 60s might earn just from their daily rep reward (for instance, the pack available to me ar ops level 55 is $99.99 for 514.9M rep, while a player at ops level 66-67 in my same bracket might earn 9B in points from just tirning in their dailies)...

If the main goal is for scopely to make $$$, this will be an EPIC FAIL b/c I am hard pressed to imagine anyone in the 50s or even lower 60s spending any $$$ on rep packs, unless its for the purpose to advance to the next level of faction rep to satisfy some specific faction rep goal, regardless of their standing on the SLB.

As for me, aside from this being yet another example of Scopely incompetence, I am able to easily dismiss this SLB (be it grinding FKR hostiles or buying faction rep packs) and instead focus my time and attention to other parts of the game... like killing more Gorn 🤷🏽‍♂️

There's likely no $$$ be grabbing from almost anyone for this failure of a SLB... the miniscule points awarded to ops levels lower than mid 60s makes spending to "win" unattainable, while the players in upper level ops (64/65 and above) already have a weekly rep pack of at least 9B rep points they can buy, which is likely better value than whatever "special" rep pack is available to them in the store...

Only players spending on this are those who need that last little bit of rep boost to get them to their next rep level...

A few months ago at G4 I could and did compete in SLB's and while perhaps not first place I often got a decent place if I felt so inclined. Sadly since going G5 all SLB events are basically "ignore, zero chance"

Depends on the event, tbh. A g5 uncom ship completely blows every g4 out of the water. Same with g6 compared to g5. But, the ship difference won't have much factor in, say...an event focused on killing lvl60 hostiles, which even maxed g4 ships can do.

M'Benga covers the standard damage, Pelia for the isolytic, Chapel for the original material till research covers it... But it's all theory

It is necessary to tailor the brackets in a fashion so that at least everyone is fighting "with the same weapons". If there's an event where for example 5G material should compete against 6G, it's imbalanced. Same goes when a player has the option, to buy the amount of reputation I made in a year with one pack, because he's 15 levels higher than me.

Of course, bigger players have an advantage, and that's totally OK, but at least we should compete in the same ballpark

Why would you need the lower ops there? If a server has e.g. one lv 70, 9 level 65 and everyone else is below 60. Then the 70 will always win. The 65 will always take the top 10. If you now throw 200 fiftysomethings in the mix, you change absolutely NOTHING for the top 10. They are no match. All you achieve is, that 200 players can't score top 10 any more. Ever.
