Why can we not add time with shields? If I need to respond to an emergency that will take longer than an hour, I shouldn’t have to burn the time I have left to add another hour. Or going to bed, I put up an 8hr but always drop shields before I’m able to get back on. I could put up an 8 and add two 1s which would be perfect.

Bonus Refinery Suggestion: Permanent ability, but requires a catalyst for each use. Add catalysts to Loyalty chests (2 per 7 token chest/8 per 30 token chest) Additional catalyst can be given as part of events similar to how the bonus refinery is added currently.

The catalyst will allow players to use occasional extra refines on a specific material when trying to upgrade a ship or for a major base/research

Note: each catalyst would only allow 1 refine of 1 material, so player would have to choose which material was needed most, and also how much they were willing to mine for double/triple refines

Alliances can sign treaties and the rules would be appliednto all members in those alliances. OPL, not on mine, 0 node, mining, stations, etc. Also lvl gap. Rules couldnbe set for specific alliances and general.

Suggestion:
Located on the toolbar a ZZ is displayed when your ship is full on materials. It would be nice to see an indication when you’re at max protected limit. It would be a good feature since that’s when players tend to hit the most when the ship shows an unprotected amount. 🚀

How about ships cannot be attacked unless the alliance declares war against another and to declare war costs a certain amount of resources which the alliance members had given to the alliance through membership

I would really like some preset bridge crew slots. Something where you can customize which captain and bridge officers you want, and then when you need to switch out crews, you can do it by choosing a preset one that you made. Currently, we have to sift through all of our available officers, which is time consuming and obnoxious.

Although boosting the battle log from 20 to 30 slots is appreciated, the problem is that farming hostiles fills the battle log anyway. I think the real solution is to separate pve battles from pvp battles into 2 logs, each in their own tab.

Give a confirmation prompt for every even ops upgrade with a suggested ship power level - without one ship at X power you'll struggle to complete events and dailies. It'd save people that don't read here from rushing it and then getting stuck unable to do anything..

Can we correct the terrible attack ranges you have given higher level players, a level 24s base does not stand a chance against a level 34 700k Saladin even with all ships home, it’s causing a lot of players to quit bc they can’t remain shielded 24/7 and even when online. It just takes 1 hit they fill up their cargo hold and go on to the next.

@lone hearth actually someone who attacks your base when you have ships at home has NO CHANCE of making a profit on that 1 hit. It costs a lot more to repair that ship than they can hold in their cargo.

Here you go. Mine is T9 so it's a little more expensive, but not a lot more. 225k tri 28k dil + 5.5 hours of speedups.

That guy lost 20% of his hull, roughly, so 45k tri 5.6k dil + 1.1 hours of speedups is what it cost him.

If you keep your Par Shield up, he'll lose RSS on that every time, because par is virtually worthless compared to Tri and Dil.

@Panic They offered me the D3 HiJacked ship but I just got the Salidin. Needed a Battleship and wanted a Hijacked Legionary but it was not offered. Why not offer all three options to buy the Hijacked Ships instead of just one? The weird thing is Corp knew I just shelled out for the Salidin and offered me the D3 Interceptors which was no longer a need. Scopely lost $200 plus on the deal by not knowing player needs and offering options. In the end I grab just one ship, the Antares, instead of two

Not for nothing, the PvP levels are horrendous now. I, as a level 24, have no real way of competing against players 4 to 5 levels higher. Most times I have no way of defending a mining spot in a 110K North Star when some level 29 rolls up in a 400K D3, nor do I have the ability to retaliate. It all then comes down to who spends the most money to level up the quickest, and that gets real old, real quick.....

I would like to submit a special request to scopely regarding a player on my server 18. His game name is JesseJames22 located here [S:1835140406 X:742.2715 Y:-19.32875]. Jesse is is 22 year old young man who has enjoyed this game and inspired many of us from his hospital bed while fighting cancer. Jesse has recently been moved to hospice care and is no longer able to play and by doctors estimates has only a couple weeks before he leaves this world. I would humbly request some form of remembrance on his behalf as this game has created bonds and inspiration to so many in this game. Playing this game has given him joy during his fight and in these final weeks until he could not do it anymore. Please help us remember him by doing something on his behalf. I suggest many options. Place a golden permanent shield around his base. Name a system or planet on his behalf. Create a special pack that will donate 100% proceeds to cancer research. I know scopely is in the business of making money, but this is a time when Scopely can show some support for its players who love the game even half ass much as Jesse has before he leaves us

Allow players to trade 1* parts and Blueprints for 2* parts and Frequency Modulators, and to take over the task of tiering up a ship? That way the Shipyard still has some use while not building ships; opens a Drydock while a ship is tiering up, and allows us to do something with the insane amount of useless 1* parts and Blueprints we accumulate. Suggestion made by myself and player Aellywynn from server 26.

As you may know there’s one issue that hasn’t been solved until today, the amount of mining nodes doesn’t even cover 40% of the players in the server , an increase of 3* nodes must be implemented .

Here is a idea. The devs need to add more 3* ore in romulan/neutral space. There are at least 5-6 mines that have disappeared in rom space. There is no where near enough bifes to begin with and then disappearing doesn't help !

I'm currently lvl25. I cannot attack lvl20. Only lvl21 and above. But why the hell can a lvl33 attack me?? We all know that ships power grow exponentially with lvl. So <@&509691205798592532> why is the attack range smaller for me (only 4 lvl below, why not, perhaps it's better, more fair) but larger for a lvl33 (he can attack approx 10 lvl below him) ?

The harrassment is huge. Lvl 32 players can crack lvl 24 players bases in one hit with a survey ship and fly away with virtually their entire inventory of materials and never have to worry about that 10 minute shield becuase they already got everything. It should not be possible for ANY survey ship to one shot ANY base. If you're not going to make pvp levels fair, then at least quadruple the power of base defenses so that survey ships can't just saunter in. And while i'm on that note, how is it that destroyed defenses can still do damage? That needs to be fixed too.

The attack or hit chart should be 3 lvls up and 3 lvls down. I just got to 22 and I'm being waxed by lvl 30 players. But I can only hit as low as 20??? Not fair!

Request: Sync account in a way to make it cross platform. I searched on discord and didn't find this suggestion on here so sorry if it ends up being a repeat still. I'm surprised it isn't. But I'm on an iPhone so I can play on any iOS device. I would like to also be able to play on my desktop or laptop using Bluestacks until Apple allows iOS games on Mac OS (who knows when that will actually happen).

@vocal sandal the platforms dont repair that fast, it takes days. and ships are useless unless fully repaired, the same should be true of defense platforms. Your discussions have illustrated my point perfectly though, NO survey ship should be able to one shot a base regardless of what ships if any are home. It's simply ridiculous to suggest that players keep one ship home at all times, that effectively removes 33% of our useable ships for playability, or 100% of our playable ships if we have 2 miners out, which we almost always must. On top of that, if we are to do any raiding ourselves as you suggest, we need all 3 of those ships active to conduct those raids which again leaves our base open to getting one shotted while those ships are out raiding. It's happened a LOT. Some players look specifially for players that go out raiding so they can ride in and steal everything the player just stole, only in a much more efficient manner because they have that all powerful horizon or antares etc to one shot the base with while their ships are out.

Consider the case of the NS. It is a wildly efficient 3* miner which would normally make it incredibly useful, except that it has a very small cargo capacity and consequently almost NO protected cargo. The result is that the ship is next to useless. Now, many have observed that the ship itself it twice the size of an envoy yet has roughly 1/10 the cargo capacity. How does that make any sense? It would make sense if all of that extra space was making the Northstar have increased protected limits, like an armored car. It has a much smaller hold, but the protected limit is increased. It could start out at like 10% at tier 1 and max out at 100% at tier 9. This would give people incentives to max out their Northstars (an expensive proposition) which would likely result in increased revenue for Scopely. Everyone wins!

We really should keep in mind the true intention behind the timers, and current game framework. They're intended to promote PVP, therefore emotional responses, and those "bad-for-player but good-for-gamemaker" purchase decisions that follow. Suggestions that preserve or improve this are ones that will likely be of key interest.

So a slight twist, if we want no refinery timer, then perhaps each subsequent refine should increase algorithmically in cost --- refine fast, it'll cost you. Refine slow, keeps costs low.

Just a thought.

....and for the gamemaker... Refinery Resource Relief Packs that become offered only at certain higher refine cost levels.

Suggestion: the daily rewards packs need to have a high tri/ low par option. I would buy them but atm I have no need of millions of parsteel and do need tritanium. Simply an option when cashing them out each day to pick high par or high tri would be great.

Idea- bounty hunter event. Every player gets a randomly spawning target, only they can see (based off players ops level), and they have to hunt it down and blow it up.

If one wants to reduce to likelihood of being raided, simply create some cost to scan bases.... i.e. x dilithium consumed per scan -- cost goes up depending on how far above and below your level the target is.

The pvp lvl engagement is garbage. I have never gotten a break. I am starting to get angry. I am lvl 22. I cannot touch below lvl 20. Yet a lvl 30 with a ship 5 times more powerful then me can rip me apart. When I was lvl 18 I could get smashed by lvl 22. This new engagement for pvp lvls needs to stop.

I dont know if the dev's ever read this, but i dont know where else to post this comment/complaint/ request.
There are no where near enough 3* ore nodes in romulan space or neutral space. I have not been able to get a 3* ore node for the over a week! Several nodes in romulan space have disappeared in the past few months, making the ones left harder (impossible) for smaller, less powerful players to get. They are routinely taken and mined for 24 hours or more by lvl 26 and up players. If my mining daily's (which are the best, fastest way to get romulan rep) were not restricted to ore only, i wouldn't mind so much. There are areas in romulan space i can't get to that (i have been told) have more 3* ore. They do no f-ing good to players if you cant get to them. Being a ftp player, i am already penalized because i dont spend and scopley's free boxes are pathetic. I cannot level my ships to get to those locations to get the 3* ore, so i (and many others) are not allowed the chance to get our daily's completed. So, we are also penalize by not getting reasonable amounts of romulan rep. Im sure others will read this and tell me whay im doing wrong, or that i just need to stop whining.

I’ve been playing for about 6 months now, I am up to lvl24, and I have four functionality suggestions that I think would go a long way to improving player experience. Nothing here to dramatically change the game structure or the balance of power. Just some usability improvements that I think could provide high bang for the buck. I realize that enhancements aren’t free and you have a long list of suggestions already so I have tried to provide some details around the potential implementation as well as some business justification thoughts for Scopely. So, in ranked order, my suggestions are:

  1. Hold Position
#

Description: A new option for each ship (perhaps under the manage/locate/recall menu) whereby you can order a ship to hold position or release the ship again if held already. A little lock icon by the ship picture (much like the max cargo icon as pictured below) or some other visual indicator (maybe a red ring around the ship image so as not to conflict with the cargo icon system?) which would show the player which ships are holding. Any attempt to move/warp/recall said ship would give a dialogue with a warning message that ship is under orders to hold position and the option to override. If this solution is overly complex it would be sufficient just to give an error message that the ship is ordered not to move. The player would have to unlock it and then repeat the move order.

Business Case: This would prevent players from spending 30 minutes getting a choice mining spot, only to then to shift focus to other ships and accidentally send the critical miner off on some wild goose chase to the other end of the galaxy! I have been burned by this too many times and it is maddening. More importantly, I can attest that it makes me disinvest in the game. I feel like I just wasted time with this game and should stop and go spend my time elsewhere. With this option I could have prevented that from happening or, if I forget to order a hold on a critical position, at least that would be my own fault rather than disinvesting from the game which “let that happen”.

  1. Over Protected Cargo indicator
#

Description: Like the max cargo icon pictured above, there should be an over protected cargo icon as well. Something to provide a visual indicator to the player which, if any, of their ships are over their protected cargo limit (or Over Cargo). This indication would only be visible to the player. Other players would have no way to identify such ships without scanning each of them as they do today. A push notification for this state change should also be considered, again, as is currently done with the max cargo state change. Alternatively, a more informative but more involved option could be to include some kind of count down until the ship goes over cargo. The timer and blue count down ring in the ship portrait today shows how long until the node being mined emptied. Something similar to show how long until the ship goes OC would be even more valuable than just indicating that the ship did go over.

Business Case: By giving an at-a-glance indicator to the player about over cargo protected limits, bureaucratic micro-management is taken from of their responsibility. The user mining accords has made the protected cargo limits critical indicators for players to avoid getting hit and players should be freed to focus on gameplay rather than ship stats management. By which I mean that today players have to remember what the protected limit is on each miner ship given its current crew assignments and then select that ship to see if the total cargo (as opposed to the new cargo number shown at the bottom of the screen) exceeds that number. If the player does not know the OC limit on their ship, they have to leave the node in order to get into the management screen, switch tabs to Details, and scroll down until they find the Protected Cargo statistic. In short this would mean, less player frustration and burn-out that they “can’t win” at this game and “can’t mine because I keep getting blown up”. These kinds of complains are commonly expressed and the sentiment could be reduced by giving them this tool to better manage that.

  1. Crew Definitions
#

Description: A new UI (perhaps under the Assign Officers screen shown here) that would allow a player to define crews. Crews would be short cuts for assigning officers to ships. Players could create, edit, or delete crew definitions from this screen. Crew definitions would be made up like a virtual ship with all officer slots unlocked. Players would choose from their own personal full roster of officers and assign into positions onto this virtual ship. Assignments would be independent of other crew definitions and current officer ship assignments. Players could name the crews as they saw fit (reasonable character limits and limits to the count of crew definitions as required). Later, when modifying a ship’s officer assignments at dry dock, there would be a new drop down to apply one of these Crew definitions to the ship. The ship’s current officer assignments would be cleared and the new assignments would be made according to the Crew definition. Officers that were unavailable because they were assigned to other deployed ships would leave blank spaces in the officer deployment slots. As occurs today, officers assigned to other ships at drydock would be transferred over after the same confirmation message (see below screenshot). Officers could be assigned to locked positions on the ship but would be grayed out, exactly as they do when assigned via a ship change rather than via the Assign Officers screen.

Business Case: The savvy player is constantly adjusting the officer assignments to individual ships before they leave the station on some new task. This would standardize and streamline that process. Preferred loadouts could be discussed, defined, and quickly applied without having to sift through long roster lists in one-at-a-time assignments. The result is more than just improved usability. Players would be more willing to experiment with different officer assignments and more incented to invest in promoting those additional officers. An increased attention and focus on Officers would directly relate to an increased user spend in this area.

  1. Scan Your Station
#

Description: When you select your own station there is a button for Enter Station but the Scan button is missing. This button should be made available for scanning your own station and seeing how much resources are available for reward. Players know how much resources they have but it is almost impossible to know how much is protected and what others see when they scan the station. This, in turn, means they cannot evaluate how tempting of a target they present and if they should spend resources and/or use a peace shield.

Business Case: I know that my station has repeatedly been attacked and the attacker rewarded with far more resources then I would have thought available from my station. If people are able to see their own station in a way that can be easily compared to other comparable stations I believe there would be a direct increase in player spend in order to use up or protect those resources.

Sadly most of what he is asking serves no purpose. When a player scans your station he sees everything you have not just your unprotected. The over protected icon is unnecessary because you can easily see what your protected limits are. And as for the hold button if they implement the reverse course button they have been promising us the hold button would not be necessary. The officer set up for different purposes I think is a good idea.

Suggestion: the Ultra-packages for 109,99€ should include enough uncommon and rare material to provide at least 1 upgrade, either ship or station. Shipyard Lvl. 30 requires 390 uncommon crystal but even in the Ultra-packages there is only 136. So it needs 3 Ultra-packages for 330,-€ to build just that. Same with Ultra-ship packages: Saladin weapon on Lvl 20 requires 425 uncommon crystal, Ultra-ship package provides only 207.

Give some ability or bonus for each level the Alliance gains instead of just more "helps" and a few more slots. Show activity log of clan mates, log of who comes in, leaves, name changes, etc... I am finally of the conclusion I am going to stop playing this game actively and leave it in the background and see what occurs over the next few months. I have stopped spending which is never a good sign with my enthusiasm with a game and now the grind, bugs, etc just make you question why am I investing my time let alone money here.

It's so disappointing to see that a game with such potential is just alienating its audience, I appreciate the game is relatively new, and was acquired from a different developer... patience was given to this but improvement and progress is just too slow.

I think scope need to decide what they want this game to be, your diehard startrek fans are unhappy (I am not one) as the nature of this game doesn't reflect that vibe, your whale player base is becoming bored... WARNING big issue these players may dump down the big bucks, critical in early game phase but you offer them so little gamification passed a certain level, they need their rush and you either released too much progress early on or didn't get your butts into gear quick enough to open up progress passed 39. I would consider myself a moderate p2p ..... in any other game I have spent maybe 500-800 over x amount of time, I have spent in the thousands here and I'm bored, I can spend a reasonable amount but I am no mega whale, so I need a balance of incentive to spend and grind that feels like goals reach me in a reasonable time... also not there, and your f2p audience are great up to a point then the game becomes like wading through concrete, and you small spenders.. well good luck to them as the store past a certain point makes it nigh impossible to spend small.

I don't believe you can cater to everyone equally I also know as games become more established nerfs occur and it opens it up to different player styles, but 9 months in it feels almost everyone is reaching a wall of their own version.

Hell even if you wanna play what some people describe as farmville in space you can't as you take so long to address the fact the player base has moved forward and number of g3 nodes aren't sufficient to what they were 6 months ago. Your PVP type players are for the most part bored, PVE offers little excitement same daily grind or impossible matched hostile bosses.

It doesn't have to be this way you show moments where you get it, some events have been great but you feel we deserve these special treats once every 2 months, and even then you strip away at them until people hate something you previously did well.

Communication is just so dire it is crazy.. look all products, solutions have teething pains and problems, but you keep customers in the loop, and hey here is a crazy idea address a problem before they do and you get respect and some time bought for patience.

Why is it always me on the receiving end of this? Can’t you limit in some way how many people that they can randomly attack before they have to provide you with at least some kind of reason?? @rugged island, thanks for your suggestion, but I have learned my lesson about spending any money in this game. It gets stolen by the same bigger players and Scopely don’t provide so much as a 5 minute shield to protect it with. I also have a very limited budget, so I can’t afford to have it stolen. I’m also restricted on time in game too. The time it would take to search system after system isn’t available. So therefore revenge isn’t possible either, and is often just a precursor to their revenge against you for your revenge against them. The only winner is Scopely... they take the 💰 but it’s automated... so the money you spend comes down to an I in the £50 column - and you get a few extra photons for your trouble. Progress - but not in any real sense. 🖖🏻

Looking at the imbalance of the leaderboards, I realize base raids need some adjustment. There need to be cooldowns put in place.

  1. a cooldown for moving your base. This should only be able to happen once every hour or so. Moving your base next to someone to speed up raiding then bug out and on to the next is just unsporting.
  2. cooldown between re targeting the same enemy with the same ship. I should not be able to sit there and keep hitting the same base with the same ship over and over and over...
  3. small one but fix the k/d on base hits. One round of having my base raided shouldn’t drop my k/d by .2.

The speed at which you can loose resources and time by having someone hit your base is uncanny, and very disheartening. Many of my players are dejected after a raid and I’m sure it leads to many players quitting, many arguments, many frustrated players. Limiting the damage a player can do to another is key to morale in this game, and reducing the unsportsmanlike conduct will help keep players in the game and spending money.

⚔ Being able to identify other alliances as allies so that their colour was different would be excellent. Many groups have more than one alliance not to mention agreements. By identifying those groups visually you'd prevent friendly fire. And to take it one step further if the adms of both groups can select permits between that would be amazing. IE. Can hit ships not bases, Can't hit anything etc.

Add to what has been said many times - More lvl 3 nodes. When there's no mining event taking place and yet all the lvl 3 nodes are occupied that shows there is a shortage. Plenty of empty trit, steel and lvl 2 nodes, even the odd dil node.

There are staff members part of this Discord that explicitly do not have a role and monitor various channels.
How frequent that is and what is done with the information, I don't know - but I've had multiple requests in the past of a developer to engage in a conversation with a user that posted something in #👾-bug-reporting for example.

Since it's their bread to ensure as many people are as happy as possible, I would think it'd be in their best interest to log ideas and suggestions as well.
That said, we Moderators monitor every channel and frequently provide summarized rapports or at times, even forward excellent ideas straight away.

@wild ridge whats the highest a lvl 24 base can be? Maybe 800k with 3 maxed ships. More likely it will be closer to 400k. Lvl 32 faction ships start out at 300k. Add crew bonuses and it is a guaranteed 1 hit.

If you have a maxed out station and researches an average player should not be able to 1 hit you. If you are going to impose hit ranges use that as a standard.

How about working on the Market? This game has progressed to the point that on our server, new players are minimum and time of players level 25 and above, being a level 20 myself, it is taking forever and a week just to get the materials needed for upgrading. Plus relocate tokens at times. Among other things.

Right now I'm at +1.4M Federation reputation, -520K Romulan reputation and the Klingons simply hate me. 😜
I would like to be able to increase my Romulan reputation and reach the positive zone. But that is almost impossible for me now. I would have to skip the Federation daily tasks, do only Romulan missions, and grind a lot of Federation hostiles. Even so it would take me months, maybe a year, to reach the positive level of Romulan reputation.
But, if I would be able to do the Romulan daily event, I would have a chance. It would be just awesome if it would be possible to have all the faction related daily tasks and I could simply choose which one of them to perform. But lets start simple and move to complex things afterwards.
What do you think?

you can do that, no problem. just earn 10,000,500 faction rep in a faction and it will lock. then make the next positive, etc. if you are dual faction this is another strategy, but same goal, just two locked then go back and make the third positive....

With Spock and Bones on the bridge, and Kirk as captain I can grind at most 10 level 31 Federation traders in one run. Maybe 15 if I'm lucky. After that it's repair time.
And right now bases with level 21+ that have anything to loot aren't exactly easy to find.

I would like to see "Bribes" add that will restore your faction reputation back to exactly neutral, no more, no less.

Given the nature of this item it would need to be a paid item, and quite expensive to stop them being abused, with maybe a 7 days cool down been uses..

You should never be in a position that you cannot get back to at least neutral reputation without months and months of mindless grinding.

I don't like the way the lower level players can attack higher-level players without any recourse. When you attack a higher level player you should lose your invulnerability two attacks for a. Of time. that would prevent lower-level players from staying at low levels so they can't be attacked.

The new client added a change to the camera focus when attacking other ships. Now when you attack a ship, focus jumps back to your own ship while in travel. If I was in hostile faction space, this might be a good idea, to watch out for Klingon Fighters for example. But in most cases, I'll want to watch the target ship to see if someone else takes it out before I get there so I can quickly choose a new target. Also, it is more likely my next target will be near the current one so keeping the focus in that area makes more sense. I think the focus should be set on the target ship if not under a hostile threat (red warning banner) otherwise, on own ship.

There needs to be a set lower/higher cap bubble per level. The current way things are done definitely benefit the big money players. To allow a level 33 to smash a level 23, yet tell the 23 they are only allowed to hit down to a lvl 20 is so far skewed! Allowing a level 33 to hit a low level 20 is akin to allowing a pit bull to fight a Yorkshire Terrier.There is absolutely NO chance the 20 stands any chance, no matter how well they are researched. The poor 20 level doesn't even have access to ships that could maybe even scratch the pain of the ones coming in. At least allow some semblance of parity and fairness.

Any remote chance that management of crew will be made easier.

For example: being able to create, name and save ship crews; crew searchable by traits/abilities, e.g. search for all crew that have attacking hostile benefit, add to warp distance, increase shield vs battleships etc.

With the increased issue of level 9s and 14s getting to grade 3 nodes and sitting on them long past 0 how about looking into these options?

  1. Not allowing them to mine those nodes unless they are able to participate in pvp
  2. Add a function that if no activity is made on a 0 node by the player after 1 minute, the ship auto recalls (or blows up...for fun)

Could also look into adding a "Are you there?" popup for 0 nodes and over protected limits.

My issue-suggestion:
Base raiding for surveys is both too hard and too easy. Without a financially supported ship hitting a cracked base +3 or 4 levels is many times impossible at 25-30, but horizons with 400k can one shot a 500k base like it's a paper bag.

What about giving surveys a +2 combat advantage on cracked bases
And to balance,
A -2 advantage against turrets

This would also put fear in the "virtually unhittable" bases once cracked

I would say that there are no where near enough 3* ore nodes in romulan space and neutral space. Being a lowly lvl 22 who is ftp...i can not take away any nodes from the bigger players who seem to live on those few nodes. I and others are unable to gain romulan rep because we are unable to do our mining daily's. I know that some people will read this and tell me to stop whining...well frack off! You have not been trying to gain 300,000 rep for the past 6 months. There are nodes in romulan space that have vanished leaving even fewer nodes to mine 3* ore. So frustrating! 'Nuff Said!

Could please make it so a team can’t raid a team member that they kick for say 24 hours. It would keep teams from kicking their teammates and raiding them & then letting them back on the team in an effort to win the challenge. Seems like cheating to me ?

@cold kite You nailed a very large problem there. what's the point of having an alert if its completely useless due to players being able to bypass it? Virtually every player learned early on: flashing ship icon? warp away!, base attack alert? put up a shield! That quickly devolved into players saying "screw these alerts, I want to cause some grief!" and sailing right up next to miners and bases before hitting attack so that there was no time to react to it.

The alerts were put there to allow us to react, there needs to be changes made so that we are given the time to do so. A minimum attack radius would be good, a 3 second delay on player attacks would also be good.

Otherwise remove the warnings all together. At present all attack warnings are equivalent to your fire alarm going off 5 minutes after the fire has reduced your house to a pile of smouldering ash.

@cold kite does it make sense at all that earning ship xp ought to count as spending it? collecting ship xp is hard, spending it for events vs earning it as you engage in battle seems like I'm earning and spending .. but events only count it as spending if we upgrade and click the button to move xp items into making the ship level up one more level

@cold kite the 5 min delay was just an exaggerated example based on when many people receive the actual alerts when they are not in game. Using the fire alarm analogy however, it's supposed to alert you when there's smoke, BEFORE the catastrophic fire begins so you have time to react and evacuate, or find a way to stop whatever is smoking from burning. I'd consider that something of a prediction. See where i'm going with this?

For the most part i've just turned alerts off because they are completely useless. I'm either ingame and paying attention to whats going on, or i don't get the alerts until hours, sometimes days after something has happened. If my miner goes zero, I expect it to get hit, if i really want to keep it safe I set a timer because i can't rely on alerts, and even if they work, by the time you log in someones probably already hit it.

Since there is scant documentation for anything here how would anyone guess the ten minute shields work in any other way that just “you get hit and it deploys”? We need much better documentation for how features like this work.

This is not true AT ALL! It's common practice for people to use fortunates against bases to force their 10 minute shields to deploy. Fortunates do precisely ZERO damage to any base because the do not survive the first shot from a defense turret.

It would be nice if Scopely took threats and harrassment, between players, seriously. They should be asking the recipients to provide more information about about what's going on, in order to get to the bottom of it, instead of the usual response of, "We've forwarded this to our team." At least have someone follow up on the issues. I like this game, but I can't count the number of times I've received vulgar death threats and sexual innuendos via private messages, and then reporting them only to basically be told "tough luck". I'm playing this game for fun, not to get laid or horribly harrassed and stalked. I get that there's going to be trash talking, but there's a really big difference between that and what I just mentioned. Oh, and, please, give us a "cancel" option or an "Are you sure" message when we tap "recall." Thanks.

I would like all systems to be set to a lvl 1 system (keep warp distance and time). Alliances could occupy systems and work on construction projects. This could be anything from resources, to defense torrents located throughout the system, sensor arrays to spy on enemies (even through station shields); to massive construction projects such as warp catapults, alliance r&d, etc. Alliance could level these systems to gain access to new projects. Since these are alliance projects, they would be a massive undertaking requiring a lot of time and resources. This would make warfare more interesting and could even spark some new economic benefits to the alliance: we charge 100k tritanium to use our warp catapults. There could be in app purchases for faster completion (separate from station speed-ups) and more packs to buy the resources needed.

war between alliances: alliance leader/commodore can elect to go to war. the game matches them up with another alliance equal in alliance level or strength (or choose a specific alliance)and they fight for 24 hours (or however long) points are awarded for killing opponents ships, knocking them off mines, raiding their bases. you can also get points for mining. alliance with the most points at the end of the war wins.

rewards can be either scopely given, or each alliance must create a war chest before going to war. then the reward, if you win, is the opponents war chest divided among the winning alliance players

@barren lynx I think the ability to tag players or alliances arbitrarily and then use the tag system to declare war on a tag would be benificial. the scopely ui could make the opposition show up as neon orange or something obvious so hitting the wrong player in a war is mostly avoided. having a war chest could be fun, maybe requiring a formal scopely tag assisted war requiring a war chest to be created would be fun. Not all wars are declared with the receipent's desires, so somehow that would need to be taken into account.

Put a timer in game counting down to maintenance downtime, so all players would get the info regardless of their timezone. It just reads a counter from the server, can't be too hard and saves us doing timezone calculations 😁

To help minimize and/or deter mine sweeping, how about we either impose a permit fee to hit ships while mining (set by the attacking ships ops level) or require a 2 minute cool down after hitting a mining ship before you can hit another. The cooldown or fee would only apply when hitting the attack button and not when the combat actually takes place, so if you engage the attack before they duck onto the mine, there will be no penalty or cool down.

To fit better into a storyline, you might just impose a fee anytime one puts a ship on a mine, even if swapping ships. This way, players are encouraged to use ships with larger cargo capacities, only mine when they need to, and if they pay the fee to hit another miner, half that fee paid goes to the other player (provided the node isn't already zeroed).

Since the ship gets completely destroyed and the base takes ZERO damage, by their description the shield should not activate....but it DOES.

@opal wave This is all speculation but look closely at the Galaxy Research logo on the new packs.... there's some borg-like inspiration there. Perhaps the next story line is that due to the galaxy research, it will now attract some Borg attention. There's some perfectly open space to the west of Fed Space that'd fit the bill. It'd be easy to do an augment or swarm like set of systems and call it Borg space (more no-shield all-hull big damage reds but perhaps a nice twist is that it is empty space except that they're only hostile red spawns.)

IMHO, it'd be good fun to fight Borg red hostiles that ignore shields 100% after Round 1 (as if they adapted). And perhaps create some expensive new Borg drone Rare officer that has an officer skill to ignore more shields the longer the battle rounds progress (say, +10% shield ignored, so after round 10, it's 100% ignore shields).

...maybe this plays well with the whole time-travel future AI red angel stuff in Discovery.

@fickle osprey that white coloring you are referring to indicates how much of your ships total cargo capacity is used. It will continue filling in the circle until you have reached max cargo cap. Nothing to do with protected amounts.
Although a PC indicator would be a nice feature.

In the prime universe, Borg also exist in the past, recall ST First Contact and ST Enterprise where future Borg exist in both the past 21st century and 22nd century, respectively. A simple retcon explanation for Borg in the Kelvin universe, supported by ST Discovery's abuse of AI, Red Angel, Future Time Travel, Spore Drive, etc., would be simple technobabble exercise. Add a dash of non-dairy creamer and microwaves and voila.... Borg event in Kelvin timeline.

What about an "Expand the Federation" event? Where a specific crew complement on a specific ship is required to make first contact with new worlds. Could work under the same structure as current missions but instead of donating resources or fighting a hostile it ends with a specific crew returning on a specific ship to sign a charter. I made a suggestion through the in-game contact form that I think would be helpful. Because servers are putting together rules of engagement just so we can perform certain operations in peace, one very simple change would help a lot without necessarily constraining the game experience.

I proposed that Scopely implement a change so that if a player has a survey/mining ship on a node, that ship is immune from PvP attacks until the player has achieved their daily limit, as long as the node is not exhausted. So let's say Joe is mining a gas node and needs 17k to reach dailies. It doesn't matter if he's over his protected cargo or not. He can stay on that node immune from PvP attacks until the node goes to zero (at which time he could be attacked), or until he hits 17k in gas (at which time he could be attacked). There's already code in place to check a target mining ship's level, so it would just require a little change to that logic.

If it would be implemented like that the whole protected cargo thing wouldn't work. A maxed out envoy with the right officers already has a 20k protected cargo (without new researches). The whole thing about protected cargo is that no matter what happens, when you get attacked you'll keep the material or rss that's protected.. make it so that you can't be attacked when under the protected cargo limit or when the node is zero. A lvl 20 doesn't have to mine 15k (consort level) of any material for daily...

@fickle osprey @nimble frigate the white line is the hull health of your ship. By what you circled It looks like you are referring to the blue line that fills up around the circle. That is the countdown timer to when the node is depleted, when the circle is full, the mine is depleted. There's no indicator for cargo protection limit, only the 3 boxes showing cargo hold is completely full (which never happens on miners outside of base raiding)

I'd like to see an alert for that too, but I don't think it's going to happen. mining is tough enough already, roe makes it a little tougher. zero nodes get an alert so they often refresh unless sleeping which means you gotta stay up late at night. OP is the only real guarantee of getting a node cuz no one knows when that'll happen unless they do the math and set a timer (guilty).

There are some problems with bases. How can they move across the galaxy instantly? I understand you don’t want a base slot to be contested by 2 players, but make the move instant but add a cooldown before any ships can be moved or any actions taken and maybe add some kind of graphic to illustrate this. Also I would like to see a cooldown period between base relocations. Like an hour or so. We can call it a recharge period. Maybe add some research that could help with that?

Base moves being instant a) defy logic - ships take a LONG time to warp, a base should take longer b) allow for unsportsmanlike conduct with base raids c) are used as an exploit to overcome ship warp limitations.

I would not be opposed to seeing base speed vary depending on resources in the base. More resources being stored means more mass, which takes more energy to accelerate, therefore slower.

If a mission takes you to a hostile system, a hostile warship starts to chase you. Numerous times I have had to flick through mission dialogue without reading it so as not to be destroyed. Can I suggest that you remove the hostile if I engage with a mission? Or at least freeze it in place? Right now all your effort to create engaging content is lost in this circumstance

Originally filed as a bug reported, moved here because it was deleted. The Botany Bay provides a huge bonus to data mining rate, but the research provided in the new Galaxy tab provides only a tiny rate bump. Since boost percentages are added, the tiny rate bump that the research provides is very insignificant compared to the bonus already provided by the ship. The rate doesn't increase much for the amount of resources spent on the research.

I know it's iffy having the borg in this timeline but come on let have a borg system with them invading random mining systems and if we can't push them back they start taking over the mining nodes then borg ships start patrolling the area attacking on site if you get too close. A suggestion for this channel - can you pin some of the frequently requested features along with responses? Every time I look on this page I see someone recommend a way to break down/sell old ships, suggesting a way to overlap shields, etc. I also very rarely see comments on these (as they have been suggested a million times). And so on...
Each level gives you a one time benefit like uncommon Chrystalls and a boost like plus in damage dealt to hostiles.

I see possible problems with different level players parking at a base. Let’s say a lvl 30 parks at a lvl 20 base. Now a level 18 player would be capable of attacking the base but not the ship docked at it.

I'm. Ot much of a discord poster, so I apologize if this has been addressed before. Reward and events are pigeon hold based on thier level. It is apperent to me that many people might want ship parts and rss that are not commensurate to the level that they are. Example: I am level 24 but i want to level my envoy, so I dont want 3* parts. Could we have options to collect equal or lesser parts, border to advance ships we want? Or at least trade down to get what I want? You can do it!

@young oyster in our server people are starting to realize that vaults are there for a reason, and try to kekep rss below it .. it is hard to find an unshieded base with that motherload you need to upgrade 4 ships worth of tri, for example. As an effect, people will tae sips of your base to get more rss than the damage they incur. Horizon is nice to do this with. Just beware, generator storage is something such sips can drain even if all your rss is below vault. So you can still be a target even if under vault due to generator storage not being protected by vaults.

I have a suggestion for base looting. I think it should be a little more like mining. You attack the base to kill the defenses, then park a ship on the base. The rss are loaded over time as your boarding crew bring resources into your ship. Rates are much faster than mining but not instant. The ship doing the looting would be able to get a full hold. Loading rates are based on type of ship, crew, research, etc.

This would slow down looting a bit and make it more realistic, but also make it more involved with having proper ships, crew, and so on. There could be defensive research (security crew?) that could slow down raiding crews. If the base puts up shields the raiding ship would be jettisoned.

Advanced Shipyard: can recycle old starships into special components that are used to upgrade faction ships to higher star rating vesels.
example: to upgrade a Boras to Ktinga you would need say 500 engine components, 1000 energy weapon 1500 kenetic and 500 cargo or some such.

we need real time coop missions that require the participation a group of players like a squadron of 5 or 7 players attacking in a group a big PVE target.
example:
you generate a space monster at a random independent sector and essue a general alert on the galactic map.
players then come together with the lead player initiating an attack order on the creature. that will open a squaron request icon
on the left of the HUD alliance wide and 5 first players to except will send a ship of their choosing to be attached to the squadron.
normal travel times apply.
when all the ships reach the lead the squadron is set and the attack begins. alliances then compete in real time to kill the monster or do the most dmg for prises etc..

Augment ships need to be added to the Augment faction store. It's nice that my Augment officers are advancing at twice the speed of my regular officers, but I would really like to be able to earn those ships.
Also, why are the only Augment ships merely variants of the weakest faction ships?

I am new to this as my first computer/console system was TRS-80 so online games is new to me. The idea I have would make it harder but more fair and just for all players. Convert the gas mines in to a solar system wide nebula, just park the ship and collect. Place leveled gas 0 being no gas, 10 (in the center). The closer to the renter the more damage the gas does to the ship. Use scan hostiles (100 times per level) to make so your ship receives no damage. The 100 per level meaning per level of gas you want to go to. Each scanned hostile carries gas and upon scan comes to attack you.

How about a function where you can convert speed ups into different speed ups? For example, let's say that you have 50 minutes left on an upgrade or a repair, but you only have a 1 hour speed up. If you use that, then the 5 minutes that are left over from the 1 hr speed up will turn into a 5 minute speed up. That way, nothing goes to waste.

1: I would like to see a mock combat mode with alliance teammates. maybe derate the weapons on the ships by 90% . this allows testing of ships and crews for PvP purposes. No rewards, no change in stats.
there is canon to support this as well.

2: If weapons derating were implemented, then the hit down rules could be amended for grabbing nodes. I think anyone on a node should be attackable, regardless of level. If weapons are derated, then it would make it more fair for lower levels. Defenses for higher levels within the hit up brackets could be derated as well.

That's a 31 gallon return on 42. Make the refinery more realistic. On my last batch I got 38 uncommon. I need 250 for one upgrade. And I need 4. And yes I know it's based on chance. I Know. Has nothing to do with the amount of UNC being dispersed when a player does hit UNC. The returns are ludicrous and makes the chance system even worse. Add UNC to the daily. I saw your little pack in the offer. 🤣 that only had 38 UNC. Worthless.

How about the ability to allow alliances to join together in a pact that allows them to combine into another chat called pact. Limit the combined numbers of the alliances and allow a way to increase numbers by making contributions to the pact.

If I am traveling through the galaxy and see an enemy alliance ship in blinking red it would signify that they are at war with our alliance.

How about a way to store locations as bookmarks so we can store locations of interest. They could be systems, planets, mining spots or Bases. Also it would be great if we could give those bookmarks a meaningful name like "crystal mine" or "Loaded Base"

Our server is currently being attacked by the main 3 alliances. Top and most powerful. Mostly because of a bunch of people slandering each other. It is foolish because it lessons the world and destroys the desire to play. My suggestion is to make a system for each activity alliance in the top 200. Where the whole of their alliance could move . In this location stop there forward gained resources from generators. As a cost of their safety. The other things this new system would do is literally stop any other alliances from entering it. It would keep those who need safety safe but make it harder to grow. It wouldn't hurt to have a place like that.

(as an aside, programmer perspective, scopely only need to register the handler, other 3rd party can supply the coords, pass it to the app, and presto .. go to coord from outside the game .. I can't see how it would be that hard if they spent a few hours on it ..)

I've long suspsected that there is a directive to developers to keep making things interesting vs fixing bugs. Not really hard to expect based on the amount of new content being released that didn't take two seconds to think up or implement vs the number of painful and tragic bugs that continue to thwart players daily.

We need a “drop out of warp” command. If the ship hasn’t warped then the ship stops. If the ship has started warping then the ship stops at the next immediate star system whether or not it’s been explored. If there are no systems before the destination, then it will stop at it’s destination. There could be a repair cost for sudden “stops”.

you didn't see a Q&A a few months back .. they said 'when in warp, ship is nowhere, client is counting time till it appears in the destination' so it doesn't really do what the visuals would imply. They said a 1st cut fix would be to return to destination with the amount of time spent already doubled to get baack.

Rogue emkers can make some people quit. Thats much alike bullying.
There should be a feature available only fir alliance reaching a certain level, allowing to manage rules of engagement between alliances. Fir example an alliance could choose to not commit emk, therefore, no other player could emk them unless they are in an alliance at war with them.
War status between alliances could be declared by any alliance, but the alliance declaring war cannot change status to peace for 24h, for example. But, there would be power requirement fir the alliance that wants to declare war to at least have 50%, for example, of the power of targeted alliance. This to prevent rogue afker to finance its own alliance level just to declare war on anyone.
This would also allow to constantly declare war to any rogue emker so after be8ng stupid he could never be in peace...

I think if you’ve spent about $200 on this game with about 2 months of grinding play, you should be able to fully max out all buildings, research, and ships at level 14. It’s so hard to get G2 uncommon resources even after refining more than 5 two batches and still get only commons.

Ftp should be able to hit 14 with all buildings and research maxed in 2 months without a problem and only moderate grinding. Ships are problematic due to refinery which is a major roadblock at all levels. Many of us have gone weeks without getting a single uncommon from any material.

You missed out on galaxy research. What you should have done is make a research vessel. This ship would have to travel to specific areas to research specific things. You could have made a whole side story. “A spatial anomaly has formed in the Orion system. Send a research vessel out to see how the unique particles coming from the anomaly could be used to develop faster warp travel”

The other benefit to a research vessel is that it would allow researching 2x things at once. Some research could require both lab research and field research, meaning it would tie up both at the same time, but other research could be done concurrently.

suggestion: the game has three major focus: mining, pve and pvp. While optional, pvp is for many a primary motivator towards staying in the game. Pve is somewhat optional as well, but mining.. We all have to mine, then be frustrated from refining 5.000.000 batches in order to accumulate the uncommons needed to upgrade ships beyond 200k power.

Why not combine the game aspects? Add a chance of uncommon crystals in pve chests, give a small chance of gaining a base-pvp-chest from succesfull raids (full cargo or it will be exploited!). The chest could contain a few uncommon Ressources, but at no cost to the victim.

Thus would motivate players to take part in all aspects of the game, which is important. Especially now that parsteel, titanium and, to some extent, dilithium are so readily available through events.

Scanning, I believe, needs to be expanded. Right now, if a player is outside the attach range of your ship. Then you cannot see if they are OC or even get their name to send a message.
For that matter we cannot do that for our alliance members eather. I can get more information on a player not in my alliance than I can on one who is in my alliance.
I think that this needs to change.

There needs to be more ways to improve faction status once deemed hostile. Every level hits a wall where missions are undoable - for awhile- a long while. We should be able to improve status in other ways, or Scopely add more missions for factions at each level.

faction status is improved via dailies (faction and mining), event cards (reputation event), hitting any hostile not of the faction you want to improve .. are not enough?

Dailies only can help you improve faction status of factions you are already friends with. I’m trying to improve status I’m a faction I’m not on good terms with - that’s a lot of ships to hit, but I guess I will have to grind it out!

the other trick is to not do dailies of factions that would put your grinding at a disadvantage. when I decided to go dual faction, -33k klingon seemed like forever, but one month later, with a few klingon missions, finally realizing to stop dailies for feds, they became positive .. at +500 you get the faction rep card in the event store at the next app restart, and you get dailies added the next daily reset

given an imbalance between the rep gained on dailies and event cards, I highly recommend you balance the two before you fully go for both, I did everything except the event card for feds, now feds and klingons are in balance

Officer presets.
How it would work, lets say per drydock you can have up to 3 presets, if offi is occupied throw "hey it will take officer from other ship, continue?" and if cannot do so (becouse other ship isnt docked) "cannot swap all officers, officer(s) XYZ, ABC are on other ship. Continue swapping with only available officers?"

@vast halo I would like to suggest an idea that will make your business some monies and give us players a viable pack purchase option for those that cannot afford the $100 packs. Make a $20 pack with just 3* uncommon. For example, a $20 pack with "only" 3* uncommon crystal, ore or gas.
