There’s so much wrong with the statements made, like, spending that extra time playing somehow is automatically a good thing, or the not so subtle inference that it should be a bad thing and you should stop playing because of the extra time demands.

... For me the struggle is overcoming my [diagnosed] OCD behavior. See in game I feel an urgency to complete all dailies, all events, all specialty hostile kills needed for refineries, all mining needed for pulls and walk away with nothing to do. So the more they add the more overwhelming it becomes. I haven't done anything in game in 3 months other than log in and pop a shield since I have over 1 year worth of 1 and 3 day shields until I finish working with my counselor on how to overcome my completionist obsession.

I'm all for rare stuff being rare, but I've gone 4 straight days, 8 refinery cycles with NO rare 5* gas or ore.... this will not drive me to break out the AMEX and start spending, in fact, it will have the opposite effect.... Seriously, I need about 3k of each to move on up and now the FRNG has been adjusted to not pay when players are close... seems about on par for the current direction of the game.

Unless you are a die-hard ship collector - and some are - dont build the Hi-jacked ships. They offer no extra performance over the faction version and are exactly the same. Need alot of Plutonium to upgrade, and ultimately the point of the lv26 faction ships are to maxx and then scrap for g4 materials. They appeared ingame before Mayflower, Lego and D3, so those that were there went and built them….

Scopy encourages this behavior to spur paying, wouldn’t be bad IF the cost of the packs wasn’t 100$ USD a pop. And if they are not that expensive for yet, buy something. Once you do prices go up. You can always park it as close as you can and warp in, when i hit the 43’s i only hit 3 for the faction dailies then hit the 40’s for the swarm ones

Just use what works best for you to complete your dailies/events. And it might not always be the ship people expect but if it works it works.

As an example, I was using monaveen with Tal crew against actians because it had the warp range to get me to the 48s/49s. People were telling me to use my pilum but the cargo bay on it was way less per run than the monaveen. And tally ops locked so doesn’t have the warp yet.

Experiment and do what works best for you based on your current ships/research etc
