Be honest Scopely, are you really at all interested in reducing the ever worsening grind of this game? You’ve said in the past that you are, but every new content release is making it worse. And here we have the Vi’Dar skin. An item that doesn’t make your Vi’Dar more stronger at all, PvP or PvE. Doesn’t alter the balance of power in any way. But it does do one important thing. IT REDUCES THE GRIND TIME TO FARM PROBES. If you really care about player burnout from the grind, then you should be making it much much easier for everyone to get the Vi’Dar skin. You have plenty of other ways to make money selling stuff that actually make players STRONGER. And if things like easier to source Vi’Dar skins helps keep more players from quitting due to grind burnout, that will also lead to more money for you in the long run.

For me (level 36), this 24h events/dailies have this requirements: 250-280 hostiles for faction hunt, 75 for swarm and ~75 for borg tokens. So 400+ hostiles in total. Lets not forget travel times etc. This is really too much for grinding. I will be level 37 in few days I don't want to imagine if faction hunt will escalate further with requirements. Rewards are great but requirements are way to high.

i will never complain about faction hunt. Yeah it takes some time, but the rewards are very good compared to most events.

I think the Borg event would have been better received if it were possible to get more officer shards and more refit shards (maybe even some auction/grind SLBs for full unlock)

If they want to do more borg events there needs to be more ways to get borg armada directives to build up for it. Maybe as a daily reward for killing borg probes same with the megacube. Do agree the rewards needed to be alot better

There is nothing wrong with the concept of the Faction Hunt Event. But the points required to complete all the milestones are way too unnecessarily high. They should be cut by at least half. In addition a fourth Hunt Event should be added for a Neutral Faction that rewards an EQUAL AMOUNT of Independent Creds since they have become such a huge bottleneck

Faction Hunt is my favorite event in this game. I complained when they didnt run it for over a month. Gave me some lame-ass excuse that they wanted to do other events to introduce new content

@left marlin , yes Faction Hunt requires well over 200 kills to complete (at ops 37 it's about 260 kills for me), but at least there are plenty of systems to hit (unlike Military Supremacy where everyone is hunting level 40 Hostiles). Hardest part for me is managing Rep for Feds and Roms, so I stay under 30m.

For sure if there's a fourth faction to hunt, they need to scale the kills a little better. Maybe increase kills by 2 points instead of 1, after a point. So 26-27 is 5 points, 28-29 is 7, 30-31 is 9, etc. That would make 38-39 17 points per, much less grindy but still kinda grindy XD

Everyone has the same problem. You've gotta pick and choose what is most important to you, rather than try to get everything. Over the last few arcs I skipped Geordi, Data, and Picard, because the first 2 weren't worth it to me, and the 3rd caused auctions to go so high that I couldn't realistically compete. I got Riker, and thankfully I was able to use the mats and directives I had saved up over the previous 2 months to do so. I skipped Troi, and because of that I have a chunk of mats stored up to compete for Georgiou. I don't think I'll win it, but it will get me a lot closer than I otherwise would be. This is actually really useful to me, as I'm ops 31, and heading towards getting an Augur as my first Epic. If I wasn't going for an Augur, I'd probably skip this too..... At least for now.....

Personally, I'm okay with this. It's been obvious for the entire time I've been playing this game that you can't have everything..... But you can pick and choose what you go after, and it's up to you to decide what is worth it, and what isn't.

wait till you are on ops 40. You need 330k lat to compensate 30k 4* common. Refinery gives you about 200 per day. 😂 Stay on 39, best advice i can give

I think (and stress think) that the different traits are locked by the tier of the officer. You'd need to promote him to get the next one open.
But I don't know how you select which trait to upgrade, if it's even possible, when you have multiple unlocked.

Folks at 39 that are not already whales (those of us that have been playing for 2+ years and got here the hard way) will have absolutely NO incentive to push to 40+. We have heard the horror stories from the whales on mats going up. Slowing down our already snails pace just makes us hunker down, or even slow/stop playing. Now helping us actually see progress? So, great logic, we have several members that are Ops lvl 26 & they have the "Like Mother Like Son" SMS. The issue here is, most of them don't have anywhere near the firepower to destroy Eclipse hostiles & the Stella is a lvl 27 ship, so how are they meant to get more event store currency? Why even give these players the event? My people aren't alone in this, talking with a few other admirals, some of their members have the same complaint. Perhaps next time, you guys might think to give an alternate version of the event these players actually have a hope in completing...

Even so the event shop is not a complete waste and players might be able to get something from it. It is apparent that $copely only cares to cash in on their players. We might should be happy to get some improvement compared to the Borg event shop, but the multiple event currency cash shop packs give a clear message. Also that the last two new features are only really rewarding when fueled by cash shop packs. You should think with all the money they are making they could employ a community who engages with us and maybe even brings our concerns back to greedy money grabbers corporate, but no we must be all so stupid that we continue to feed this!

Tell them to level that kumari up to tier 6/L30. With yuki chen moreau or 579 they can do fine. That's how I got codes for stella in the first place. It's painful to repair, but not as much as faction ships and they need those codes anyway.

Not really man, completing that event with only uncommon armadas is gonna take a LONG time, 300*100=30,000 points per uncommon started and you need 12.5 million points. Unless you are doing the ones in mid 30's or higher your looking at a minimum of over 200 uncommon armadas to finish the event. In two days that's a lot of screen time to finish. Using rares and epics its much more doable though.

The Master Surveyer and Captain and First Officer events are not calculating points correctly.
I tiered up my D'Vor which is supposed to be 80k and received 30k.
I had Picard as cap, I destroyed 22 level 27s and 28s and 3 29s which should be 556 and received 511, which is technically impossible if individual scores are even numbers.

The TNG Arc 5 Missions... read multiple times that it is 35+ only. Known a few folk at lower levels than that who have the missions. Asked support about it as I have teammates that are lvl 37 that cant get the missions. Essential they said, "there is criteria you have to meet to unlock the mission keys, but I can't tell you what they are. Keep on playing."

That would work fine, as long as they have the officers, of which I think only one of our guys at lvl 26 that was stuck with this had 7 & 9 of 10, Moreau & of course everyone has Chen. Checking with the rest of them, two of them have Yuki, but no Moreau. The only members we have that have 5 of 10 are all 27+ (not me, still no luck), so most of them have Stellas too, but that's issue when you're relying so heavily on RNG for officers.

Ok, so the scoring issues up till now were mainly annoying and somewhat frustrating. However, things have now got to a completely different level. The servers have been struggling today with everyone doing Armada Frenzy. What doesn't help is giving half scores for those Armadas!
People are burning through their directives because of it.
I did a Level 29 Uncommon, which should earn 8000, instead, it earned 4000.
I hope you are going to provide some reimbursement of directives after this Scopely!!!!!

Not just that the few higher OPS player can reach the 500k mines in deeper deep space. They also get additional points for the new officers they won due to that wide brackets. And what do they get as reward for that new event they can easy dominate (again)? More new Officer shards!

Sending them high OPS players just a gift chest with the shards and not doing an event would have the same outcome, maybe even a better outcome because of less frustrated players.

At any given ops / shipyard level the same ships are open to everyone, barring rep or some research. However, the opportunity to do the rep grind or research has presented itself evenly to everyone at a particular ops level (and shipyard and other buildings, of course). So, why should a level 26 who chose not to get a horizon be in a different level than a level 26 who put the time into getting a horizon? The same logic easily applies to any given level, maybe one ops 26 easily got a mayflower because they focused Feds while another is dual grinding and hasn’t yet gotten enough credits or rep to purchase their first faction warship, choices were made.

It’s far superior to ops 31s in the same bracket as ops 34s.

depends on what you're hitting, your vidar tier and stella research. The grind is much worse when both aren't strong. The 33 probe grind is fast, and a really good stella can fill cargo in just a few hits.

So halfway into this arc I'm gonna say it feels pretty underwhelming. Lot of people will rush to defend it but the facts are the mini events are very low paying in event store loot. Also a lot of the events to get more loot are locked behind tickets this time. Yes, we get a few free tickets, but that doesn't change the fact that the amount of store loot rewarded from thess events won't even come close to the amount of rewards in previous ticket events. Previous ticket events awarded tens to hundreds of millions of basic resources, and lots of g3-g4 on top of it. Now we get about 5k event store loot which can only buy a few million regular resource or a handful of uncommon.
Personally this is not what I was expecting for a supposed final arc of tng. The story is just...boring, and the rewards are lackluster compared to previous arcs. Value has decreased for time investment.

The first time Scopely tried ticketed events, they CLEARLY stated that the BP would provide enough tickets to do 1 option per day, with additional tickets available for purchase. After that Scopely went to providing 10 "starter" tickets as a gift for EVERY ticketed events (again, with additional tickets available for purchase). This time we got 20 tickets in Milestone 2 off the FREE Battlepass but weren't CLEARLY told that they would be needed down the road, especially as we DID get the "starter" tickets for the previous event. Those 20 tickets were seen as a BONUS, given that this is the final month of the TNG ARC and the event rewards were tokens to be used in the store.

The response from Customer NON Service is a total Bait and Switch cop out.

Summon is using the Disco to bring another ship into the same system as the disco. It's s researchable skill locked to level 30.

The anomalous phenomena doesn't always give points for travelling with the disco. It alternates, one week it does the next it doesn't. That's normal

Whose idea was it to stop offering decent stuff via the "Domination Events" and turn them into "Auction Only" events where you MUST spend directives, or ungodly amounts of uncommon/rare/epic G3 and G4 mats?

Used to be, even semi-whales like me could actually strategize - build some ships, tier them up over time, hoard some officer intel, ship xp, and even hold some lat to buy more when an event came then spend it all to get something I wanted. Now? That strategy no longer applies. You must buy many thousands of dollars of packs as well as BP's and stuff to spend it on in order to compete.

You've only fostered an environment where it actually pays for you NOT to level up. Stay at a much lower level so competitions are more merit-based on grinding vs. money based on how big your AMEX is.

And those really cool skins and buffs you get? They look really nice at the lower levels - but when you get into the 40's and up? You learn that applying all those skins and buffs affect only the BASE of your ship. They don't truly stack in a manner you would expect. So remember that the next time to spend 1.4 BILLION dil on a research where the outcome is literally barely noticeable.

I cant even imagine what it will be like when G5 and level 51+ comes into play.

what could be even more fun would be if there were some way to see other brackets in events, we "know" others in our alliance are grinding but can't see them on our leaderboard because separated by ops, we have a pulldown already to show alliance members perhaps some way to add to that or a similar mechanism to show other leaderboards? Wouldn't it be fun to enumerate which ops ranges are in what leaderboards vs having to guess? Lat rush is known, but am I ready to bump to the next leaderboard up? begging ss from friends in higher ops brackets vs seeing for myself ... priceless 😉

To points above I expected more event store credits. Yet again I'll have half an epic and probably never be able to get picard because he was so overpriced both number of shards and price per shard. I currently have 290 TNG Recruit tokens.. which means I can redeem 200 and the other 90 will sit there indefinitely because you decided that 40 was a good idea to reward in the one event. This is total 🐂💩 Scopely! I was at Ops39 during the first 2 rounds of the 3of10 Auctions. Top 30 got shards. 11-20th place got 25 shards while 21-30th got 12. I just upgraded to Ops40 right before this 3rd and final round. Now only the top 10 get anything. Want 25 shards? Gotta finish 5th. Want 12 shards? Gotta finish 10th. Wth Scopely?! I finished 18th or so last round to get 25 shards. But now, after going up just one level in Ops, 18th gets me nothing. And if I want 25 shards this time, I now have to finish 5th! I don’t care if we get some shards now from the SMS, this is intolerable! You wanted me to join Ops40+, so I did. And so now my reward is this kick to my virtual groin? Unbelievable 😡

Im ops 41. Round 3 of the auction was brutal. We only have 10 ranks even though we had more than 50 players ranking in the same tier. And scopely decided to add in 10 of 10 shards which made the whales want to go for the event again even after they had won the earlier auctions. Why cant scopely add more ranks to this tier? No, the amount of rewards available are scaled based on the number of people in that bracket, hundreds of people in your bracket means the bands are wider to win shards. It’s to stop the five whales at Lv45-50 (in the case of our server) getting the rewards by default.

Jelly Pursuit is a great example of that, enough in the bracket and top 2 gets BPs, not top 1.

Always check with your peers in the next bracket what the rewards and competition is like before levelling up.

The only thing I have to complain about on the last arc is not being able to get the last missions. Making them level dependent as high as they did was a bit of a harsh slap to those who haven't been in the game for eons. And it isn't like I don't spend money. I'm not a whale by any means, but I do buy the battle passes and the second builder and researcher. At least they could have allowed us to see the whole story. Hopefully they offer the missions in a future BP event store, but I doubt they will. TNG was my favorite Trek show, and couldn't even follow the entire event. More than a little disappointed with that. Okay, sorry for beating this dead horse, but had to say it.

It took me 300 kills to finish all 3 factions today. 600 kills over 2 days is too much grinding in my opinion. 1090 points is too much for ops 39. I can't imagine how long it takes in the 40s. I would love to see the event points required for each faction cut to 650. Just my opinion as a player that doesn't want to spend hours and hours in game every day.

Farming is something lazy but you are not obliged to participate to event. And make the rewards for the “unlock” event worth the effort & cost too.

I'm also curious as to why the various levels have to reach the same milestone threshold for the less rewards. I assume it's still 1M for yours here? The amount of work based on miners, research, access to G4, etc. makes this much more time consuming for lower levels with diminishing value for the threshold. Even a bump from 33 to 34 has better rewards for the same work.

So it's actually harder to do this the lower your level which should arguably give you better rewards.

Different issue. The mod post answers the ore parts issue, but the overall question remains on why the reward to work ratio overall is scaled against lower players. A level 33, 35, and 37 all have to score 1M points it seems, but the rewards are better the higher your level, for arguably less time consumed because of faster mining (in general) or access to G4 ore once you have that. Using lat rush as the norm, your rewards go up when you level but the points to get those higher rewards goes up too. Why does that 33 get less rewards for the same work as the 34 who happens to be 1 level up at event start? Either lower the top threshold as the levels lower, or make the rewards the same.

1 M is only 100k g3, and i dont remember having that much problem getting that much in a day at level 33. perhaps the scaling should be better, and for the higher rewards more points should be needed, lets say increasing the max threshhold to 1.25 M at 35 and 1.5M at 37 perhaps? this would make the increased effort worth the increased rewards from higher levels?

I can knock out my ore mining for dailies in an hour with a pair of miners, but it takes 4 times that long to do this event, and you are flipping a 3600 node every 15 mins. I would rather them scale down for lower levels just to help clear up some nodes server wise and respect peoples time a little more.

But, just my 2 cents on scaling that is often problematic.

just a hint, go as far as your warp range will let you go to get the faster and larger nodes. if you are hitting 3.6k nodes instead of 18k or more nodes at level 33 you may be doing it wrong.

Then the next day for solo ms was a ticketed event. Two sets of tickets in the battle pass (one given yesterday and the other 15 days from now) and the first event has three tickets to choose from for the Act of War event? Get one shot at it I guess. So the 3rd day doesn't even have solo milestones so best server wide that could be completed was two tiers. This event was a total failure!

I’m on Server 33. The scoring for the honor guard warf is completely screwed up!!! I upgraded defense platform D to level 35 and got the 4+ million points, which is correct. But I just promoted Kang and Charvanik to tier 3 and upgraded them to level 15, and upgraded Marcus 16-20… all my points except for 13k are gone now?!?! Wth!!!! Hello the DMS scoring removed my points for the officer scoring. Yes I am also having issues with it not scoring correctly. However. I spend over 100k upgrade cadet Scotty and Yuki and I get no credit. Further more the discord update says you removed it and only level 20+ players get. reimbursement.

This is not fair. Im a level 14 player. I am NOT able to complete my activities because you Scopely remove the officer scoring. All the other ways in the evnts I can't do because mine are MAXED OUT!!!!

Either regular domination or this have the same problem. Spenders will win the event. It is what it is. The larger underlying problem here is the total randomness of power gained by research or buildings. That visibility needs to come out so that players can make informed decisions vice guessing. And then that power or value needs to be consistent across all event types.

Relative value of buildings has always been a problem to figure out as well. For example parasteel generator D might be deemed so important that it has to be upgraded to move up other buildings, but not important enough to score but a handful of points. And nobody needs it. Now, I get that it's real purpose is to drain resources to force real money spending, but still. If it's so critical to the shipyard or whatever, why not give it worthwhile power points instead of only really giving points for cannons. I mean, a single cannon beats a multi-week ops upgrade in power which is crazy for the resources required there.

there are only 2 ways to get this done in a fair way:

It’s funny how people have this idea of how they think it worked in their heads and arguing on false information, and how they are arguing about massive points because of it.
The Officer scoring was NOT based on how much XP you spent, it was based on POWER increase, yes it did involve spending Officer XP as a part of it, but it was massively different from events where it is direct spend XP to points value.
The massive points you see people have is NOT because of the Officer scoring, it wasn’t that high, and in fact the reason it was removed was because in unknown cases it was even giving negative points where people dropped massively,
So the biggest points are from people that still have their defense platforms available to upgrade.

It is certainly listed, but the application of that power is inconsistent across events with some counting it and other not. Take a look the next time you cash in a daily building event with a parasteel generator or other building during a daily building event. I dont think you are getting anywhere near the thousands of power points that stfc.space says you are. You might get 1000. You might get 500. Cannons will of course consistently max you though.

i have to say, after trying to participate and thinking about these new style events, im not a fan, its just turned into a turret upgrade event.
upgrades to anything else either score too little or score nothing at all.
so unless you're in the perfect time to upgrade your turrets and no one else is at that perfect time, u have little to no chance of even completing what should be the basic parts of the events, like that dominance sms. cant even get close to finishing it and it runs multiple times in a short succession.

Here’s how to fix the dominance event: reduce the points required by 10x. 95.5k instead of 955k would be far more reasonable and still require a fair amount of work for those who don’t have platforms to upgrade. The event in its current form is almost completely impossible for those who can’t upgrade defense platforms.
