You mean the officer refinery that has 3 trash officers and 1 good one? Or the parts refinery that you can only make one pull a day, with g4 parts getting replaced by g5 (later replaced by g6)? If they kept all 3 grades of parts you can refine, instead of replacing them with higher tiers, it'd be better. As it stands, spatial rip/transwarp abilities are its saving grace, and that's going to take months to even get the range high enough.

The ability is mid now that more of the details are out.
Buying the ship gets you ~60-120 officer pulls, and ~1-200d worth of regular refines worth of value vs f2p. Parts won't be good til it can produce rare realistically. You also get access to this month's events, and an easy grind during that time.

Chapel is good. Pelia is meh. Don't get me started on how useless "iso defense vs non-armada hostiles" is... SNW James has some potential, but foregoing all defense for all-out offense can backfire. SNW Mbenga is not as good as Janeway or Spike due to mitigation cap. SNW Freddie Mercury is another sad clone of Yuki but in epic form so harder to max. Also useless against Xindi.

Pelia's BDA has changed, it's iso def in both pve/pvp. I consider her to be pretty good for the pvp part.
James Kirk is niche, hard to know his value til the content requires, if ever.
Mbenga is interesting for tinkerers, could be decent, especially against harder stuff.
Sam might be interesting if we have good sourcing at higher levels.

There are "normal" events and "heroic" events where heroic events are basically "pay to complete these" which tend to give higher rewards

yes, you can only refine the material relevant to your ops level. when you ops up, you may find yourself needing a different material for your refinery. check the level range above your refinery option. it will tell you what level you need to be hunting, and subtly warn you when you might find yourself leaving that bracket!

I'll give this arc a better grade than the xindi arcs as at least it doesn't add new grinds nor does it lose points due to being detrimental to my gameplay like last arcs pvp focus. So far it doesn't seem like I'll score it high as it doesn't improve my gameplay in any way and the run up time to unlocking the ship + getting it to a useful tier seems to be too long though.

Chapel is still currently the best officer these last few arcs, I can see the argument about pelia though. I suspect the overlords don't quite get how current players have max intro officers which will offer way more capability, than the new ones since it's almost impossible to source new officers.

Gotta put ways to source newer officers else everyone will default back to their go to options.

Current best pve crew imo, janeway/doctor/ legit anything--- below deck hugh.

Chapel is what I’ll unlock, but honestly, she’s not super great. The loot bonus is less than running 5of in the side chair…the BDA bonus is competing against already released (ie stronger) iso and crit damage (which iso stacks on top of) pokécards.

If there was a reasonable path to maxing…maybe that changes…will find out in the 18 months it takes to get there, lol.

You can remove this bloatware by clicking on your player icon on the top left of the game, click on legal & help, click on "request account deletion next" and finally click on confirm. The removal process can take a day or two though due to the size of the bloatware

Chapel's left off of my list because she's well-regarded as very high value, and the probable target of the vast majority of event currency this month by players. Scopely knows this, wouldn't worry about that.

The eviscerator events are p2p, there's no question about that either. The convo is about how there's almost nothing f2p and the massive imbalance between p2p/f2p events, and I don't see it at my level.

Ship launch events have ALWAYS been p2p. This has been a thing since forever ago. And I'm not seeing the imbalance currently, either. Only one event today "requires" having Eviscerator, and that's for building/upgrading it. Every other event only gives bonus points for using it, but does not need it.

Depends a lot on player context. Because iso stacks on crit, which stacks on everything underneath….if finding a BDA slot for her means swapping out a crit damage BDA, it’s easy to get a situation where you’re netting less iso damage with her than without her.

the refinery itself does seem handy but the time it needs to get it to the right ops range seems to be half a year or longer for many people which is a bit of a bummer. If it's like the NX-01 it'll be anywhere from 3-6 months to unlock for F2P + another x months to get it to the gorn I need so it isn't multiple runs on gorn with my main ship for one iso type + runs with the evi on lower ops gorn for the other iso type 🙂

The comp chest is for “complete new missions”. Originally you couldn’t complete that without building the new ship. They changed it. However, I was up to that point before the fix. Thus the comp chest.

You use your same account. Companies (in this case, Scopely) try to get players to use their web stores bc it avoids the 30% being taken by Apple and Google for in app transactions. @turbid pivot so g5 has its issues, but a g6 uncommon is as bad or worse at grinding the g6 ships than a g5. The amount of sigma mats you get won't keep up with the repair costs. So you start needing to come out of pocket to continue with repairs. Remember envoy mining on g3 mats yeah the g6 miner is slower than that. And my g5 miners won't let me mine on sigma so I'm stuck using just the selkie. The cost for a single day speed up is 1.5 mil lat, which wouldn't be so bad in itself until you have a 30 day build

@heady moon So I appreciate the 'Alliance Ship' bug on the Kir'Shara seems to be fixed, but it seems its jsut back to the original state where the queueing bugs, skips ships, and clicking ships can cause the spinning circle and random select-deselect like you click on it and it just clears your target etc... so it's still very hard to use and screws you up a lot in Waves.
Are they still working on actually making it work well? Or at least giving us an option to Refund or at minimum disable the poison thing we bought?

At most, the longest to wait is 1 week before you'll have all the details you need. They are very tightlipped about further details. The only thing we know more is that it is f2p, and finishing the unlock will take about as long as the NX unlock.

Every decision in the game is made based on analytics. They almost certainly already have the ship bps event designed - that’s relatively easy. If they’re delaying the onset - which sure looks like a choice at this point - it’s likely because they want more telemetry on sales and (possibly) use of the new ship.

The Borg Cube bps thing reminds me of the Disco. Those who missed the arc…you’ll get your bps path when the revenues from “giving” it away project higher than whatever trickle of sales they’re getting from it.

Every question in this a game is answerable in the same way…what do we expect to generate more revenue?

In game states "Hostiles" inferring all hostiles, whereas webstore says "Q's Hostiles", inferring only effective during trials.

either the number needed needed to go way down, the drop rate on the commerce in token space needs to go way up or preferably both but with the current rate I doubt stfc will still be live by the time I could unlock it

Reducing the number made sense way back when players were bringing it up at release. These days, there's considerable differentiation between effort players and those who are skipping it. To wipe out all the effort of those high performers would feel pretty bad, especially when the alternative is easy, and just as good.

They can do more than increase juice/drop rate/efficiency. They can add a scoring hook to the FT, and allow something else to contribute toward it. Or implement a juice/commerce eater exchange.

I'm not averse to rewarding effort, the drop rate on the insignia tokens could certainly use a bump. My issue is that some players feel they'll be robbed if the milestone would be lowered while they too would finish it much faster, or even be finished already, by such an adjustment. Even with improved drop rates it still doesn't change somebody who's new to the voyager look is looking at 100 days even if they had unlimited insignia tokens which is just absurd for a training mission
